Hi
New to these forums so please bear with me.
I have had the SGS2 for about 3 weeks now and today I used it to forward an email from my Gmail account using the Samsung Email app (app with wax on envelope). Each time i tried to forward a msg the msg would come up and I added a email address to send too, then when I sent it the email arrived with just my covering text and no forwared email.
I am using a stock rom version KE2 and have checked its not my colleagues Iphone by sending myself a forwarded email and I can check also in the sent emails - none have the attached mail I wished to forward.
I have checked the setting and the tick is ticked for forwarding files. I have stopped and restarted the app whilst untickting and ticking the box but nothing seems to work. To forward the mail I have to enter the Gmail app and do it that way which works fine.
Whilst this isnt a major pain i just wondered if its me doing something wrong or there is a bug with the app??
Tks
John
Seems to be a bug in the email app. Seems it just refuses to include the original email body regardless if you use forward or reply.

Hi All,
I have a HTC hero running MoDoCo custom rom r4 on Tmobile UK.
I use google contact to store my contacts and link there profiles to facebook twitter etc.
My issue is that i have set up a group in my contacts that i send txt jokes to.
So when i go to forward these txt jokes my phone sends it to all the phone numbers and email addresses in the persons contacts, so sends it as a MMS not TXT so this limits it to 10 ppl that the msg can be sent to only.
I have looked at the contacts and both the mobile and email address are marked as Primary , how do i stop this from happening as its well annoying
Any advice hints or tips greatly recived
Thanks in advance

hi there!
I know this is my first post, but im from germany and there was no solution on the german forums out there for this.
My problem:
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Honeycomb 3.1 and the new Touchwiz from Samsung. All works quite fine.
And i like the Email App from Touchwiz very much, but why the hell does it not store any Emails on the device, when they are sent from the device?
So i have a couple of IMAP-Email-Accounts configured and they work fine, but when i sent an email from the device, it wount get stored in any of those "Outbox"-folders or "SENT"-Folders...
Is it just me haveing this wrong configured or is ist a bug?
Small hint, the IMAP-Email-Accounts are not google-mail-accounts.
The Samsung Email-Client seems to store the sent items in a different local folder but i cant reach it and dont know his name....
EDIT:
Maybe its enoug if some one with an rooted device and touchwiz ux could tell me, in witch folders the sent emails are stored local if it is not a google-mail-account...
same problem here... thought it was just me.
same for me also!! Frustrating that they not can make the basic function working.
And if some one could tell me, where to report this issue back at samsung, i would report this bug or problem. But after searching for hours i still cant get the right support for touchwiz ux problems...
Still having this frustrating problem...can someone share a info, how to conntact the dev-team of touchwiz-ux?
Is there anyone else having the same problem with sent items in your touchwiz-email-app?
I have the same issue and haven't found a solution yet.
This may be helpful to some of you. I noticed that after the recent software upgrade, my incoming server setting had been reset from pop3 (my preference) to android.imap.mail.yahoo.com and my outgoing to android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I created a new account, set as the default, using my original pop3 setting for incoming (pop.mail.yahoo.com) and removing the "android" prefix from the outgoing, and choosing the "never delete email from server" option. Once this was done, I deleted the account that used imap.
Everything seems to be working fine now, including the sent folder, and I'm also now retaining all original received emails on the server (which is key for me -- I synch three different devices). The only concern I have left is why the update defaulted to imap over pop3 and whether I may be overriding some features or functionality inadvertently by changing those settings.
My problem is that the default email app doesn't sent the emails with the same extension, meaning that any of my co workers that has the same @XYZ.com and even to myself the app doesn't send it.
Any advise on how to solve this out, or suggestion on other email app that looks as clean as the default? I have try the k9 and other like it but I do like the two windows format to see the emails.
thanks in advance
Hi
I have a Android phone and have it hooked with my workplace email account which uses Microsoft exchange 2007.
I am getting my emails through on the phone but the issue I have is in my outlook I have rules setup so if someone sends me and email who is part of my team i have rules setup so their emails go into their own seperate subfolder.
The issue is if i get an email from one of these collesgues where i have setup a rule i dont get a email message alert on my phone that i have received an email.
However if anyone sends me an email straight to my inbox i get an alert without no issue.
What's odd is we have a network monitoring tool and if that alerts and sends me an email I have again set up a rule to filter those messages to a different subfolder. I seem to get alerted on the phone for these emails which I have found very strange. If this sub folder works why don't I get them for the rest is my question?
I have rechecked my rules in outlook and can confirm they all set up exactly the same.
Is this setup incorrect or can I not receive emails which are in sub folders?
Is there a way to solve this, could an android app sort this as i am just using the native email app which comes with the Galaxy S3.
Thanks

