I couldn't find the answer anywhere, but I would like to know if anyone tried to flash the Retail brasil Firmware on At&t Atrix.
Sorry about the question, but I'm used to deal with N1. I am reading a lot about Atrix but it is still a land mine for me.
I don't think it's possible. ATT Atrix != Int'l Atrix

I don't know about that. Maybe I am wrong, but there are two models of the Atrix in the world: Atrix and Atrix 4G. I think the only differences between then is that the Atrix is HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100, and the 4G is HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100. At least, talking about hardware.
I am still a little bit confused how Atrix works. N1 is very easy two deal with.
If I knew about Motoblur before, I mean... how it works, I would never buy a motorola. At least the bootloader is already unlockable, and maybe in the near future we can flash "real android" version, like CyanogenMod, without all the bloatware from motorola.
I want to try to flash the retail brasil on my at&t phone. But I'm afraid if anything goes wrong, I'm not going to be able to revert.
Unlock the bootloader extract the system.img boot.img and webtop from brasil sbf use the moto-fastboot to flash them. As long as hardware is identical shouldn't be a problem. I mean look at all the users who have flashed the HKTW 2.3.4 on their at&t atrixes.
e ai deu certo??? o meu atrix parou de pegar a frequencia da tim..do nada!!só pega vivo e claro...vontade de jogar no lixo

I don't know if Brasil Atrix is identical to at&t. I think it is since both of then have same 3g frequencies (850/1900/2100).
I am a little bit frustrated with Motoblur. If someone says to me that I have to use motoblur forever with my Atrix, I would definitely sell my Atrix and buy a HTC or even a Samsung phone. Motorola is weak in software engineering.

Motorola Atrix 4G should work correctly in Brazil 3G? I know that atrix doesnt have 900mhz frequencies, but carriers here have 2100/1800/850 frequencies... i will buy one on ebay unlocked, whats a good prince for it? 400 usd?
another question is, whats the restrictions of motorola on this phone? there is a good some time that i dont hold a motorola phone, my last phone is a x10i from sony...
it have 2.3.x or 3.x firmware? should a buy this really?
You must take in consideration the bands and frequencies for voice and data. Chances are that it could work on voice but not 3G/4G data (only Edge speeds), but please check what voice and data bands your operator works on and compare with those on the Atrix.
What do you mean by 'Restrictions'??? If you are talking about the encrypted bootloader, yes it's encrypted and Motorola is well known for being one of the best to handle encryption. However there is a small light at the end of the tunnel and there seems to be hope that either Moto will unlock it (doubt it myself) or Devs coming up with a way to overcome this limitation.
All in all the Atrix is a great Smartphone even on it's current ROM state.
Cheers!

Here they are selling the first model, if you see the comparei, it just have add the HSDPA 900 frequencie and removed 4G from title....
BUT they are U$ 1,600 USD (R$ 2,600). 4G is a protocol right? so, i think 4G phone will work on 3G band, correct?
Should I wait for Galaxy S II (i dont even know the release date for it...) ? I really hate wait.

Well no, 4g is not a protocol per-se, it's just a fancy way of saying fourth generation ...
So yes, a 4g device can be used on a 3g our even edge network as long as the bands match.
Good luck

$1600USD????? Holy crap. They retail for $599cdn here (Atrix 4G) and I think that's steep.
Yes, 4G phones also work on 3G assuming the 4G/3G bands are compatible.
Thats the price on Brazil... R$ 2,600 = 1,595 USD
Thats why i wanna buy from ebay or anything like. Another question is, why this phone on ebay comes without 'original packing'? i have broght anothers models on ebay, but every atrix that i found on ebay comes without packing (but, a good price range... 500 usd).
Is true that i cant install apps from Android Market even if i buy a AT&T Unlocked phone because i need to flash to enable sideloading apps?
Could you not buy a Bell version which already has sideloading enabled and no tethering restrictions? The Bell version seems to be the same as the international version as any leaked sbf (with the exception of ATT) has worked on it so far.
As for the market, I can't see why sideloading would affect market app installs. Sideloading is for installing apk's from your SD card, etc, AFAIK.

The 4g is atts way of saying hspda+ as its still just fast 3g.
As for sideloading on att atrix, yes you can enable it by rooting and using gladenable.

Well, i was searching and i noticed that here is no section here for the 3G GSM version of ATRIX, just the 4G US version.
What about the european or south american (or even asian) versions? Does all this custom roms works for them too?

They are the same device essentially, and I'm pretty sure they're 4G enabled, just worded differently. They support HSDPA 14mbps (Cat 10) / HSUPA 2.0mbps which is HSPA in the US I think.
just the at&t atrix is currently unlockable but likely the international ones are getting unlocked with update so currently it is just possible for at&t atrix to flash custom roms, and the thing with the 3g/4g naming is region specific but the same hardware.
Here in germany 4g is lte, actually lte is called 3.9g so we don´t even have 4g

Fixed that for ya!
It's the same phone
Just switches automatically to 3g. But in EU the carriers have very expensive prices for hdspa connection. So i use it in 2g mode (leeeesss of battery consume).
Ok thanks to all of you very much. I'm a little outdated about wireless technologies and i tought 4G was cdma-based stuff. So hsdpa-hsupa are 4g gsm based technologies? I can flash my atrix with a custom rom with no problems?
Another thing that bothers me is all that acessories that comes in the pack. Remote control, dock, hdmi... will all this stuff work with the custom roms?
One last thing: Can i use it on hdmi without that "hdmi modes", just displaying whats on my screen like a game or movie, like i do with my xoom?

