Sense FC? - HTC EVO 3D

On my device, htc sense keeps force closing. It happens at least 15 times a day. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on what's causing it orhow to fix it? I've done all ota's.

Hm. Sense usually FC's when you have too many things running and Android tries to quit Sense for memory. Two questions:
1) Have you restarted your phone at all since this happened?
2) Are you running a lot of apps in the background?

Another thing to think about is, are you closing apps after you're done with them? If you just hit the home button when you are done with an app, it is left in a running state and still consumes RAM. You need to hit the back button to leave an app to close it, or go to the task manager and kill it. Might also be a good idea to make sure you don't have anything in running apps that shouldn't be there. last week i noticed an app that i never opened after a reboot, had a service that ran 24/7 consuming resources, needless to say i went ahead and uninstalled that app.

mmm no problems here, haven't had a single FC since I got the phone.

Is it actually Force closing, with a pop up message? Or is it just crashing, where suddenly you'll see the white screen with the green 'htc' logo, then sense reloads? If the latter, then yea I've had that happen a few times, and have no clue what caused it. If you have had actual force closes, where it pops up and says "sorry, htc sense has force closed' or something to that nature, then no, I have not experienced that at all.

It is giving get me the little popup that htc sense is force closing but sense never crashes and reloads when i hit the close button. Also i do try to close apps when im done and occasionally close some out in the task manager.

Android Market Issues?

Ok, so my market is slow, won't load and won't download anything. It keeps freezing on the "loading" screen. Google needs to fix this Pos.. seriously
My real issue is, all of a sudden, all my pay apps are trying to make me buy them again. When I go under my apps, and select an app I already paid for.. instead of saying "install" it has the price next to it.
Anyone else?
Are you a custom rom user? E.g. cm7? And what phone?

Yea I'm using Myns for the EVO 3D.
it's doing it on other roms tho.. I figured the market is taking a dump, yet again.
Do you use a task killing app? Free more Ram and load again, or try downloading the market.apk separate from forums, they might have a slimmed one like in nightlies for wildfire, I had same problem until my market was skimmed to work faster

It's all good.
The main thing I'm worried about is why it's trying to make me purchase my apps all over again..
Mine tried that a few times, reboot to try to load the licenses again, works for me after new roms get installed it decides I should buy again and reboot fixes, but don't fastboot or you'll probably have the same problem.

I get the paused at 'Loading...' issue.
Force stop and clear data and you're good to go.

Done that numerous times, even turned airplane mode off/on like I used to have to do when in some AOSP roms. I restarted several times as well.
I think it will download the apps now, but, I'm not buying them again... that's my main issue
Try the old market. New market is just buggy and unstable.

Yeah I've read that the new Android market 3.2 is pretty buggy, I couldn't even buy an app on there. I think market version 3.1.6 works better or just go back to the old market.
Indeed, the new market is extremely slow. Especially on 3G.
I've had more problems installing beautiful widgets after a rom flash than I can shake a fist at. Every app I've paid for on my list installs fine, but when I click install on Beautiful Widgets it just sits there, loading... All I do now is ignore it and go play angry birds or watch youtube and try again in 5 minutes, it'll work sooner or later > >
After I wrote this I made a hard backup of BW so I don't have to download it from the market anymore
ya the new market has a lot of bugs. The way I fix this problem is just to force close the market app. It usually fixes that problem. If it is still there after force close, clear data on the market app and try again. Hope that helps.

[Q] Anyone else can't log into Openfeint?

I haven't been able to log into Openfeint on three games... One gives me an error message, with an option to wait for it to reload and start. This offer course caused my phone to reboot... Anyone have any suggestions or workarounds?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
I fixed it. I deleted the Openfeint folder and pasted my old folder from my DInc.

I'm having same problem only I don't have an old folder to paste. Anyone else have this issue with a fix?
Try deleting the folder after saving it somewhere. Then log in when you start a game with Openfeint connectivity.