There must be some differences between the rules or the folders. It is normal on an email client that if you have a rule to move an e-mail to another folder on arrival, it will do so without an alert. The only thing i can think of is that your colleagues' rules are "server" rules (run on server before e-mail gets to outlook) and the alert rule is client based (arrives on server, delivered to Outlook then rule runs in outlook)....
One thing to test is if you change the alerts folder to be one of your colleagues, do you stop getting notifications?
My gmail accout is automatically sending an email to the same address every night around midnight. And then I get a notification saying cannot send attachment.
The email is blank and is received by the recipient.
My outbox and drafts and empty

Probably your email got hijacked. What to do:
Prevent current unauthorised sending - Login to your gmail account & change your password. Make it a secure one - with a mixed upper and lower case characters, and at least a numeral.
Prevent future intrusion - do not complacently click on any email from unknown email address. Even though the email "name" sound familiar, look at the email address. If your friend's name appear but the email address (@xxx.com) do not match a known email address, ignore it. Chances are that someone is trying to phish you into sending your email credentials.
I have 2 step verification on. Surely it cant be more secure then that?

Could be one of your apps, especially one of the 'free' ones, or one that was side-loaded, though they usually just dial home direct to deliver information to an outside party.
Try googling the email address. Sometimes someone else will be asking about the same issue after loading a particular program.
It is emailing my work email address though. Thats what I cant understand. Strange. But it didnt do it last night

Hey does anyone know of a way to compose new emails direct from watch using accounts setup on phone rather than just replying to received emails. If you do I am extremely keen to find out. Also interested in getting BBM working natively if anyone has any suggestions. Am also posting in development forum.
not sure u can

You can use the email app on the watch to compose new emails as long as you use stock email app on the phone. Otherwise, there is no way.

I am unable to compose new emails to other contacts I can only reply to emails that I receive
Open the email app on the watch and you will have option to compose new emails. However, if you are not using stock Samsung Email app on the phone, this won't work.
Had someone got the stock samsung email apk for me. I thought I already had it but I can't compose new emails
If you have a Samsung phone, it is part of ROM. If you don't have a Samsung phone, you should know a lot of the Gear S features won't work.
I do have a Samsung phone and have being using the default email app but I am still unable to compose new emails from the watch - only reply to received messages. Any other suggestions??
Here is the direct copy from the manual:
Sending Emails
1. On the Apps screen, tap Email.
2. Drag the screen downwards from the center of
the screen and tap Compose.
3. Add recipients and enter a message, and then
tap to send the message.

When I drag down nothing happens
As in no compose or any other options come up
Hey where did you get the manual from?
Then you must have something configured wrong on your phone. It works on mine just like manual says. Make sure the stock Email app is the default email app on your phone and has email accounts setup. When you open the email app on watch, you should see existing emails on the app as well.

Direct downloaded from Samsung.
I found this update link in another thread but after updating, the app crashes and won't open.

It just comes up on the phone "unfortunately email has stopped"
Samsung's apps are usually phone model specific. You don't want to blindly update from other sources.
I think that's what's happened and it didn't like it. Is there a way too restore the previous version
I don't know. You can try uninstall it. But you might wind up need a hard reset. Are you using a Samsung phone that meets the requirement of Gear S? Not all Samsung phones are supported.
Yep everything else goes fine with Gear s. I can install new apps etc and get email forwarded from my phone but I just can't compose new emails
Have just done factory reset so will see if it fixes it
