Finally cisco has stepped up to the plate for android users, at least for some. From past research it is due to root access rights.
Confirmed working on simply galaxy 2.7.2. Still need root access and tun.ko file though on froyo builds just like vpn connections. Curious if it will work straight up on gingerbread. Here is the info.
We are pleased to announce that the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is the first 3 rd party (and only SSL) VPN client available for Samsung Android devices. Customers may download the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client directly from the Android Market.
Supported Devices: Galaxy S model GT-I9000 (Gingerbread Maintenance Release) Galaxy S model SC-02B (Gingerbread Maintenance Release) Galaxy S II model GT-I9100 Galaxy S II model SC-02C AnyConnect is also supported on Tab 7 running Android 2.3.3+ or Galaxy Tabs 8.9 and 10.1 running Android 3.0+.

Is there any functional difference between the preinstalled Quickoffice HD and the Quickoffice HD Pro in the marketplace?

I thought someone here might know, but I guess not. I sent a query off to the developer this morning; will update this thread with whatever they have to say.

Well, I typed "Quickoffice HD and Quickoffice HD Pro differences" in Google and the second link returned said...
Quickoffice Pro was designed and developed for smartphones with Android operating system. It will work on almost all recent Android OS versions, although on some older versions (different 1.x versions) some new functionality may not be supported.
Quickoffice Pro HD was designed specifically for Tablet devices, it has optimized user interface for large screen and higher resolution and some new features which are more useful on a tablet device.
Quickoffice Pro HD will work on Android OS version 3.0 (Honeycomb) and newer.
The version on the Market is 4.5.15.
The 10.1 version is 4.6.20110614.39 - Samsung Tablet
I suspect there is no functional difference, only that Samsung had it tweaked specifically for the Tab 10.1.
I did get a reply from the developer this afternoon. Basically, they said the version that is preinstalled may lack functionality and then gave me a list of functions in the pro version. I can't figure out how to select a block of text in the Gmail app or I'd pater it in here. Based on the list of functions in the pro, versus what I can do with the preinstallation version, I don't see any point in buying pro.

I downloaded the QuickOffice 4.5 Manual and I don't see anything that the bundled app doesn't do.
I got my UK 10.1 last week and I cant find Quick Office installed.
I am currently in South Korea, and I want to gain the access for US android market since game category is gone from the market. How should I do it?

You must have a rooted smartphone and use the application Market Enabler (download it on the Android Market).
Loved this app. Think it had it's own built in video player since it was able to play files from the DLNA server that no other player could do including Dice and Rock.
I've since flashed to CM10 JB preview and am not able to get older versions of DLNA.apk and divx.apk to load. Anyone have a version that will work with JB?
Hoping there is compatibility from the newly released ICS update from Samsung that someone can post.

The two apps in question are dependent on touchwiz and will not work on CM. I've read someone getting all share working on CM but that was one out of dozens of post saying it doesnt work.

AllShare is just Samsung's implementation of UPNP - So if you want the functionality that allshare provides, download an app called UPNPlay from the market. A much better implementation of the UPNP protocol IMO.

There are several alternatives on play store.
IMHO the best are homedia and bubbleupnp. They sync well with my Samsung TV too

Love being able to stream netcasts I've downloaded on my desktop to my tablet. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of these apps. I'll give them a try.

Ok, so I gotm my S3.
With help of internet it got updated to Android 4.1.1 and rooted.
I got Market Enabler and Netflix app of Google Play (BTW: I have tried prev ver of the app as well - Netflix 1.8.)
1. I setup VPN connections (US & UK servers), both PPTP and L2TP protocols (just to be sure).
Internet (on Chrome and stock browser) is working great. VPN servers are fast so no difference here. Websites like home of the provider and trace my ip do show my location in accordance with VPN.
But when I try to log in to my Netflix account or start BBC iPlayer all I get is information (from Netflix) - that it is trying to connect. Like no data at all is being exchanged between app and internet
Any ideas?
2. When I started to setup VPN I was forced to put pin/pattern lock on S3. Any easy (for total newbie) way to turn it of?
Which vpn you are using and try changing the server.
If there is app for your vpn then most probably you dont need to use pattern lock. Try using VPNroot app but sometimes it diesnt work or find some app from app store.

I am using HideIPVPN (as in my signature).
They don't have an app for Android - I had to setup connections manualy.
I did try different servers - same thing. Browser work, Netflix and BBC (on the same VPN servers) do work on my PC and iPad - S3 - nope
I am using expressvpn and it works like a charm. Clear data from both the apps and try

Cool, thank you.
I'm using HideMyAss.com vpn (no app, so manual configuration). It seems to work fine as I can see some difference in contents when comparing netflix in denmark (no vpn) and netflix US (through hidemyass).

Hi,
i downloaded vpnroot, configured it with my VPN provider (I am using HideIPVPN for last 3 years - awesome service btw!) nad it all started woorking.
Hulu (Plus) Netflix, BBC - all smooth like butter (unlike TouchWiz or Android 4.1.1 on my S3 )
