Google voice for 3D-Hero - HTC EVO 3D

When I had the Hero and used google voice, I can use the app on my phone to decide between using the google number or my sprint number. Now with the 3D I have to choose one or the other to use.
Did I set it up wrong. Why doesnt it work on my 3D like it did on the Hero?

So many threads about this. It's because of Sprint and Google integration and people just clicking next through the app and not reading what they did.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk

You don't have to choose one or the other. On the first screen when it talks about Google and Sprint teaming up blah blah blah, skip/cancel/bypass that.
Then just go about signing in and setting up Voice like normal.

OK, I had to reinstall the app and pick the correct set up. Thanks, I got it working.

Google apps

Probably an easy question but when I go into my apps it lists everyone I ever downloaded. How do I get rid of them so I dont have to scroll or auto download?
Guess nobody knows?
It should only list the ones you paid for, and of course the ones you have currently installed.
Free apps that you downloaded, and then uninstalled should only stay there until reboot (I believe)

Nope lists everything I ever had. Sick of going through 10 pages of stuff.
Try going into settings applications and market (or google play if you have the updated one), clear cache and data then open the maket up again accepting the terms and conditions. Go to my apps again and it should have cleared them.

I agree with clearing the market/play cache in app management.

Ok normally I can figure this out. Guess Im a little slow today but dont see that anywhere. I open google play , go to settings and dont have that option anywhere.
Go into phone settings not google play settings. Then applications then all tab at the top of screen. Find google play and tap it tap clear cache and clear data. Then start google play app as normal and accept the terms and conditions. Job done hopefully!

Because he used the words "10 pages of stuff", I believe the OP is talking about the website, not the phone app. https://play.google.com/store does show every app you've downloaded. It'll also show old phones you may not even own anymore. No way to get rid of them afaik, and if you google the problem theres all sorts of talk about it out there.

Yes that is correct as Ive flashed several Roms and anything I did have would have been cleared by now. Also yes to the webpage for google and it lists phones. That has changed several times. Guess I will google and try and find the answer. Thanks.
Post back if you do find a solution but the last I dug around on the subject a month or so ago, old apps and old devices are not removable from the Play website. Its something Google controls and there is nothing end users can do at this point.
Here's a good start for you with some relevant links: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442148
While the link(s) above pertain mostly to removing old devices, the same goes for old apps. It seems Google is quite aware of it but does not want to give us control over removing such items.
The question of the day is, why?

Nobody wants to give up control. When setting up a Rom I have had it try to use Backup Asst. and I dont want it. So when I set up google I use to get these texts from verizon. Some whack crap. Called and funny how one tech takes care of it and the other is plain out stupid. I had one say freeze/force stop backup asst which you cant do because force stop just restarts. One tech took care of it and the other put in a trouble ticket.

[Q] Problems with Google Wallet and Play Store

Ok. Yesterday, I rooted my HTC EVO 4G LTE using regawMOD. I paid special attention to follow the directions. Especially the one telling me to reset Google Wallet. And the operation was a success, after the second try.
I first noticed the problem when I tried to purchase a paid app on Play. I started getting error messges to sign in to Google Wallet. When I opened it it had a yellow message saying that my EVO was an unsupported device. Still I logged in. At first the payment went through, and email confirmed that. While waiting for the download to start, I got another email saying the order had been cancelled, followed by an error notice that the download was declined.
I'm wondering if anybody else is having this problem? And, if so, if they have found a workaround, short of downloading/flashing .apk's from the web?
p.s. I haven't had a problem downloading free apps, yet.
We have like 100 threads on this topic already. Google Wallet isn't working. I think you might have to used your actual credit card.
And there in lies the problem. Wallet/Play Store won't allow me to download any paid apps, regardless of the payment method. And it's not just on my LTEVO. Getting the same problem on my OG EVO.
They just put out a update for Google wallet... Not sure I should upgraded best bg rooted... Will it break anything?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
After updating, I had the same problem. So, I went into Titanium and uninstalled Wallet. Now,the Play Store seems to be working fine.

