I had been running trigger 3.3 for a while now. Decided to try a something else. Flashed V and I really like it. I was wondering what kernels my fellow V brethren are using. Also anybody running ECOTOX's kernel? I lurk thru his thread and the guy seems really nice. Anybody have any experience with his kernel?
I stay pretty basic. Running Bali 1.8.7UV.
I run ECOTOX's DragonMODz ULP kernel for every 2.2 or 2.2.1 ROM I use. It's really great. I tend to get around two days on a charge.
Running Bali 1.8.7 un capped

How smooth would you guys say those kernels are?

using Bali 1.8.7 uncapped - great battery life and performance.
Bali 1.8.7 uncapped. It does what it should do, and does it well.
All phones/users are different. experiment.
I'm using Immortality Kernel. It is very smooth and fast with this Kernel.

Hi just wondering which kernel gives the best battery life for you?
You have to try them yourself, people phone setup is always different and custom, so the kernels perform differently depending on your setup. Just run one for a day, then the next, then the next, etc. you'll find the one you like.
for me tigers blood with bi-wiinning 2.2.1 rom
if you want a guaranteed good battery life, use stock kernel.

Just have to try them out to see. for me it seems overstock 1.5.2 it is under volted very little lag. running bi-winning beta 3. Not just kernel you laso have to watch what apps run in background.

Im running overstock oc1.2 and trigger and i get around 25 hours.. of pretty moderate use!

How does Overstock compare to stock?

Its just over it. By miles too if I may add.
Hey guys, I've been flashing roms and kernels for a while now so i know how to do so. I was just wondering what kernel you guys are using right now and which one gives you best battery life. Currently I'm running Immortality v2 but i am getting persistent SOD's after a few hours of screen off. I would like something that could last me a whole day which is about 18 hours of just moderate texting and occasional browsing. I have tried the bali UV kernel but i cant get it to work for a full day for some reason.
Btw, I'm running bionix 1.3.1
I recommend Cmenards Overstock Kernel. In my opinion he makes the best ones around.
Simply Honey 3.9.1 powered by a 1.2ghz Bullet kernel..Simply Badass \m/
Bullet 1.42 bionix ng works perfect for me with heavy use tho dont expect to get through a whole day but on the other hand did I mention it was fast as hell!!

I go between Bali and Super DragonMODz. Both are great.
For those who say bali. Which one? The UV right? And it doesn't work with set cpu or volt. ctrl. So does it require any setup?

Hi I just got a free used vibrant. I'm gonna use it as a back up phone. My primary is a Galaxy S 4G, running ICBINB. It's extremely smooth and stable with great battery life. I'm hoping someone can suggest a ROM for the Galaxy S Vibrant that's considered extremely stable and smooth with great battery life. I'm not really concerned about quadrant scores, just want stability and smoothness with lagfix like my 4G running ICBINB. Thanks.
Try project v with bali kernal

Revamped/miui with Neo 9

cm7 with neo 9 v5 and kb5 modem
Try ZenDroid. Very fast and stable with excellent battery life.

Lol this is a spamfest but...CM7. End of story.
And the Vibrant is actually a better device (with much more ROM/dev support) than your GalaxyS 4G unless you are concerned about the data network.
Bi-winng V3, zero issues, very fast and stable. Kernel has overclock ability. Dev is super nice guy and it has great support.
Almost all the froyo roms are perfectly stable and fast with great batt life... gingerbread isnt incredibly stable but its FAST and cm7 is great but youll have to deal with lack of gps and batt drain, so i suggesr froyo roms like bionix 1.3.1 or project v5

Anyone suggesting Gingerbread is leading you astray per your criteria.
Honestly, Trigger (2.2.. not the one based on CM7) would be my suggestion, or Project-V.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I will definitely go with one of the froyo roms, Thanks again!
I also used project v with bali kernal and was very happy.
Currently running GingerZen_RC3. I am having some issues with the GPS, but I'm will ing to make that sacrifice. No other issues at all with GingerZen.
vibrant 3g>gs4g

how is that rom?
GingerZen is pretty nice, but Dev On Hold until a JVR kernel is out
Can someone confirm a working gps on revamped, project v, or trigger 2.3?

What is the best kernal for this version of CM7? I followed a tutorial on YouTube which used an Overstock kernal, but I'm not sure if that one is the best in terms of battery performance.

Anyone? I heard Bali is good.
There are 5 kernel available for CM also MIUI. (AFAIK)
1.Glith v13
2.EB7-Streamline
3.Neo 18 + Neo XX.1
4.99 Problemz
5.Bali-CM 2.2.2
And currently I'm using EB7-Streamline.
glitch works very well. the problem i had with bali and 99 problems was that no one could hear me when i put them on speaker phone. glitch v13 on medium leakage was great for me on miui and cm7
Glitch v13

Bali is good, but the developer no longer has a vibrant and so it is no longer updated. So I would have to say glitch v13 is the way to go. Super smooth and battery seems better then bali

I guess I'll try out Glitch, but why does it say DEV on the file name for Vibrant? It is a beta release?
Glitch and eb7 are my faves.. i LOVED glitch but my bln wusnt working and i NEEd it to, so i ended up on eb7 which is also BEASt, with working gps, pretty good batt life and performance and plenty of features.
Glitch def wins in performance tho

I am about to update my sister phone 2.1 to 2.2 but decide to just root it and flash a custom rom. What would be the best stable rom for it? She really just needs GPS working. Thanks
All the 2.2 roms pretty much the same stability-wise. It will just be a matter of personal preference to be honest. I like ZenDroid.
Bionix 1.3.1 with overstock kernel
