[Q] Voice Dialer not working (CM7 1.1 thunderbolt) - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For some reason, voice dialer does not work on my Thunderbolt. (See title for configuration)..
Just says Try Again.

I never use it so I never noticed but you seem to be correct.
It may be related to the mic problems for video recording (just a guess).
In the meantime, use Google's Voice Search. Does the same as Voice Dialer but works for more than just calls.
Works similar to Voice Dialer in that you just say "Call Doctor" and it calls or brings up a list of possibles.

[Q] Confused as to how SIP, GV, and Dialer integrate on Archos

Right now, I am unable to make outgoing calls from my Archos 43 running UrukDroid 1.0 (I've tested using stock firmware 2.3.26) and I don't understand how I'm supposed to make calls by routing my call through google voice if I have no dialer. My setup looks like this: PBXes provides SIP -> use IPKall for a free washington state number -> use to validate google voice with a softphone (I used 3CXPhone). The only successful way I've been able to make calls was using 'connect with phone' on the google voice site, which called my sip number -> address and I was able to receive the call using Sipdroid base. I'm not going to have desktop access to google voice all the time though, so I tried CSipSimple as well, which just hangs up right away (Sipdroid hangs up instantly when you try sending the call) The weird thing is, it shows that Sipdroid is dialing [email protected] rather than the actual number, which makes sense to me because it's an SIP dialer/client. Now, I want my calls to be routed through google voice, not sent to my SIP provider. What is the easiest way to do this? Thank you!
Edited:
Setting up a trunk and outbound route in PBXes or using SIPSorcery (it doesn't actually provide SIP) just plays some really weird opera music on every outgoing call.
I used fring for sip and that was working ok.
comes with its own dailer and you can use the normal contacts.

[Q] Google Voice - AOSP Compatible?

i noticed on Google's website, it shows a google voice call being made over the normal dialpad w/ some Voice splash on the screen.
I am using CM7 and there is no splash visible and no indication if voice is even working. Does anyone else here use it and on a Sense or AOSP ROM?
Works fine on sense. You press one to answer calls made to you on your google voice number and i have it set up to ask me if i want to use google voice when i make my calls or not
Sent from my TBolt using my f***king thumbs...
Same here I use CM7 which is AOSP
Sent from my Thundebolt running CM7 RC1.5.2
It doesn't matter what you use, sense or aosp, google voice works. You can make voice calls through google voice from your desktop (the screenshot I think you're referring to). On the phone, the google voice application allows you set it to make all calls using google voice.
Here's the caveat. Calls through google voice from your cellphone use the actual cell connection. It first dials the gvoice call center, and then routes to the number you dialed. If the gvoice call center's phone # is in your 'calling circle' or whatever, it's all free minutes.
It sounds more like you want to do VoiP...replacing skype, or fring. Make voice calls over your data connection, am I right? If that's the case, grooveIP has REALLY impressed me. It connects to your google voice account, and makes calls using the same voip interface as the desktop screenshot thingy (calls from the desktop browser).
That, or a complicated set up involving SIPdroid, sipsorcery, gvoice, and a 3rd party SIP service (there's a few free ones).

Google voice typing in SMS works 50% of time

It seems that voice typing in SMS only works when I am on WiFi. If I have full signal 4G, I can go to an SMS and try to voice type and nothing happens. The Mic just appears with a dotted line around it and it just sits there. Just in case, I downloaded the language pack to allow offline voice recognition.
How can I fix this?
BTW, I am on MIUI, but it didn't work on CNA either.
Thanks!

Google Voice not calling out

I'm having a problem with Google Voice. I have Google Voice set to use for all calls, but for some reason when I try to call out the call dropped. I am able to receive incoming calls on my Google Voice phone number, but nothing outgoing. Has anyone else had this issue?
UPDATE: I've reverted to the Viper ROM and now I can call out on Google Voice. I cannot be the only one who has experienced this with CM 10.1. Anyone?

[Q] miui 5 evo3d cdma + gvoice outgoing calls

I just installed miui5. I have used cyanogenmod for years and I like to be able to call out and have google voice intercept so that the people I call see my gvoice number. This doesn't seem possible w/ the latest miui
found Here
Some people suggest going to Settings\Programs\Calls menu under the heading 'Other call settings' but that doesn't exist as far as I can tell. Maybe it is from an earlier version. Any suggestions?
