Hii,
I root my atrix, and then use the GladEnabler on it, But when I try to install the recovery its says that the app from unknown source, what should I do?
Edit
sorry but I tried to post it on the Q&A
Read the directions.
Read the directions again.
Read the directions a third time. If you do not understand a step, ASK before starting.
Download the script
Extract the files to C:\GladEnable. Do not install anywhere else. Having it inside a folder with a space will cause the script to FAIL.
Enable USB debugging (Settings -> Applications -> Development).
Connect your phone (I recommend setting USB Connection to 'None').
Run GladEnable.bat (If you're using Windows 7, run as admin by holding down control and double-clicking).
Follow the on-screen directions. You will need to tap "Allow" on your phone for each step.
Make sure you allow the superuser request on your phone or it WILL fail.
All done!
If you´ve done everything correkt don´t know whats wrong.
what kind of recovery is it you want to install?

adb is threw computer and you have to have the phone USB plugged in and in debug mode.
And to use terminal you download a terminal program off the market there are free ones
If you're asking to check if its disabled just use terminal.
with adb you have to download android SDK on PC ...ect too much of a process.
when with terminal all you do is type "mount" to check if disabled

You don't need ADB or Terminal to disable Voodoo. Use your desired file manager or mount it via USB. Go into /sdcard/Voodoo and make a file named "disable-lagfix" (no extensions) and then restart.
- ADB: In order to use it, you must have the proper environment set up to use ADB. My tip is to download: http://de.codeplex.com/ and it'll setup the SDK environment for you the easiest.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719 this is the guide you want to use to get ADB working
Terminal: Search for "Terminal Emulator" on the market and there you go.

the OP obviously doesn't know how to use the Search feature so INSTEAD of being the "typical xda user" (like yourself) i decided to be nice to the OP and give the information he needs in his thread rather than telling him to use the search feature

MOD'S PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD!!!!!!
hi guys, i dont post buy i read and learn alot, keep up the good work!!!
it all started when i tried to use the gps in my DHD 2.3.3.
it just wont lock on sats, even though it sees them though very slowly..
i read that i have to change a file in the system dir to manipulate the AGPS.
i tried that but it says that i dont have the permision to do so, so i read further.
i tried to temp root and perm root and the whole shabang, just to fail time after time.
can PLEASE (loosing hair over here) post a step by step directions to change a content of a system file? i just want my GPS to run (i already checked the contacts of the antenna and ordered another one just to realize it behaves the same...), all other benafits of rooting is not relevant for me..
i realy dont care if i need to root it, i'm just looking for a detailed step by step guide (or guides...)
BR
Liron
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Download GPS Status & Toolbox, I don't believe you have to be rooted since I was never prompted by Superuser.
Select menu > tools > manage AGPS state. From that screen first reset, then download.
I don't know exactly what you're trying to do, but try that first. It helps.

nope.been there done that
i think that the agps servers are not correct (the dhd hase a file which contains the servers adresses) i need to change this file, but i need super user in order to do so..

So you need help with rooting or with changing the file? You'll definitely need root to edit a system file.
If you're not rooted, can you not take it to your carrier and have them fix/replace it?
If that's not an option for whatever reason, you may have better luck looking around (or posting in) your device specific Q&A subforum.
Good luck, hopefully you get it fixed!

Once you're rooted, uninstall GPS Status (it's been known to cause problems - I speak from experience) and flash an EFS wipe tool through your preferred Recovery. Just check your device's thread for the zip file.

Hi, I've read a lot of threads about this and have found no feasible answer to this (at least for me). My Atrix 4G running android 2.3.4 on Blue Chronic firmware "HomeBase Mega4 - Gingerbread 2.3.4" shows a blank field in the "My phone number" section. I know that using a Sony Ericsson or an old Samsung phone will allow me to edit this on my sim card, however I do not have access to either of these types of phones. Has anybody found a way to edit this on the Atrix itself, either by using SQLite editor or even using Root Explorer's text editor? I can do it easily if I can just find the fields that need to be edited. Please help.
Any possible solutions will be much appreciated.
Also does anybody know where I can find the .apk files after an apps been installed, do they get saved to a folder on the phone like a computer's "Temporary Internet Files" folder when you just click "run" in the dialog box?

