Very strange thing...is happening to me over and over . and it is not connected to the rom version (I'm on the cognition 1.07):
The phone turnes off randumally...after long sleep...help?!?
It happens once a week....I think that after one or two hours of sleep/standby...or I wakeup in the morning and the phone is off.
Also had happen on any rom that I had.
Any one had that problem too?
Is it hardware or one of the apps?

I'M not in the all OVERCLOCKING madness and I don't think that I'm on underclocking... how can you tell?
also >>> the problem started after installing my first rom(madmack)....and I don't know if sooner at the the original rom
obviously it is not the ROM , and by restoring the apps&data >> titanium brings it back
I think it is one of the apps > but don't have any clue which one

Hi,
Having a few problems with my p500.
1st - all my appz keep closing (not force closing) to home screen as soon as i open them.
2nd - my market will not install appz unless i hit install about 15 times (same with updates)
3rd - i prefer to use the standard non-qwerty keypad, but for some reason it keeps disappearing when i go to type.
4th - i cant open my messages
5th - cant access gallery
6th - The return button will not work.
All these problems started at the same time. One minute it was working fine and then all of a sudden. Problem after problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hmmm? Go and reinstall stock ROM.
How would I do that?

Well, then you probably have a HW problem.
Do a factory reset. Hard reset if you may.

He just flashed stock ROM via KDZ. Not really much left to reset after that.
i had the same problem, just do the thing with kdz, flash the stock 2.2 and let er go
you're gonna have issues getting it emergency mode but once you do it you'll be good

It probably is a hardware problem if it's intermittent, but hey, whatever gets the phone working.

Hmmmm... would not it be better to RMA the phone while the warranty lasts (and the data are not lost)? I for sure would not want that is randomly completely unusable, requiring total wipe.

He should conduct a stress test of some sort to make sure that the phone is completely working. Would our standard benchmark apps like Quadrant or Neocore suffice for that purpose?

1st I want to say that I'm only asking if you guys experience same problem as i do..
so the point is.. I experience something not normal for me, my screen sometimes do not respond well.. like if you try scrolling, it would stop. but physical buttons do respond, only solution is turn screen off then turn it back on again for it to respond.
one day it gave me a hard time to make it respond, even by reflashing the whole rom didn't help at all.. weird, hope you guys understand my short story.. thanks for reading.
leave your comments bellow if any.

what ROM and Kernel are you using? checked OC settings? any additional apps running in the background without your knowledge? any recent apps you have installed?

I'm not sure what you mean by Kernel as I'm new to androids, was an iOS user ..
How to check if apps are running without my knowledge?
Yes there are many apps I recenly got!
Get better battery stats from the play store, and let it run for a charge cycle.
Also turn off all the silly Samsung stuff like face awake etc etc
Does a reboot help?

a sign that some hungry app is churning away in the background, that's why I suggested bbs to help find the cause.
This kind of thing is nearly always a rogue process, just a matter of getting to know your new os and learning its ins and outs

This is a serious problem...

OK so now I wiped data and cache and installed CM9 stable release.
I want to know what you mean by kernel and how to install custom kernel

Hi.
I had the same problem with one SGS3 from two I bought.
The one worked fine, but the second restart twice and more a day. I changed it in the shop. But the problem was still there. The akku was hot and after 2 hours without any input the akku was 0%.
I changed the phone the second time in the shop.
But also this device had the problems, sometimes the phone doesn't see the akku.
Then I had the idea, I looked into the device pressed the akku with my thumbnail and the akku worked.
With a little paper I fix the akku and everything is fine until today.

I am running Mean Rom ICS V3.0, S is on . My phone is freezing when left unattended (overnight and throughout the day) yesterday on a 9.5 hour drive it locked up 0 times while streaming music. Today it has locked up 4-5 times. So far I have cleared memory cache and such my next course of action will be to flash a new rom, unless someone has a better idea. I have searched on here and just on Google but not really found anything, but I could be using the wrong terms.
Thanks In advance
When I say "locks up" the phone is completely unresponsive and I have to hold down the power + vol for at least 10 seconds to reboot it.

I don't believe I am running a kernel, Only other thing I'm running is TeamWin recovery. I ran Mik rom on my old Evo 4G I just flashed it onto the LTE so I'll see if it's going to lock up.. I do not believe the device is over clocked I haven't over clocked it.

Just noticed today the phone is hot as a firecracker when this happens.
Please can anyone tell me what to do? this is my second LG optimus g and they both stutter randomly when bringing them out of sleep mode and them sometimes flat out power down while in my pocket. I have deleted all programs I could think of and have both rebooted, reset To factory on both units and it still happens like once every 7 Or so times I wake the phone from sleep. What do I do please?
Is the phone on stock untouched? Rooted? Custom ROM? N4 conversion? Details would help us solve your problem.

Completely untouched. Stock straight from the box
Did you perform the OTA? I'm not exactly sure but I heard that it fixes the sleep of death.

first thing first, get a battery monitor app like betterbatterystat so you know the type of process that is causing the drain - app, kernel etc...once you have that information, drill down from there.

Sleep of death...that's the name. Thanks I couldn't remember what they called it. Yes guys the sleep of death is what I hhave.
Now let me get this right. This is not happening to none of your phones (non rooted)?
Second, not that I'm not grateful and all but why would a OTA work when this is my second phone in a row brand new from stock that all of sudden starts to do the same thing out of the blue? Also my phones says I have the latest version. E97010o
And as far as apps it not a app memory issue. I eliminated all possible apps I have downloaded. It never happens in use only When I try to bring it out of sleep.

Ok I'm game. But I don't know how or What Rom to install. I want to use my phone just like it is without the sod and maybe jelly bean. But I hear Roms aren't stable and there are bugs and things that they don't due that were there before (use of WiFi,NFC,compasitive buttons use) . What software do I use (I tried one that didn't work. .got the drivers and loaded root soft from admin and it still didn't work). What is the perfect Rom? What is the easiest why to do this?
