[Q] Factory reset - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Everyone
Im stuck...
I broke the LCd in my streak (for a second time). And am selling the unit for nearly nothing to a craigslist buyer...
Since the lcd is broken, i cannot get through the menus to do a factory reset...
Can someone give me the step by step to boot and do a factory reset.
I hold both volume up and down, power it up and release the keys. then i need to press either volume up or down to get to the factory reset then press the camera button. I just can't figure out how many times to press each button.
Anyone??
Thanks so much!

Just did a quick check, it's the first option of four so press your v+v- and power, then just press the camera button, should do it for you.

For my case, once holding down volup + voldown and the power button, the recovery screen will appear with the following:
1. Factory Reset
2. Update from update.pkg (Highlighted)
3. Screen calibration
4. Power off
Option 2 was the default highlighted (or selected whichever you want to call it) option.
So i need to press the volup button once to move the selection up to option 1 and then press the camera button.
Am using Simple Streak rom if that makes a difference in the screen display options.

Can anyone tell me how to reset to the bootloader? I am wanting to flash the Leo and first i want to install hardspl of course. In the tutorial it says 'hold power button and reset to see the verison'.

when the phone has turned off-
press and hold the volume down button, keep it pressed down

Lcd broken =( (how to factory reset?)

Hello,
My DS5 lcd got broken. I want to sell it for parts, but is there any way to make a factory reset to clear all my user data with broken screen?
Maby some one can write down steps to make it restoer from recovery? (i've custom recovery but there was option in stock menu to do this)
greets!
Make sure the Streak is off by holding the power button down for about twenty seconds. Then, get into recovery in the usual manner, tap volume + once, then press the camera button to execute a factory reset. Wait a few minutes, then hold the power button down for about twenty seconds to shut off the Streak. If you want to execute StreakMod's data wipe/factory reset, get into recovery, tap the camera button, tap the volume - button twice, then press the camera button. Wait about a minute, then pull the battery to shut the Streak down. Since you're selling it for parts there's no need for you to have it reboot.

Phone won't power off

My phone is stuck on the boot animation and it will not power off. Hold down the power button and the soft buttons flash but nothing happens. I've held it down multiple times for upwards of a minute and it does nothing. USB plugged in and not. What can I do?

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons
If you can’t turn Droid DNA on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on Droid DNA by HTC.
Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

That didn't work either, had already tried that. Ended up taking the cover off the back and physically pulling the battery connector off, that worked... lol. Miss a good ol' hard reset button.

Denver TAC-70061 Tablet stuck

I've looked through similar thread on how to boot into recovery menu, but non of them work for this lame Denver p1ece of sh17 product. The tablet loads only to the 3rd page, and never gets passed it. I've ben trying to set it back to the factory default, but whenever I hold the volume down button and power button, the sh17 takes me to a screen with the robot laying down and exclamation mark inside of a triangle over top of it. I don't end of seeing anything else, like there is not list of options to choose from. Although I got this p13ce of hardware for free, any1 know how to reset a Denver specific type tablet back to the factory default settings right quick? If so, how do I do it before a slam it on the floor?

DENVER ELECTRONICS A/S explains to access the recovery mode (e-mail) – maybe this helps you:
You can factory reset the tablet the following way:
Plug in the adapter. Press the reset button on the back of the tablet and wait for approx. 20 seconds (until the battery icon disappears and the screen goes black).
Press the power button for 5 seconds.
When the Denver logo appears, press the power button 2 times (short fast press). (If the tablet powers of for start with “Android” – start again at step 1.)
Wait until you enter the recovery menu. Press the power button 3 times (don’t hold the button, short fast press).
“4. Wipe data/factory reset” must be marked.
Press and hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds, then release.
Use short fast presses to get the cursor to “8. Yes – delete all user data”.
Press and hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds, then release.
“1. reboot system now” must be marked.
Press and hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds, then release.

Turning on Samsung Phone without Power Button

I tried turning on my phone (Galaxy S20FE) by plugging it into my PC with a USB cable & holding down volume up & down buttons. The phone only had volume buttons & a power button, so now that the power button has fallen out, I only have the volume buttons https://19216811.cam/ https://1921681001.id/ .
Anyways, after I tried this, I get a warning, "A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel. Volume up: Continue ; Volume down: Cancel (reset phone) ; Side key: Show barcode."
If there's an option to reset phone, why isn't there an option just to restart? When I click volume up, it gets stuck on a downloading screen. It says I can cancel & restart the phone by holding down the power button & volume down, which obviously isn't something I can do. I got out of the downloading screen by unplugging from PC & waiting a while.
What are my options?
Welcome to XDA.
Repair or replace the assembly. Part of the core functionality of the phone... you need it.
If the battery is older then 1 or 2 years replace as well. Make sure to replace the back cover seal to preserve waterproofing.
Have a good repair shop do this if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

1. Use a blunt pin or something like that to press the power button area.
2. The options you see by holding down the volume buttons whilst connected to the PC is expected behaviour. You can press Volume Down button on that screen to cancel the warning and restart the phone.
'Reset' here means restart. It really is a wrong term to use and is confusing. Reset means to undo user changes and restore something to default state.
XDA should issue a clarification on this term instead of 'brick', whose usage has been far less confusing and fairly clear.