Is there anyway to view only paid apps in the play store?

I've looked around but I haven't been able to find a way to view only the apps that I've purchased from the "my apps" tab in the play store. It shows me just about every app that I've downloaded since the introduction of the play store, including EVERY SINGLE free app that I ever downloaded and uninstalled. This is a huge oversight on googles part and it's really annoying.
Anybody aware of any fixes?

Not that I know of.. I was looking through mine today too and hoping I could sort them by most recently installed, but no sort options whatsoever that I could find. And there's a ton of free crap that I've installed and uninstalled, wish I could just remove some of them from the list.
I called google maybe 3 months ago to ask about this. I too thought it was annoying as hell. But was told by the rep that this was how "google" wanted the my apps list to do and there wasn't a plan to fix it..

It's such an obvious flaw I can't see how they'd actually want it that way. It has absolutely no practical use. At the very least they could have given us the option to sort the apps somehow.
In a previous release of the play store there was a way y to view your paid apps but after an update a few months ago they took out that option.
The only thing that would work would be an older modified version with the "auto update " feature stripped from it

So frustrated by this, I have hundreds (most of them no longer in use) of apps listed under "My orders" with no way to sort them by price.
How am I to find my paid for apps Google?
I think we all should send a request to Google to fix this.

You still can open playstore hit apps then slide screen to left. You have top paid apps top free best paid and so one. It still seperates them.

Yeah it kind of sucks even free apps your try once for a minute and delete get stuck to your "owned" list.
What really sucks is I have 4 android devices, including a googletv unit and all the apps I've ever downloaded on my other devices show up on my phones app list.

Open the Market, the 3 Dots on the top right next to the search click it Choose My Apps, Now Swipe Left it will Show you ALL the APPs you have Ever Installed or Purchased
If you want to push the Apps to your Device just jump on the Computer and go to https://play.google.com/apps and click install and it will install on your chosen device

Doesn't TB have an option to remove apps from your downloaded app list in market? Maybe you have to uninstall through TB... idk, just a thought.

Watch out!

Google has very silently pushed a new app to all android devices. Its called Google settings. Now I love android but this shouldnt be allowed it does not seem to do harm but lets let the devs see
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
They didn't do a good job with it since it's obviously in the app drawer for all to see
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
You can disable it by unchecking all of the read write execute in es file explorer. Or if you find an older version of the android market that is compatible with our phones. And the worse thing is it's not in the market at all it's just there.
I Personally think forcing a phone to silently install an app is wrong. Had it been a usual update that would have been smarter.
It lets you control all the google settings from one place. I for one think that's smart. Who cares if it's in your app drawer, hide it if you don't like it.
What version Google Play adds this? I haven't received it yet. I'm 100% stock and unrooted. My issue now is all of a sudden I am receiving double notifications from all my apps except gmail.
Edit. Never mind I have the app now just checked. Now if the double notifications would stop.

The app doesn't do anything else other existing apps were not already doing. It simply aggregates all the Google settings into one cohesive place (although I feel that the 'account sync' area is better suited for this). It doesn't require any special permissions that are not already used by other Google apps.
If you do not want it either hide it like others have said or simply unlink your Google account from the device seeing that the only thing the app does is put the settings in one place and creates a platform to be able to give you MORE control over what other apps can access as far as Play Services functionality is concerned. This app is very welcomed.
Also if you are against them updating stuff without your consent, root and remove the play store -- that updates automatically as well. You're using a device that uses Google Apps as it's back end, this is expected.
Read the link ronnie posted to alleviate your concern.

See the play store is fine. when that updates, i get a notification of new terms and conditions, as well as it only happens with new OS releases or when i open the actual app. not radomly while im on the john or asleep.
Wasn't really a secret, they have been promoting for awhile now and there have been a few articles pre and post. It just compiles settings for their apps.

