OK, I tested this not even a week ago and I consistently got around 1Mbps uploads and a Max of 10Mbps downloads over 4G.
This morning I decided to give it another shot (after tinkering with the WiMAX settings via ##data#) and I noticed that not only where my downloads consistently higher, hovering at an average of 9Mbps, but my uploads finally broke 1Mbps. It was actually over 1.7Mbps after testing 3 different server locations multiple times on Speakeasy.
So, did they decide to raise the cap during the evo3d launch?

it was upped to 1.5mb earlier this month. although im still seeing the 1mb cap here in san antonio.

See, that is what I read too. Which is why I did a bunch of testing earlier in the week. From different locations in my city. Not in a single area would I break 1.05Mbps. I must have tested 30+ times from 10 different locations.
Today, laying in bed. Boom, multiple tests above 1.7 (highest has been 1.82)

where in salem are you? my pops is by lancaster/auburn and was telling me i think it was monday morning that he was getting 10down 1.5 up instead of the usual 8 down and 1 up.
Old news. sprint has started raising it in a bunch of areas weeks ago.
What does raising the 4G cap do for us? I don't upload anything from my phone to the net.

Ever since lauch date, I have seem to be racking up data very quickly..
Already 5.4GB and counting..
At this rate, Im very worried about future capping or throttling..
How much have yall used?
I have used 500 Megs in three days but I have been playing around a lot and have good 4g coverage. On the down side, you can almost see the battery meter drop while downloading.
It's currently Unlimited for now right? asenduk, how long have you had it. That's quite a bit of data man!
Over 10GB so far. I use it as my home ISP and will continue to until they take away free tether. Then I will debate about root/tether.
Thanks to you folks, I will never be in the top 5% that get throttled.

I am at around 2.5gb. Had the phone since late friday afternoon (5pm).
After using the iphone since te 3g.. this is a nice change. I am liking it alot. Just need more battery life and i am set.
I'm at just over 3GB.
300MB Most according to TrafficStats is from the HTC IME and Touch Input.... like wut?

The LTE speeds in NYC are AMAZING!! Even downtown manhattan. I realize the airwaves are pretty clear rigt now... but i hope verizons network dont take such a big hit once it get saturated. ive gone as high as near 18mbps down

Something seems to be way off with the way the data is calculated on LTE.
If you look in the details of your usage on the Verizon website you will see that many of the entries have no actual usage details - only some do and if you sum up all the entries that do show the number of KB used - you will see that it is actually LESS than the number of KB showing on the main my account page.
My data usage patterns have not changed since i switch to VZW last week and yet it seems that i am using 5x more than what i used to use on at&t....it does not make sense at all. i don't tether and don't download anything.

.07 GB for wifes iphone 4. she got hers before me lol.
I use the hotspot for my ipod pandora and usually use phone more than comp or laptop for playing on internet.
1.3 gigs since launch. I haven't really been able to use it much though. And lte here is iffy.

Little over 4 gigs. When you tether and use LTE data goes pretty quick. If they ever do implent 2 gig caps like AT&T this phone will be damn near useless for me.

Here in Cincinnati, I've hit 30mbps a few times. I was getting those speeds at work, so wednesday I was going to take a picture of speedtest if it comes back that high again.
But usually I see speeds of 20mbps down.
I have had the phone since Saturday night, and I am like 2.8GB of data. Helps that I downloaded all the files to root my phone, on my phone, since its like 6X faster than my home internet.
Anyone else try gaming while tethered yet on like an xbox 360 or ps3? My ping is usually low 50s at my house. Might try that out tomorrow, just because I can
Okay, I just got my 3d and my download speeds are unacceptable. We only have 3g here, but on my EVO 4G I got from 980 to 1250kbps all the time. Now on my new EVO 3d I'm getting 25 - 100 kbps. I've tested over and over using different servers. This US unacceptable. Anyone else having problems? I didn't update the system. I got it from radioshshack. Plus there is debris trapped in between the lcd and the glass. I think I'm going to exchange it Tom. Other than that I love the phone.

no, but im going to do the updates now. I cant find a good enough reason not to.
I cant watch youtube, I cant even really surf the net. Its going back if the updates dont fix this problem. screen has a yellow/green tint to it too.
As someone linked to, I posted the same issue.
My average is about 30k download, but last night around midnight it jumped to 1700 down, which would be great. I have been told that the network is getting killed in my area with activations, so I will wait and see if thats the case until next week.
As a side note, I have all updates installed.
I was noticing the same thing. I was averaging ~250kbps on Speedtest App to multiple servers in good 3G coverage. Then I saw this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140870 and did as suggested, now I'm getting ~800kbps!
just got back from exchanging the evo 3d, I showed them the stuff stuck under the glass and they gave me a new sealed evo 3d. This one has no dirt in it and the camera switch feels better. But the data speeds are the same, I'm consistently getting 14 - 30 kbps. I tethered it to my laptop using easytether and get the same. I tested using speedtest.net and speakeasy.net on my laptop. So it must be the network. Ill give them a week or 2 to fix it before I call and complain.
It took 10min to DL the speedtest app! jeez

I just got done with the proxy mod and get a max of 202kbps (and it was only once). still getting consistent average of 35kbps......