Now I still need the My phone number info, hopefully someone has that info....
You can edit the phone number using CM7
hmm, I have blue chronic right now, maybe I'll try to install CM7 again, last time I tried my phone soft bricked itself.. well, I soft bricked it...
Edit: Thanks for the tip though, I'll try it again...
Update: For some reason I am unable to install CM7. No clue why, I'll do a little research and try again. In the mean time if anyone has any other possible solutions, they would be much appreciated.
Still having trouble with this, if anyone has any roms other than CM7 that they would recommend that would be nice.

Just download the Rom Manager app from the market, it should let you know if your recovery is up to date and offer to update it for you if it isn't
Okay, I stated doing that after I saw your post, but just to be on the safe side, what is the recommended version, or if you're not entirely sure, where can I get it?

You have to use the cd (change directory command) in your command prompt to get to where you fastboot program is so for example if its file path is c:/androidtools/fastboot.exe
you would have to open cmd and type
Code:
cd c:\androidtools\
and then you could run any fastboot commands from there
if you don't already have fastboot it's here

It's the same for me
I had that problem when I switched my carrier. I have not came across a ROM for it that allows SIM number change. If you dont have an issue installing this, use that to change your number, otherwise you might need to borrow someone's blackberry phone to do it, most of the BB's are known to be able to edit SIM numbers apparently.
I ended up digging out my old Acer Liquid E running CM7 based ROM which had the SIM number option and worked like a charm on my current SIM (it is the proper number now). But this option is no where to be found on the Atrix's CM7 ROMs

what should I do???
i dont have a zlimage file or initramfs.cpio.gz file
help me please...
Hi guy.
Which rom do you want install?
If you want to keep archos firmware and have root, install Chulri's kernel. It works like a charm. Just download the kernel (see his post) and unpack it, it calls avosxxxx if my memory is good. Select the kernel correspond to your version of rom.
Try others rom with different kernel and initramfs.cpio.gz, like bull rc2 or urukdroid.
Read the 'how to' it's usefull
Else try recover -> reset android or reformat device AFTER download another rom on archos website ( aos file).

Read the end of my answer. You can reset android system. Search in menu, i have remove archos kernel and uses only sde. i don't remember exactly the name of this menu.

Try this:
Backup yours data if you need - all data will be wipe after the reformat device.
Download this:
If you have a 70 first gen:
h_ttp://update.archos.com/8/gen8/gen8_2.4.83/firmware_archos_android_gen8.aos
If you have a 70B froyo version:
h_ttp://update.archos.com/8/gen8v2/gen8v2_2.4.83/firmware_archos_android_gen8.aos
-Go to boot menu (vol up+power)
-enter recovery menu
-format system
-reformat device
** connect the tab to sector and wait the full format **
after the format, it tells you to put the image file on the tab.
Looks your drive and put the AOS file on the drive's tab.
press power to validate after the transfert and the tab reinstall fully the system.
I hope that will help you.

Under SDE:
Try to reinstall your wifi app, and reset all cache and uninstall it again.
If it doesn't worked, try to go to /data/app/ and remove the app. Next go to /data/data/ and remove all files in relation with your wifi software. (use rootexplorer or other similar app).

@kumoto:
Please use the right terms, as you will not get the correct answers.
There is no poweruser, you might mean superuser.
And as you can only be using Chulri's root, you can find the cure in the first post there under the point about the UnionFS.

Don't worry about the library. You can root without a PC using the KingRoot.apk. Hers what you need to do.
Download the KingRoot apk from here:
http://androidmtk.com/download-kingroot-application
1)if you haven't already done so, enable developer options in your settings by going to the "about" tab in settings, scroll down to "build number" and tap on it 7 times to enable developer options.
2) enable USB debugging in developer options
3) enable OEM boot loader unlock in developer options
6) enable unknown sources in Settings-Security-Unknown Sources
7) install KingRoot apk
8) run KingRoot
9)Bam! You are rooted. You can also install BusyBox.
Let me know if this works for you.

Softbricked my Coolpad Rogue 3320a with SuperSU.
My only options to fix are:
1. Finding someone with a 3320a who is willing to dump their working system.img and upload it for me, so I can download it and fastboot flash the working system.img, to overwrite my corrupted system.
2. Waiting for stock rom to be released.
3. Smashing it with a Hammer.
