Cool HTC Sense 3.0 browser trick! - HTC EVO 3D

Try this...
Load up the stock browser, then pinch to shrink the page and add a new page!
I think this is way better than tabbed browsing because you don't waste screen space with the row of tabs! And it's just about as easy as tabbed browsing.
Just thought I'd share!

Nice, makes things a little faster.

Nice, and this is, and has been, accessible also by doing menu/windows from within the browser

This is real nice. It solves the problem of tabbed browsing with a small screen real estate, which is awesome!

Yup.. They knocked it out the park on this feature... Simple stuff like this is making Sense 3.0 awfully hard to ditch when the Cyanarmy approaches..

Been there since sense 1.0 but is nice

well... i like tabs. and I also like the instant ability to switch between desktop and mobile mode when using Dolphin.

would a 3D app drawer be possible?

if someone with the knowledge took a look at how the 3D is used for pictures and videos, would it be possible to incorporate it into the app drawer? maybe a single line of apps at a time
Once we get S-off and perm root, we'll find out. Most likley, huge battery drain though....hope you have a 4000 mAh ready to take advantage of that.
It wouldn't have to be 3D as in how the pics and movies are viewed, but instead how the sense UI is displayed. An app drawer where the apps rotate into view from an angle to give the illusion of 3D. I'm surprised that HTC didnt put more work into the senseUI appearance. If you watch the Evo3D commercial and didn't know better, you'd think that the phone was in 3D mode 100% of the time (as in how movies and pics are viewed).

Its not real 3d right? Downloading now looks kinda cool.
To the op, I think to do what you want it would need to be a homescreen locked in landscape only. As far as I know you can only see 3d if its in landscape .

[Q] Rotate Animation like the iphone when turned to landscape from portrait?

this would complete the evo3d i dont know why is not added towards display>animation but ive noticed the motorola photon 4g does.
Use adw launcher pro, I love sence but I also love landscape mode haha you get way more options to customize your screen and set it (your screen) to what ever suits your needs brah. But since we now have a new kernal I think we can work on landscape mode for sence.

its to expensive y would you pay 15 bucks for something like spb shell, adw launcher ex is awesome, you get great themes with amazing icons, besides you can use beautiful widgets, i had spb shell and it was a waste of money. my opinion thoo, give them both a try and c what you like bro if you like the carousel and landscape mode with awesome icons go with adw..
+100 for adw ex. Been using it since it came out and have tried A LOT of others and nothing
compares (in my opinion, of course). Some people also swear by launcher pro(plus).
But $15 is WAY to much for spb shell imho. Its not even that nice.
I know they have something like this in the default browser of the internet if you type "default:config" or something like that....I'm pretty sure that's not the command, but there's a setting in the advanced part and its just an animation.

Is about:debug and just check smooth rotate but it won't give you nothing close to the iPhone or iPad rotate animation , thats one of the things the make ios seems faster and less blocky, that's one of the things I hated in my honeycomb tablet, looks worse in bigger screen , then a phone , Idk why Google don't work in effects I mean I don't think is hard to do them
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Is there not a way to get this animation in as a default, as i really like Sense 3.0 and would not want to hop onto another home launcher just for this feature.
As of now when we rotate the screen the browser/apps flash and go landscape, would be nice having that rotating animation in like the honeycomb tablets and iPhone.
PS. what's this 'config:' thing? i remember doing it on htc Desire but it only gave me certain advance options, and not a animation section

you can go landscape with spb as well located on its home launcher settings
Go Launcher Pro ftw
Guys, guys, guys (and possibly girls)! The question wasn't "What's a launcher that allows for landscape mode?" It was "how can I get rotation animations ala iPhone?" I can confirm launcher pro and ADW launcher do NOT have this feature. From what I understand, it was removed just after 1.6 and it wasn't "possible" with the new graphics framework put in for Android 2.0.
That said, I have noticed that most of the motorola phones that have come out in the past year have them so I don't know why HTC can't have them. It might be something that needs to be implemented on the manufacturers side or it might be a hidden feature of the OS now. I have been looking for this for the Evo 4G and now the Evo 3D (I own both) to no avail. I will try this SPB shell and report if and report how well it works.
Tried SPB Shell 3D. No dice. Cool interface but that's about it. Hopefully Ice Cream Sandwich keeps the honeycomb animation and integrates them into the stock phone interface.
I did the about:debug on the stock browser and now it has a rotation animation but it's only limited to the browser (good for now though)
One question: now that I've got the smooth rotate on, how do i remove the debug options so they don't show up when i click menu or go settings in the browser?
Thanks

[Q]Flattened Sense Scrolling.

