I know when I had my Epic, the big thing was CIQ, the alleged Sprint spyware package. Looks as if CIQ has a cache file in app-cache, but you need root to view it.

Anyone notice that this is running Sprint ID and not blur.Maybe that is why it is so slow. All the websites reviews are incorrect. I am pretty sure they didn't include blur in this phone.

Huh? Its overflowing with blur. Go into settings/accounts/add account. All those options are part of blur. The weird white
And colored widgets, like the 4g and wifi, those are blur.

Contacts, dialer, gallery, messaging, text messaging. All of it is blur.

He is probably referring to the hugely in your face earlier versions of Blur, not the current "don't call it motoblur" version of Blur they are using now.
Yea, its still blur. No hiding or denying it.

No I'm serious. The icons are skinned with Motorola. But go into sprint id and install a pack. Nothing changes. The default pack is considered an id pack.

Skinned with motorola = moto blur

I remember one review stated that Motorola said it wasn't Moto Blur cause it was revised. We all know it's Moto Blur though
No it is a moto version of sprint id. Go look in your system applications. Have you you never used a htc samsung or a different moto device? It actually has system files. It never used sprint id to be moto blur.

Ive owned a droid x a droid 2 and a cliq. I promise you the photon is moto blur. It has the same blur all the motorolas on gb have. Sprint id is a cheap knock off of htc hub imo.

I wanted to see what Sprint ID was all about so I downloaded the Social ID, all it did was download apps.....lol I thought it was some cool thing Sprint had but I was mistaken.
Lol. Same here. It just installs apps that pertain to the topic you choose.

I'm pretty sure you can't post an official app on XDA. Correct me if i'm wrong.
From my fist to your face, enjoy.
I thought it was just paid apps.

i am not a mod or an admin, nor claim to be one
typically they do not allow for paid apps or exclusive apps, that are tied to one carrier. Like VideoSurf for Verizon customers.
basically if it's a free app and can be installed on our phone via the market.android.com site it's okay to post.
If it is a .apk that is tied to certain phones, but not exclusive to a carrier, like the netflix app. They allow for that.
i am not a mod or an admin, nor claim to be one
but this one really boggles my mind since it's so easily downloaded via other means. Like Visiting Amazon.com
The official apk can found on Amazon's site.

Ok so some Guy did a post complaining about how doubt its cutting off his service, and in one of the replies, a portion basically says that tethering without paying is illegal, so is using that application to tether illegal? Just wondering
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Not sure if its illegal so to say but its definitely a breach of contract. If they caught you they can terminate your service. Doesn't happen often but it could.

Exactly.

Not illegal and cell phone contracts are not worth the paper they are printed on in half the states in America anyway. Just as long as you don't run torrents, you should be fine.

I don't believe that usb tethering is illegal per say, as long as you don't use it in a way that is "illegal" (i.e. copyrighted material) just the same way wireless tethering isn't "illegal" its just against your terms of service since every carrier would like extra money from that feature.
Is this possible? My friend just purchased a Samsung galaxy and he'd be helping me out a ton if I could put him on my plan (got a line on constant seasonal stanby).

I don't think you can because the ESN would have to be already loaded into their system, and there is no way to have them load it

I'm not sure this is the right place for this but...
I'm trying to replace the custom handcent notification icons with the emoticons. But I can't for the life of me locate where they are. For instance my girlfriend loves cows. I want to be able to set hers as the cow smiley etc. Anyone know what folder they are in?
Thanks
Shawn

But I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you. While not helping in the least, you've at least kept my help question bumped up.

Thanks for moving this where it needed to be. Sorry for any inconvenience. I'm thinking I just need to extract the apk, then replace the custom notifications with smileys. Does that sound right?

Yes Handcent is one of the apps that is made to crash if edited in anyway at all. So it is not modable.

Yeah it does but alot of apps are doing this. Even Google is making so modded apps dont work or cause bugs
There has to be a way around that.

After failing for months I contacted the handcent team and was informed that The way it was made was to self corrupt when ever it is modified. Even swapping images with a zip archiver corrupts the apk. Maybe 6.0 will be different
