I am currently preparing to get the Evo 3D. One important item is to have my music with me, which is what I am having trouble with. Doubletwist and WinAmp seem to have problems with almost all my album art and some song titles (I currently use iTunes). Do you think HTC Sync will fix these issues or are there other options besides fixing them manually.

So today I noticed something very odd about my music. It seems that on both the stock music player and on PowerAMP when an album has more than 1 disc, it doesnt recognize that there's more than one disc. I've got all my music tagged correctly in iTunes...but when I import it to my phone, I get track listings that go 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3, etc etc etc(an example of an album that has 3 discs). Anyone know why this is? Or how to fix it without having to go and redo ALL of my music in iTunes so it doesnt do albums with multiple discs as such.

I hadn't noticed that, but mine does it too. What a fail.
Yeah, a pretty big fail in my opinion.
I haven't noticed this but I always tag my multi-disc albums by adding "Disc 1", "Disc 2", etc after the album name.
Not sure if this would make a difference but try Winamp and some other music players. Maybe another music player will resolve the issue without requiring manual renaming of the album tags.

Ok, so I've been using the stock android music player for over 2 months now. It has all the functionality I want in a music player except maybe editing tags (album name, artists, etc) and finding album art (Album Art Grabber is my current solution to this).
The problem I have been having with this player is that when transferring music to the phone via 'Windows Media Sync' option is that sometimes the album art will not appear on the phone (happens to quite a few albums) and also the tags will be messed up. For instance, just recently I turned the phone on and was browsing my music library and all of a sudden the song titles appeared in lower case (ie. 'Tighten Up' became 'tighten up') I know this is a small thing but I find it annoying a little. Other things like artists will appear as 'Unknown'.
Anyone experience these problems as well? What programs/apps do you guys use? I've tried out poweramp trial version and it does allow my to edit tags but I was wondering if there is an app that is a sort of one click 'Find Album Info' like in Windows Media Player?
Check the music player called Neutron on the app market

hi there..
I embedded all album arts into the mp3s in my pc using mp3tag... all working in my pc...
so i copied all the mp3s into my sensation XE.. all the album art is not displaying in the stock music player like it shows in the pc..
i tried viewing all the mp3s in my phone using another pc, all the album art is there.. but the phone is not displaying.. any help?
I'm gonna bump this one.
I have the exact same problem. I've used hours upon hours on sorting my music through mp3tag, giving them new names, making new folders, finding and embedding artwork in tags, and so on. And when I decided to throw it all on my Desire S, it almost didn't show any artwork at all! I shows like 1 percent or so, the rest is just blank.
Now, I know the phone can show it, cause a lot of the music has been on the phone before and showed artwork. BUT.. the problem was it didn't show all artwork (only around 90 percent or so), so I decided to transfer all my music onto my 64gb mincro-sd card once again (have around 50gb of music), only this time having sorted it all through said mp3tag.
I've used both the stock HTC music player, Winamp, Doubletwist, PowerAmp and others, but noone seems to be able to load all of the artwork. It propably has something to do with the android media scanner, but I have no idea how or why, everything I've tried seems to fail: Clearing the media scanner cache, restarting the phone etc. Maybe it's due to some spacial limitation on 'new scannable media' in incoming media scans on startup, who knows.
All the artwork shows up beautifully in Winamp on my computer, but not on my Android. And it pisses me off, as I'm actually quite fond of the whole Android experience. But as a music lover it's just soooo annoying that it's so terrible at handling music and related artwork.
I could of course use e.g. PowerAmp to fill out missing artwork, but it'll propably only work for the app itself, and I have too many albums to be arsed to do it all over again. As said, I already did use so much time on embedding artwork to id3v2.3 tags, and I just don't understand why the phone can't load those tags and related artwork without problems.
Anyone tried the same? Something similar? Other thoughts?
I use Android 2.3.5 btw.
SAME HERE
BUMP! as well!!!
owning a droid razr here and i have the similar problem as well... BUT I CAN SEE MY ALBUM ART AT THE LOCK SCREEN
other apps such as doubletwist etc are able to show my album art but the STOCK music player doesnt even show a SINGLE album art...
i classify all my song in their albums like a;ways and tag them from mp3tag...
100% sure they are there but they cant seem to show up on the app
Hope ics update will come earlier and fix this???
BTW
my phone had successfully shown the album art the first time i uploaded them into my internal storage but now it cant seem to work as before any more
after syncing them to my 16gb sandisk microsdhc....
now syncing it to my interal storage doesnt work as well...
Bump. Even downloading using album art grabber, and setting it to overwrite the default artwork, it doesnt stick. Plus, everytime i restart, all my artwork needs reaaplying, everytime i copy/to from the card, the artwork messes up, and my playlists vanish. Album artwork has already been pre-embedded, but winamp wipes it on transfer, forcing me to use album artwork grabber app. Is there ANY way to make these changes stick?
I can get my music to sync, but the playlist are not syncing. I have all my music in different folders under "Music" each sub-folder acting as it's own playlist. But for what ever reason, it won't add the playlist, only the music. I've tried some other programs like Double Twist which worked great for my old EVO, now doesn't recognize my new HTC EVO LTE. I've also tried HTC Sync, but it also was unsuccessful at adding playlists. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions on what is wrong, or perhaps another sync program that can utilize the playlist in itunes or makes playlist based off of what folder the songs are in. Thanks.
Hello, I having issues with the HTC Music player as long as I have my phone. I like the way it looks, but there are some problems:
- It includes all sorts of other audio files as "music" (ex. recorded audio-notes from evernote)
- Sometimes it shows some albums twice listed some songs in album one and some songs in another album, even when they're in the same folder. (I think this has something to do with some database not updating.)
- It completely fails on coverart (slightly improved with Sense 4.0's gracenote-integration) I already found a solution for this: this app
These problems exist on all version of the Sense music player, from the one on Sense 2.0 to the new Sense 4.0.
I would like to know if there's a way to fix these problems. I will update this post with solutions, and I'm sure there are more problems with the Sense music app.
(not sure if this is the right forum)
For Updating your Database try:
Settings->Apps(All)->Media Storage->Clear data