Man, exact same problem I had - Took around 15 minutes to Download Speedtest. I did the proxy mod today and I am getting 150k at least, I can jump up sometimes but overall Im still around 70k, usually.
I should also mention that my wifes 3D Evo ALSO has the same issue as mine with the speeds, but I didnt do the proxy mod on hers yet - and I wont until I see some speeds in the 800k range for me, at least.

I saw spike on my 3g speed today on my evo 3d but i am still going back corporate sprintpcs.
My speeds were very very poor the first couple of days. Downloading a small app in the marketplace would could take 10 minutes. It would have moments where it would just sit there with no change in percentage or bits downloaded already. Its been going much faster now. Speed tests over the past couple of days did not exceed 5kB/s up or down. Now they exceed 50kB/s. Have gotten up to around 95kB/s yesterday and today. Perhaps the amount of OTA updates had the network all slow like.
Currently getting 326/168 kbps on 3G

After trashing the speeds on this device the Sprint gods have responded. Both 3g and 4g have dramatically improved in the last 24 hours.

So i have a new 3d of course, and i have been doing some of these tricks in our development portion.... one of them was pretty much a profile update... since ive done that, my 3g (which has never been good in the area im in) has be on point, i mean im getting 1.4mb down in an area that i could barely pull 400k before. i guess you can say im looking to see if anyone who has recently updated their profile on their phone notice a difference in our network. cant really say its taylored to the 3d alone, i tried it on wifes evo shift and shes getting the good speeds now too...
It's most likely the network congestion dying down. At my house when I first got the 3d it was low around 200kbps then went up to around 400 after doing the fix posted in the Dev section.
Now after checking today I am also at 1mb+ around my house and area, so either Sprint has been doing some work on their network or the masses have put down their EVO 3d's since launch. Either way can't say I can complain

I tested speeds on my trip home last night and my upload was consistently higher than my download. My download dropped as low as 7kbps, with 3 bars. My ping was 2200. Ping went down to 1700 and it then floated between 100kbps and 300kbps with 4-5 bars.
A couple hours ago, I couldn't stream music without it stopping ever 10-20 seconds to buffer. Now, I'm testing at 1.3mbps down and 500kbps up.

that was one of my major stick points... prior to these past couple days, i couldnt stream music, watch netflix or anything, hell even facebook updated slow.... now everything is moving, and i just ran another speedtest...
Its probably all the people running speed tests 50 times a day that are congesting the network... Kidding... But actually I've never had a problem really - i pretty much use pandora and slacker exclusively for music on the highest quality setting without issue.

Just curious... My speeds aren't what they should be. I can't even get through a HD video on YouTube without massive buffering.

3G or LTE? As far as I know, they aren't legally allowed to throttle LTE.
Run a speed test. It should be about 3-5 mbits/sec if your throttled on lte.
A good lte speed is about 15-50

If you can, swap sim cards with someone who has lte and definitely hasn't been throttled.. Then run the test again

Ok, so ran some tests, speeds are ok. But downloading from the market and watching HD in the YouTube are not good. Market downloads crawl along and YouTube constantly buffer. Any ideas?

I wonder. What might your signal strength be at the time you are trying to use data? I'm not talking about what it says in the signal strength indicator in the status bar but in the settings rather.
Got four bars..
First number is teetering in the mid to high 90s, second number stays a steady 8. I'm on a global ROM.
Your sppeds can depend on your area. I know where I live I can have 4 bars and be from 3 to 10 Mbps. Now if I go in to town I can get 15 to 20. Then if I go to my uncles place in the middle of no where I get 20 to 35. Just because you have 4g doesn't mean you are going to download at those speeds with play store. It depends on their servers and how congested their servers are. I have been on WiFi that had killer speeds and it still downloaded at the same speeds. Verizon doesn't throttle by your sim card but by tower location. If a tower get a lot of congestion they will cut the speeds of everyone so everyone can use the data. Once the congestion goes away they put the speeds back.
With that said I have heard people talk about when they check their account there is something on their account that means they are the top 5 percent and are throttled. I use from 50 to 75 gigs a month and never seen this throttling.

Absolutely what Jedi said. According to the signal strength I asked you to provide, everything seems in order. What I would do now if you are still concerned is just contact VZW about the issue and see if something may be going on in your area.
This happened to me before when I lived 30 miles out into the country, I had to contact VZW because my phone was getting slow speeds even though the signal seemed ok. They ran some tests and such and finally contacted me back informing me indeed a recent storm had caused the box on the nearest tower to be struck by lightning. They sent out crews and within a few hours my area was restored to full strength again. This may not be your case, but it might be worth it because VSW told me if I had not contacted them, they would not have known for a long time. Just a thought.
I'll have to call then. Just ran speed test, got 22mbp/s. Updated some apps. Download speed crawled. Turned ny home Wi-Fi on, speeds starting flying. Something is definitely wrong...
I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't use YouTube as a reliable test. YouTube has begun throttling video streaming especially during peak hours. I can't hardly stream an SD video around 6:00 anymore.
