Hi, if you install Opera, Dolphin and say FF, and you then try to access a weblink, the phone will ask you to chose your browser.
Select any browser. Now if you click another link again, select a *different* browser, then click a link within that page... you are redirected to the page using the first browser you used.
It doesn't seem possible to have say the default browser, and opera opened and browse sites on each.
I hate bumping threads... but I hate not knowing how to use multiple browsers even more

XDA Forum,
I am quite a newbie when it comes to changing the stock software with devices (although I navigate stock software fairly well) and I had a question about the location of Browser Downloads.
I already installed preware and updated the basics for my touchpad (not overclocked yet), and I installed the file browser Internalz. I was trying to find the location where the browser downloads its files so that I could download and view necessary pdfs without going through box.net. I enabled the option to view hidden files and alas I am still lost.
Basically whenever I download a PDF from the web the browser opens a new card and asks if I would like to download. I hit it, it downloads, and then poof I can't find the file, even when I enter USB mode.
I was wondering if there is anyway to track the file and open it through a third party file browser so I can at least sometimes try to find a file a downloaded (whether it be PDF or not).
Thanks!
I have the same issue.
I can't download any documents with the native browser, so I'm using the enhanced one.

Does the enhanced one let you download and set your area of download properly? Also, which one are you using and is it off preware?
Hey everyone.
Im looking for an app that allows to save web pages for offline reading. I found Pocket, which has this function, but it seems to work sometimes and others it doesnt. Sometimes I open a downloaded web page when Im at bed to read it and it doesnt show up, maybe because it didnt download it correctly. Other times it seems it needs an internet connection to open the web page in web view.
I never use the article view. I always prefer the exact same web view.
Also I would need this app to have some sort of backup method, so I dont have to redownload all my web pages over and over again whenever I try a new ROM.
Any advice?
Thanks.

The Ocean browser in the Play store can save Web pages for reading offline.
Its not an app but there's a site called offliberty that can save a page for offline viewing through your browser. Never tried on a phone/tablet so idk if it'll work.
Stock AOSP Browser allows this.
Pocket (formerly ReadItLater)

I have used "web to pdf" to save a bunch of diy's from a car website. It works really well.

So recently, this issue has appeared on my Hero. For some reason, I am not able to load webpages in the stock and many other web browsers , on 3G and WiFi. When I try to load website, the browser tries to load the page but it keeps loading forever and nothing actually happens.
This happens to the stock web browser, in-app browsers (e.g. when you authenticate Facebook, Google, ... in an app), a lot of browsers from the Play Store, ... The only browser which actually can load pages, is Opera Mini. I can stick with that, but I want to fix this issue because I can't e.g. authenticate Google Drive in Titanium Backup, authenticate Facebook in a Facebook app, ...
Does anyone know how to fix this? I really appreciate some help.

I've rooted my G3 and have had issues with pages not displaying in full site views @ all (e.g. Accuweather) or incorrectly (e.g. Google Play) for some time now. I get "Server Error...Connection refused...Error 500" when trying to display pages in full site views in Chrome and Dolphin browsers. Other sites, like Google Play display incorrectly/wonky in full site and mobile views, meaning almost in a pure text view, no page search bar, etc. Also, I've noticed when going to the Weather Channel site, the page language displays English and Chinese/Japanese = odd. I've done a factory reset and still have this issue. I know this wasn't a problem before but I don't know if the rooting or use of of post root apps have done the damage. Right now, all I have are some basic rooted apps - ES File Manager, Cerberus, AdBlock Plus, SuperSU Pro, Titanium Pro, Webkey, Widgetroid, and Tasker. I've searched for answers and even went to LG for help, but nothing is resolving this issue. I'm @ a loss of what to do...anyone help, please?
What browser? I've had weirdness with the AOSP browser(s), never used Dolphin, Firefox, etc.
Chrome, both stable release and beta, work fine, altho I generally do not prefer full site view. If Chrome, perhaps try deleting Data then completely uninstall via Root Explorer / ES File Mgr by deleting the .apk in System/Apps, reboot, and download Chrome from Play Store.
It's the default browser with the phone, which is Chrome. I've tried Dolphin to see if it was Chrome and the same issues show up. It's odd that these problems didn't pop up until recently. I first noticed it when I tried to go from the Accuweather app to a detailed forecast via the app and noticed the full version webpage would not show. The more I looked into the issue, the more sites I noticed similar problems along with the newer issues mentioned.
Will the uninstall/reinstall create any issues since it's the default browser of the phone? I don't know if other parts of the ROM will falter when I try that fix.

Have you tried disabling the ad blocking? I have had problems (on a previous device) like this with certain ad blockers in place.
In my country some popular sites, like reddit, netflix etc are blocked, so in order to browse them with my phone, I'm using hosts file (the one in /etc). The problem is it worked perfectly with Chrome but doesnt work at all in other browser like Firefox and Opera. It also doesnt work when I tried to browse reddit via reddit app and reddit is fun app. pls help. thx before

To use blocked websites try incognito browsing or any vpn app....
If hosts is problem then try to disable data saver in those browsers if present....
Hope this helps
