Phone "locks up" when left idle - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I am running Mean Rom ICS V3.0, S is on . My phone is freezing when left unattended (overnight and throughout the day) yesterday on a 9.5 hour drive it locked up 0 times while streaming music. Today it has locked up 4-5 times. So far I have cleared memory cache and such my next course of action will be to flash a new rom, unless someone has a better idea. I have searched on here and just on Google but not really found anything, but I could be using the wrong terms.
Thanks In advance
When I say "locks up" the phone is completely unresponsive and I have to hold down the power + vol for at least 10 seconds to reboot it.

I don't believe I am running a kernel, Only other thing I'm running is TeamWin recovery. I ran Mik rom on my old Evo 4G I just flashed it onto the LTE so I'll see if it's going to lock up.. I do not believe the device is over clocked I haven't over clocked it.

Phone is still doing it...

Are you using any lock screen apps ??

Is there any way I can get a log of what my phone is doing? That might be helpful in solving the problem?

All my appz keep closing

Hi,
Having a few problems with my p500.
1st - all my appz keep closing (not force closing) to home screen as soon as i open them.
2nd - my market will not install appz unless i hit install about 15 times (same with updates)
3rd - i prefer to use the standard non-qwerty keypad, but for some reason it keeps disappearing when i go to type.
4th - i cant open my messages
5th - cant access gallery
6th - The return button will not work.
All these problems started at the same time. One minute it was working fine and then all of a sudden. Problem after problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hmmm? Go and reinstall stock ROM.
How would I do that?

Well, then you probably have a HW problem.
Do a factory reset. Hard reset if you may.

He just flashed stock ROM via KDZ. Not really much left to reset after that.
i had the same problem, just do the thing with kdz, flash the stock 2.2 and let er go
you're gonna have issues getting it emergency mode but once you do it you'll be good

It probably is a hardware problem if it's intermittent, but hey, whatever gets the phone working.

Hmmmm... would not it be better to RMA the phone while the warranty lasts (and the data are not lost)? I for sure would not want that is randomly completely unusable, requiring total wipe.

He should conduct a stress test of some sort to make sure that the phone is completely working. Would our standard benchmark apps like Quadrant or Neocore suffice for that purpose?

[Q] the phone turnes off randumally...after long sleep...help?!?

Very strange thing...is happening to me over and over . and it is not connected to the rom version (I'm on the cognition 1.07):
The phone turnes off randumally...after long sleep...help?!?
It happens once a week....I think that after one or two hours of sleep/standby...or I wakeup in the morning and the phone is off.
Also had happen on any rom that I had.
Any one had that problem too?
Is it hardware or one of the apps?

obviously it is not the ROM , and by restoring the apps&data >> titanium brings it back

Umm... no. Its not. For it to happen to a lot of people on different roms and kernels? You really think its a kernel issue?
It's probably an issue with cwm and it's also probably related to the type of kernel. To say the truth, I don't think it's that big a deal. It has posed no real problems to me when flashing, and if anything, removing the battery will do the trick. A minor inconvenience in an otherwise perfect tool.
yes, i encountered this issue too. I wonder how to turn off phone from recovery without take out battery
But NOT big deal for me

Its not a big deal, but its annoying. You'll have to wait till your phone boots to be able to turn it off. Taking off the case, then taking off the battery cover and taking out the battery is a lot of work to just turn your phone off.

Laggy after a while....

After use for a while....the screen gets real unresponsive. To the point where if I try to scroll down on FB...it will actually register a click instead of a swipe and open up the picture I happen to swipe over.....anyone else???

This only happens to me when I'm trying to use my phone while it is plugged in and charging. It acts all crazy, but once I unplug it the thing works fine. I pretty much keep my phone in ECO mode and haven't switched that off to see if it makes a difference.
Same here. I keep my phone on ECO mode and have no issues with responsiveness, except for once in a while when it's plugged in and charging.

That's horse ****! Someone has to come up with a fix for this! Doesn't eco mode cap the processors at 1.1 or something?

I DO have that problem with mine. I am unlocked, rooted and running nottach's Base ROM the problem has reoccurred with the stock ROM and versions 0.5, 0.6.5 and 0.7.3 .
It's probably a kernel-level memory or CPU issue because for most people it appears to be a specifically time-based problem. The longer your uptime is, the worse the problem gets. Reboot your phone and the problem goes away for awhile.

I've edited your post. This is a great example of the same phone, running a similar set up behaving completely different. The user you quoted wasn't doing anything other than stating that they don't have this problem so chill out a little and accept that each person can have a different experience and opinion. If you've got nothing useful to say, say nothing.

Dear Lord get me back on Jelly Bean!

God I really want to go back to jelly bean, kit Kat is a joke on the g2 nothing works properly anymore, my accounts don't sync properly so I don't get notifucations e.g no notifications on my phone but I open Facebook and there's loads, open Twitter and again loads, open email and gmail and again emails come through.
Quiet mode doesn't work without button bashing the **** out of the switch, quiet time timer just doesn't work reliably.
Knock code is intermittent sometimes it's really responsive sometimes I have to press the power button.
Battery life is nowhere near as good as jelly bean.
I'm done with buggy pile off ****, lg pull your finger out and fix it!

The only thing I can relate to, is the "horrible" battery life.
No matter what I threw at my phone on Jelly Bean, I would still get 4 Hours of SOT. Often times I only get like 3.5 hours of SOT on KitKat.

oh goddd ! !please god ! enough of the drama ! its a phone ! and its probably a bad flash, go do a full backup and factory reset your phone ! your phone JUMPED 2 android versions ! this is bound to happen. people who upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 and have a perfectly working phone are just lucky ! about 20 billion changes ? mayb even more under the hood. stop complaining and just do a reset. and about the battery life, i get 4-5 hours of screen on time with 20-35 hours on battery. and btw when i just upgraded and did a reset i got a screen on time of 2 hours from 100-5%., im no the exact same rom and after a week my battery is back to how it was on jellybean. ie the 5 hours sot as i mentioned earlier. GIVE IT TIME! and i repeat. do a factory reset

This won't be a fix for the battery life, but try doing a factory reset, mate.
That should probably fix most of the issues you are facing and as another member stated, the jump from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 is quite a large jump. Use LGBackup if your like to backup your apps.
Dear Lord, let me learn how to flash a stock v20d kdz and remember to do a factory reset especially after an OTA update. So I could stop being a drama queen and be annoying to others.
Regarding the sync problem, did you by chance update by clearing data from the Google Services Framework? If so, it can completely break your sync, the best thing would be to reset from a KK .tot

You're the one kidding, right? Often does not mean always. I can manage to get as "good" as SOT as you if I am home all day and connected to a wifi network. More often than not, I'm not home all day and therefore I don't manage to get such a brilliant SOT. fact is, though, that I would sometimes get 5 hours of SOT on JB and have 25% left - that included playing 30-60 minutes of heavy games.
