Hi,
I use a stock rom (german, no branding) and if I start the htc-Album on my HD2 it freezes. If the SD-card isn't in it works fine and show the JPGs in HD2-memory.
On SD-card there are about 100 pics and some pics in the program folder (e.g. TomTom).
Any Suggestions?
OK no answer.
I found it. A defect video file (3GP) on SD was the reason.
Hi all,
I have a weird problem that started today. I was at work and tried to download a program (macro toolworks) to my laptop for work purposes. But since our security is crazy it wouldn't let me download it. So I downloaded it from my phone to my external SD card. I forgot to unmount the sd card before removing it. I pulled the .zip from the sd card to my computer and put the sd card back into my phone. A few minutes later I went to take a pic of something cool (i'll post that too), but i got an error. I tried uploaded a pic to Facebook, but when i tap the link from the Facebook app, I get the attached error message. The gallery will not show any pics. If I navigate to the DCIM folder with ES File Explorer, I can open pics fine.
I've been running ViperRom 2.0.2 since it came out with no problems. I tried rebooting, battery pull (via power button hold down 10+ seconds), connecting to 2 different PC's via USB, connecting to wall USB, and throwing a temper tantrum. None of the above worked (although the last one made me feel a little better)
Attached is a screenshot of the error message and the pic is what happened when a MicroSD card slipped out of my hand and landed on my desk at work.
Copy everything from SD, format SD, copy everything back and should be good to go.

Thanks! I tried that but it didn't work. I get that message even with no SD card in there. I'm just going to do a full wipe and flash. Hopefully that fixes it.
Edit: Full wipe and flash fixed it. I think it had something to do with SU...
Hi guys, a colleague at work asked me to move photographs of her late father from phone memory to SD so she can take them to get printed. So I plugged the phone in via USB, cut the images (which I now regret not just copying) and pasted them in the DCIM folder on the SD card. Seemed to do the job. No errors or anything.
10 minutes later she returns, and tell me they have vanished. I just thought they wouldnt be showing in Gallery for some reason but when I plugged the phone in via USB the folder was completely empty. I am baffled and obviously feel awful about losing the photos.
I've tried an app called Rescan SD but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas on how I could get these back or why they disappeared in the first place?
Thanks
As to why they disappeared, that's anyone's guess. Try Recuva (Google it), might get them back (tell her to back stuff up in future if it's important as well).
Edit - Re: why they disappeared, seems after you cut them something caused the contents of the clipboard to be deleted outright. Normally in Windoze if you abort a cut/copy>paste, whatever it is you were trying to move stays put in its original location/is untouched. Obviously that didn't happen in this instance. Whether that was an outright Windoze barf or whether there was a transient issue with connectivity between the phone & PC that caused it to barf badly enough to 'lose the files in transit' perhaps, is open to conjecture.
Was it seen in the gallery before it vanished?
Its a file transfer issue. If you are connected with mtp mode, always copy the files to destination instead of cut feature. And if you copy a file from source-close the source- and then paste it in destination, the copy won't be successful.Source window has to be opened while the paste function is pressed. You can, however, cancel the window while its progressing.
If the files were seen in the SD card and then it vanished ,it might indicate that the card is faulty.Try any file recovery software ,the process time to recover files depends on your system config.
All the best.

Same thing happened to me after coming from a Note 2. I think it's because they used different file systems. Anyway, I tried a chkdsk repair on the drive when I had it mounted on my pc. That recovered some of the stuff, but I lost quite a lot.
I had the same issue going from the Galaxy S5 to the Z2. My whole Camera folder on the SD card was wiped. Only about 300 photos... FK U Sony!
so there is no sulutions for this !!
Hi, you can go to setting, app, then camera, click on clear cache and date, then go to album, click on clear cache and data, then reboot your phone.
After that, it will be fine. pictures saved to SD card will not be lost again.

In the future though, it's best to back up the contents of your SD card and manually format the card before inserting it into another device.
There's a saying in the world of storage. "If it's not backed up, it's not important".

Some days ago i try to transfer all my photos from internal memory to SD card. (sd card/DCIM/Camera).
And i THINK that all photos pasted just fine (I open albums(galery) and all images are there).

But all images are smaller and quality is poor.
Please help me is there any chance to return my images on phone ?