Currently running Fresh and I would like to implement flattened 2D scrolling for sense, however I am a bit confused on how to do so. Would someone mind pointing me in the correct direction?
Also, is there a way to implement RCtweak on a rom without having to bake it in?
I'm assuming you mean to make the scrolling more like stock Android. I'm not sure there is a way to, since it would involve pretty heavy modification of the framework.
No thats not what I am referring too. If you look at the widgets on the home screen as you are scrolling you will see layers to the widgets. This while it looks nice cause a hit to FPS, which can be translated as perceived lag. Flattened scrolling removes layers of the widgets.

Youre talking about the 3d effect when moving from one screen to another. Unfortunately I've not seen that done yet. If you are rooted I recommend using Eternity rom 1.3.1. That rom seems to have taken care of the lag issue you are experiencing. It's what I use and you dont really need to overclock like i did unless you want everthing else smoother. See a video of my phone below.

I wanna say mike1986 was talking about taking this feature from sensation and using it on shooter in his next release of ARHD.

There was a 3D 3.0 Rom that had RCtweaks in it which allowed you to switch this option.

Pretty Sweet Visual Mods!!

Hey guys, I've done some modding on my prime to bump up the UI visuals a little
I think it really suits the clean look!
You can see it in action here in the first half of this video!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBTqYvJVHCA
How is this the clean look? Lol you got icons all over the place top n bottom of screen filled up. Looks cool but too much like a win mo clone. I'm not a fan of big lettering detailing what screen you on or whatever. This just looks like different launcher or something as I've seen others in the "Post your homescreens" thread in themes n app section just like yours. Why so many icons in top and bottom bar at once?
I like it.
Points taken

Lol yea, I guess you have to ignore those icons at the very top, they're from adw launcher and I can't seem to shake them well MAYBE clean isn't the right word, but everyone that I show it to LOVES it!
PS the shots with more than one picture are transition screens (kind of like switching cards)

Overall it looks good. A different look for sure. So you put this together yourself taking pieces out of adw launcher? Or is this just the launcher itself with one of the many different themes it has?

How does mulitilive behave on your prime? I looked at it in marketplace and its getting slammed because it doesn't support ICS yet. Alot of users with ICS experiencing issues with it. Ill try it out once it updates to truly support ICS. Does it drain the battery from constantly switching backgrounds or can you make them static and just have one pic for each homeacreen?

I just watched it after seeing this post. Gave it a thumbs up. Dang, that does look really cool theway you set it up. Moves very fast also. I have adw ex launcher also. Got it a while back on the 10 cent app sale. Haven't really used it on my prime yet. I might try setting something up with it now after seeing that video.
Are scrollable widgets already working with adw.ex on ICS? Ditched it because of lack of scrollable widgets (but see it hasn't been updated since december 7th so guess not).

That's a good point it's hit and miss. Colorize widgets DO scroll but Gmail does not. So i have no idea why that is. Hopefully a fix comes soon.

Cheers for the response. Mail, agenda, bookmarks and those kinds of things weren't working for me and appearantly I am a fan of scrollable widgets hehe. Guess I'll stay away from it for now.
Must say I'm pretty satisfied with the stock launcher atm as well though!
This is a seriously biased video. Just look at the pinch-zoom part of the video (around 2 minute mark) and you'll see that Android lags in full screen animations. Sure the framerate does not drop, but responsiveness to user input is lagging as opposed to iPad 2.
I love my Android devices, but that video is just badly biased.

Looks good! I did a similar thing with my Nook Color, looks cool and works great. I used Minimalist Text instead of Simpletext.
I guess I have to try it on my TP now!
Ok so initially just looking at the screen grabs my initial reaction was meh. After watching the video I actually quite like it. I don't know if its my cup of tea just to have an entire pane exclusively for facebook feeds or the weather, but the interface works and it looks really good. Get rid of the icons at the top and it would be beautiful. Overall, good job, thumbs up.
Nice and clean! I like it. I could not multilive wallpaper in the market. I could see multipicture live wallpaper. Is that the same?

[Q] Is there a "flat" rosie for Sense 3.0/3.5?

Hey all,
simple question really, is there a non-3D/carousel Rosie available for Sense 3.0+ (basically I'm looking for a flat scrolling Sense launcher akin to Sense 2.1)?
Thanks

There is a mod to disable the carousel effect somewhere in the dev forum. LeeDroid tweaks has some Rosie mods built in look into that.
You can install ginger thyparancy skins, they look really good and the risked is flat.
Thanks both of you will check them out.

if you mean homescreen swipes that do NOT have the cubed 3D effect, the answer is not yet. BUT, in the last few weeks some cool new developments have happened:
-ability to disable the super spinny "fling" when you swipe fast on homescreen
-ability to enable scrolling wallpaper
-ability to disable carousel spin "unlock animation" (this has been around awhile)
in the theme help link in my sig a few of us have been working towards various cool sense hacks, as have others. I'm sure we'll get it at some point to make the transitioning "flat", and hopefully soon
