For you users that have had the time to run a lot of different ROMs and Kernels, what has given you the best average battery life? I know a lot of this is relative but regardless.
I've tried liquid and BAMF and didn't find much of an increase over stock life. For each one I charged to 100% and used it for a ~17-20 hour period and compared. I've also tried a few under volted kernels.
I cleared all the caches and wiped battery life stats too for each rom.
+1. I think imoseyon's kernel might be working best for me with a max of 1.2Ghz but I haven't done that much testing.

I totally agree with you on imoseyon's kernels. His newest kernel, the 1.92, running at 1-1.2 Ghz is super stable/responsive but has, at least so far, given me improved battery life as well.
As for the rom, I'd have to go with either BAMF or Tesla personally.

Okay next charge cycle I'll try imoseyon's kernel.
Right now I'm back to debloated stock and running adrynalyne's undervolted 1GHz and seeing a bit of an increase in life.
Imoseyon's leankernel is doing it for me. I am using the stock rom with it and my battery life is better than when I was using the stock kernel. It is by no means a miracle worker but the improvement is very noticeable.

Hi guys wondering who has tested multiple kernals on project v. I have used the stock and overstock and prefer overstock. Any input on bali, dragon, or any others?

could try overstock 2.4.1 then OC to 1.2GHz, havent been on project v but my battery was ok with that on other roms
or could try dragonmodz and OC to 1.2GHz, that might have better battery than overstock, havent tried it but people on his thread say they have quite decent battery going up to 1.5GHz
just play around with them for a few days each, see which works best
I'm running TigersBlood3.22 OC to 1.2Ghz and I'm gettin average battle life.

Thanks for the advice. How's tigers blood not overclocked?

DragonMODz kernels have the best battery I've experienced. Followed by Bali 1.8.6UV.
Sent from my SGH-T959
IMHO, DragonModz are awesome kernels, they have all flavors. They have the "Standard" version that its the intermediate between performance and battery life, then they have the ULP version that boosts the battery life, but takes a little of the performance, and last but not least, they have the OC version wich is oriented to performance...battery life is ok with this one, does not suck, but it isn't as great as the ULP/Standard version or Bali's UV.
I have tried several kernels, and i think that my phone was the happiest with DragonMODz.
i have found, for my phone at least
bali UV = great battery life ( 15 hours ) moderate use
bulet 1.48 = great performace ( 21 mflops & 7 hours ) moderate use
overstock 2.4.x = good balance

I have to add that im an moderate/intense user. Im on WiFi 37% of the time, i use lots of intesive GPU using apps like Gameloft's HD games, N64/Gba emulation, i listen to music around 46% of the time and im using Project V until GB gets fully functional (GPS) wich seems to be very soon.
IMO, the best option if you want great battery life and great performance is to buy a 3000mah battery and use an OCed Kernel.
Thanks bro great info. I appreciate all the help with this thread!

Bali UV has the best battery life I've seen , after 16-17 hours of moderate use (WiFi, calls, 3d games) i still have on average 40-45% juice.
Hey guys i need some help.. I own a droid incredible and the ROMs and kernels there are great, i can always get awesome battery life with tiny's kernels.. My brother has the Samsung Fascinate and he wants some rooting love. He wants basically what i have: a stable rom with a kernel that will give him at lease better battery life than stock. I mean if there is a kernel out there that can do what tiny's kernels do for my droid incredible that would be amazing. so can someone point me in the right direction?? thanks!!!!
Froyo or Gingerbread?

Powerwashed Rom by ccampos, closest thing to stock so can be used as a daily driver and great battery life.

I personally would go with cm7 and use the glitch kernel. Set the undervolting settings and the phone lasts for quite a while. My percentage dropped 1% in almost 2 hours. I was doing a fairly moderate amount of texting and some browsing.
+1 for CM7.1 with Glitch kernel. Even if you don't change UV settings the battery life is pretty good.
Hi there,
i am new into this custom ROM stuff and i been trying few ROM and now i am on the UltimaROM 2.3.2
but Battery going down from 100 to 84 in short time
Which is the best to have more Battery
and is there anyway removing the default SMS app and use chompsms instead ?
Nothing is best here. Just keep experience yourself with different rom, kernel and tweaks to find the best battery performance for your phone.

These things depend on how you use your phone, but system and idle seem high on your list. Screen and talking are my top two. Batteries have so many variables. I would try different ROMs and kernels.

I am using the Stock Kernel but when i was installing the UltimaROM asked me which kernel do i want and had a list of kernels but where can i see what is the diff for each kernel ? i cant find such info ,

Go to page one General and you will find stickys .
Alternative is to read the kernel posts in development section .
Or even that new fangled idea google search .

I think stock kernal is probably your best bet for battery life...
Hi everyone!
1st post on xda, but I'm new in android world!
Anyway, I'm using Omega ROM v27.2 (JB)/stock kernel and I experienced some battery drain issues. After getting BBS, I didn't able to point out what was the cause.
After many readings, I found a possible solution: in advanced WiFi settings, they advised to disable "Keep WiFi on during sleep". By default it's set on "always". They advise to set it to "never" but I prefer set it to "only when plugged in". I think it's more logical!
I don't know yet if it's efficient but I'm trying this and I'll come back later to tell you.

you could use phenomenal kernel for better battery life. it is better than stock kernel in terms of battery life but you need to check compatibility with the custom rom you choose
Foxhound Essential .2 with latest siyah kernel
Best Battery life I ever tried - I've used Foxhound, Criskelo, and Omega JB roms but the Foxhound Essential is the fastest, ram free (430mb), best battery life performance around (8hours extensive use with mobile date turned on). Try it its great! Thanks

Try latest siyah kernel - plus Foxhound Essential ver .2 - No bloatware and best battery life performance..
I flashed Phenomenal Extreme kernel yesterday but to test it properly I have to wait for Monday when I'll be at work.
I'm not a fanatic of battery life, I just want to find the right mix between performance & battery life. For now, I found the phenom extreme not enough smooth, I'll probably change it for the medium one in few days.

Get betterbatterystats and check the wake locks! The default battery stats from our phone can't allow us to deduce whether there is an issue

My best results with battery life has been with Phenomenal Extreme and VikingROM. I got about 6 hours screentime with wifi, sync, and lots of gaming. Though i think you can make almost any rom or kernel last about 5-6 hours screentime if you check your running processes and apps running in the backround.
I hv tried lots of roms
Psycho rom XXDLJ1 v 0.0.1 is one of the best
it gives u maximum performance and an amazing battary life
Though you can flash different ROMS and kernels to experiment with battery performance, most reputable ROMS like AOKP or CM10 Wong yield much difference. Too many other variables. I've heard Trinity kernel is a good one, but I just got an extended battery. I found it to be the most sure way of extending battery life.

I've tried omega Rom and phenomenal kernel but these didn't really give me any more battery.
I found the stock kernel and Rom gave me the best battery performance at around 10 hours with WiFi on and surfing internet and maybe a quick go of a game or two.

could someone make
kernel with undervolt/underclock gpu ?
wanna try to save same battery life
thx
Funky kernal and dsb kernal have under volt but both also have overclocked gpu. I get amazing battery life on funky kernal though. But if your asking for an undervolted gpu no kernals have that.

no point of uc/uv the gpu
im using this kernel i cant get more then 2.5 hours of screen time webbing
i tried to lower the clock but current widget showing the same mA usage
if you're getting that then something is wrong. bad battery. screen too bright. rogue apps running. other unnecessary wakelocks. look around to what drains battery
Wait for snuzzos official release that's getting close to main version release time. It's going to get really nice battery life.