Have you had any issues with using Openfeint? I really don't know what it is but I downloaded a free app of the day from Amazon and it's a game that uses it and since then (I think that's when this started) my status bar keeps force closing. Half the time it restarts itself, half the time I end up rebooting to get it back.
I uninstalled that game but it's still happening.

Yeah, I moved it into a folder I made on the ext card just in case I needed it. We'll see if that fixes things.

Home screen

Hey all, just a weird issue going on. This is my first HTC device so I'm not sure if it's normal or not.
When I'm in any app or app drawer and hit the home button, "Loading" message pops up, and stays there for a good 10 seconds before the home screen pops. Happens each and every time.
Any ideas?
I have not had this happen to me once in the four days I've had it.

It is happening to me. Though, I run memory hog apps. That is the problem you're experiencing. Resources are apparently given to the apps and when you go back to sense (the home screens), android has to re load it. I'm supposing.

its a bug, its the htc sense reloading, it doesn't keep active in system memory like it should. someone in the one x forums has a fix of you are rooted and comfortable with some command line editing. otherwise, wait for an ota fix coming.
Happened to me once so far.

I have chrome and all kinds of madness installed, but this setting gave me the slow home screen when returning from any app.
Yes its happened to me a few times. Not enough to complain tho.

Just happened to me after supercharging my phone. I changed the "keep at most ____ processes" to 4 (recommended by someone in another thread), so I'll report back if it helps.

This was the answer! For me at least. That was driving me nuts! I thought by turning that on it would have made it faster but no. You saved me countless time with Customer Service if I would have called before checking here. Thank you!

Gmail, Maps, Calender Crashes... It's been months and I couldn't solve this

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I've been trying to solve it by clearing cache, wipe and replace the ROM. But nothing.
Here's the problem (you may mute, my roommates are loud and make no sense)

Nope, I think every one still got that. The only temporary solution is to reboot. But I have seen it happen then too.
Best to wait a few years till NVidia/ASUS can sort this out... (the coming update is suppose to address this, but my hunch is it wont be a complete fix).

I actually solved this:
The behavior is caused when you terminate the Gmail app via the recent app menu.
The app does not appear to handle that case gracefully (shame on you Google). I've tried everything before (resetting, rebuilding Davlik cache, etc.) and nothing worked. But, ever since I've stopped killing the app via the recent app menu, the problem has completely ceased.
Every once in a while I do it by accident and there's a 100% chance that it will crash on a subsequent use when that happens.
Ok, at least I'm not alone. Sometimes it works, but 70% of the times I can't even read an email.

I would assume that a task killer app (including the asus one) could cause the same behavior.
Have you actually tried Factory Resetting?
EDIT: Stupid questions -.-" Wipe = Factory Reset LOL ...
Have you looked at your logs at all? I'd venture to bet it's the same issue I have ALL THE TIME:

[Q] Phone is struggling to make phone calls, com.android.phone constantly crashing

It's an EVO 4G LTE, got it when it first came out, stock. No root or anything, never even tried with this phone. Recently it's been refusing to make phone calls. I click someones name to call, the phone freezes for a few seconds or nothing happens. I get the com.android.phone has crashed messaged a lot. Also happens to my messaging app, GO SMS Pro, which crashes pretty frequently as well. What do I do?

Sounds like a lack of free memory to me... Do you have a lot of apps installed? I've never had any use for Go apps because they use a ton of memory and cause lag.
Your best bet is to open the task manager app to see what apps are using the most memory and then uninstall them.
The other alternatives are to do a factory reset to wipe your phone, or better yet, root and install a custom Rom with better memory use (meanrom is my suggestion but there are plenty of options)

If that was the case, wouldn't I not experience these problems after immediately force closing everything? Because the problem persists and is pretty random of when it shows up and doesn't.
When u install apps u give them certain permissions....so when u stop the app it could start back up

You said your phone has been refusing to make phone calls.
Perhaps if you treated your phone better it might do what you ask of it.
If it refuses any more, hard reset it and show it whos boss.
If it clears up then you know right there you had a bad app or a memory issue..