It's a shame how many people are hating on this thread instead of seeing it for what it is. Anyways i made an app that fixes this issue in the app section and in the general I put the old og market that won't update by it's own.

Did you actually read the terms you agree to every update? Because section 3 - Updates of the Play Store ToC state:
You may need to install updates to Google Play or related Google software that we introduce from time to time to use Google Play and to access or download Products. Products originating from Google may communicate with Google servers from time to time to check for available updates to the Products and to the functionality of Google Play, such as bug fixes, patches, enhanced functions, missing plug-ins and new versions (collectively, "Updates"). By using the Google Play store and installing these Products, you agree to such automatically requested and received Updates.

Emphasis mine. Also, ignoring all that, what difference does it make if it asks you to agree? Your point was that you didn't want apps to update themselves. The play store does that, ergo it was a valid comparison.
As a matter of fact I would be more paranoid about the play store because those updates usually have new functionality. All this does is literally link you to setting screens that were already on your device and adds an area to give YOU more control cover what third party apps can access.
Looking at the dissection of the app on the link provided shows exactly what the app does. Which, by the way, the Play Services has been doing this ever since the play store launched with Android 2.2 and above (Source - Automatic Updates).
So my original advice stands, if you do not want this to continue, delete the Play Store.
TL;DR:
Play store agreement allows and makes it clear that automatic updates will happen.
App doesn't add new permissions, it links to existing menus.
This has been happening since Android 2.2 and it's nothing new.
Only way to stop it is to delete the Play Store.

Well, you didn't really choose Google Play. It's preinstalled on your phone when you buy it. The fact that the "Settings" app was pushed to the phone automatically, and is only used to change settings for Google Apps, there's really not an alarm for concern. You actually agreed to it when you bought the phone and accepted the terms when setting it up.
Glad to see this thread. I was visiting someone yesterday and messing with their gnex (I maintain it for her, in a sense) and saw this green Google settings and started freaking out cuz it was unknown where it came from, and I could not find it in either /data/app or /system/app and therefore could not remove. Also, about the same time, the email app would no longer login or sync, saying invalid password. I though it possibly related, thought Google setting was something malicious. Now I know it's legit :good:
Thanks

[Q] Google Play Error 927.. DRIVING ME NUTS

Hi Guys
This issue has been going on for 4 months now, i can rarely download or update an app on the play store because it gives me error 927. Only the odd update or install will work and this happens over both Wifi and Celluar
I have several android devices, 2013 Nexus 7, SGS4, Optimus G Pro, Xperia Z Tablet, Note 1 and the same happens on every single device. If i use a different account after resetting the phone i dont have the issue but the problem is i have purchased £100's of applications on my normal account so i cant afford to use another one.
I have tried wiping caches, factory resets and nothing seems to work. I contacted google and they dont have any idea either!!
I was hoping someone here had a similar issue?
Thanks
I've had a similar error occur for me. Whenever I install/update an app where on WiFi or Mobile Network it would send off and error.
It was a constant annoyance for me.
It stopped when I did this, I headed into Manage Apps>All Apps, and opened Google Play Store, cleared data and cache. And did the same to Google Play Services, I proceeded by rebooting the device next thing I know, my phone starts updating apps .
I hope this'll work for you.

Hello!
Contact Google, it is their right to investigate this problem, if you've payed that much money for apps, one certainly wouldn't move to another account, tell them about this problem.

Yeah they suggested I use another account or wipe the cache. I've tried contacting on 3 different occasions. Each one has been a waste of time

Worst support at its best, try going into play store, clear the data for store and service, and go back to play store and go on uninstall updates.

Just so people are aware, this is still happening, I'm writing this today because things were going ok for a while, but, the play store got updated again, to 4.6.17. It happens on my Nexus 5, HTC Evo 4 G, & galaxy tab 8.9, it happens on different versions of play store. If I create new account, play store works great. I contacted Google as well, basically got pissed cause they were completely useless. Right from beginning I was honest, & told them I was rooted. They basically blamed it on that. Anyways, Google play suck$