Just out of curiosity, do all Atrix use the same 3G bands?
If not, wouldn't that affect software porting?

but th eofficial specs on motorola's website say 14.4 down and 2.0 upload, not 5.76. are you sure its 5.76Mbps HSUPA?
I just want to clarify something... I read another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991912) that suggests that you can enable UMTS 900mhz on an ATT Atrix (though the specification over at Motorola says it doesn't have it).
Can I just get a confirmation that I can or cannot turn on UMTS 900 on the Atrix (be it by flashing a radio version)
Running a stock but rooted ATT MB860 Atrix 4G with baseband version N_01.7.30P...
Bump... why do I have to keep doing this?
If there's any different radios for MoPho?
I wanna get UMTS 900 working on Photon. I know that it's not listed in the specs, but so as for Atrix 4G, and guy here flashed another radio and got UMTS working.
So, if there's any info about MoPho?
Where i can get stock radio, so i can try another one?
If Atrix 4G's radio will work for Photon? (I suggest hardware is pretty the same).
Any input on this is appreciated.

from what im seeing here
-----The phone operates at frequencies of CDMA 800 / 1900 / GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Mhz. -----
i would think it would work does it not work for you? , the photon community is still working hard on getting everything unlocked fully and right now what seems to be the main focus for the dev community is getting roms and wimax to work on an unlocked bootloader,
OK. first of all i'm personally not interested in CDMA part.
It operates
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
UMTS(WCDMA as i understand) 850 / 1900 / 2100
Local operator uses UMTS 900. So EDGE only for me. And i got H+ icon with another operator.
But i suggest the only difference is the radio flashed in the phone.
One user on XDA reported that he get UMTS 900 working on hit Atrix 4G. (Atrix got the same freqs listed as Photon, without UMTS 900).

so far as i know they havent gotten a full unlock of the frequencies they use and since the photon is really sprint only here in the states, it makes it hard to jump from one band to another since no one really has it, i know that in japan they had a wimax photon, that one might be a shot i just have no clue where to find a sbf file for it nor whether or not it would even flash to the sprint photon, are you out of the US and if so which provider?
There's a topic with leaked sbf that says wimax working. not sure if it's from japan.
I cannot find any radio in .zip or .sbf file. If i could find one, even stock radio, I could try flashing one from Atrix. Dunno if it help or not, but why not to try?
Yep, I'm out of US, in Kazachstan.
Beeline and Tele2. Second one require UMTS 900.

talk with joker or shabby they should know where its at, im not that far into developing as they are, im just trying to learn as i go
This is definitely something i would like to see happen in the future. Im moving to Sydney at the end of this month and plan to take trips frequently to area that only have dual band coverage on Optus (UMTS900/2100). So until someone hacks this i will only have 3G in Sydney where they have HSDPA2100Mhz.
Well i have a AWS Streak From Cincinnati Bell Carrier locked, i bought the phone from a guy that said he put the Power_Rom on its the 1.2 Build
Its
2.3.4
GAUSB1A134934-EU It should say aws at the end
2.6.35.7-perf
ASK's Power_Rom
1.2
Is their anyway i can change the baseband back to an aws version so i can get 3G or is their no way to do that i did some searching and could find any certain aws baseband versions. And this phone is an aws version phone i had check and verified with cincinnati bell.
Is it unlocked now? that's the only thing that really matters.
Its not unlocked i check when i got home i put in a tmobile sim att sim and and a international version sim and they all say carrier locked and ask to put in a code but it works fine on the cincinnati bell sim but only gets edge
I also checked the apn settings and everything is correct
Well unless you happen to have a cincinatti bell in your area then, it wouldnt matter as it's still sim locked
I dont think you get what im trying to do
I live in cincinnati and have a cincinnati bell unlimited plan 4G/3G
Im just trying to know if i can restore the baseband back to normal to get the 3G back
and if so what baseband could i use? Right now the phone is acting like its an EU
European model on my Streak box it has UMTS900, UMTS1700, UMTS2100 And its the
M01M002 so its AWS
Is their a way for me to do this are am i screwed
Oh, I guess I misred it then, as I figured you lived in europe from the title.
You cant change the sub-model, it's physically impossible. BUT 349 is the cincinatti bell rom.
If it were a different rom i'd suggest reinstalling 349, but that isnt an option as that rom has never been dumped (i have no information at all on it except the version number)
When in doubt, install 360 and work your way form there, the files and instructions are on the xda wiki.
If your device is truely GAUSB1A134934-EU then something went terribly wrong somewhere.
I did as suggested and everything went smooth but it still says eu
Is their anyone with an aws update pkg?
And is their a such thing as an aws amss.mbn?
Any help would be great, but I might just sell it and get another streak after tonight.
Basebands dont care about whichever submodel you have.
I cant say what you should do, if you were the original owner i'd say take it to CBell and ask them, but who knows if they'll support a 2ndhand owner.
