I was going to go for the Sensation but with all its problems I would rather get the EVO 3D. I havent seen too many complaints about the EVO 3D unlike the Sensation with its touchscreen, Wi-Fi grip of death, dust under screen and lag problems. I wonder why the Sensation has so many problems and the EVO 3D so few considering the fact that they are almost the same phone bar the 3D camera on the EVO 3D and they must have come off the same production line.
Anyway, are there any other UK peeps looking forward to the release of this phone next month? Vodafone already have it on their coming soon page but I,ll be waiting for an unbranded version.
http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/htc-evo-3d
I've gone for the Optimus 3D as HTC would not respond about the Evo 3D coming out in the UK, pre-ordered but just been told today they have them in stock but LG have told them not to ship until Friday which means I won't get it until next week
Im waiting for an unbranded version too

why they said before that is gonna be in July?
vodafone still has it up as due july
Late August/ early September sounds just about right for the unbranded version. If Vodafone get it at the end of July they would need at least 1 month for their exclusive period to make them any money. IIRC It was the same with the Sensation, Vodafone got it about a month before the unbranded version came to town.

OMG WiFi grip of death & touchscreen problems? I didn't realize the Sensation had those issues.
Just called up T-Mobile UK - As my contract will end next week, so i need to upgrade my phone > spoke to one of the sales rep;
Asked her if she knew anything about the Evo 3D as Vodafone were getting it and i really wanted to stay with T mob etc etc, she replied by saying 'I have no clue about the phone you just asked for' :O.. Dayyum..
Is Vodafone a good network to switch to? and can i keep my current number if i do switch to them..?
I WANT IT!
I'm on Voda and they are fine never had any issues with them.
Yes you can keep your number. You need to order your PAC code from Tmobile before taking out the contract with Vodafone and give Vodafone your PAC (Port Authorisation Code). PAC codes are usually generated within 48hrs at most and normally take less than 24 hours to transfer. Once the signal stops on ur Tmobile sim, your Vodafone sim should then be be activated in less than 2 hours. You are advised to swith off ur phone and turn it back on to let it signal search. Repeat until a signal comes up.
Hope thats some help.
I'm not affiliated with them at all, but when you're changing make sure you go via topcashback. Vodafone are offering £150 cashback on some deals, Tmobile are offering £80.
My tmobile contract is just about up as well, and that Evo 3D is looking very, very tempting.
Hi my impatience got the better of me today so i started a chat session with vodafone.
info: You are now connected with an upgrade adviser.
Bhumil: Hello, you're chatting with Bhumil, one of Vodafone's upgrade advisers.
Bhumil: \How may I assist you today?
You: Do you know when the HTC EVO 3D will be available for me to upgrade to?
You: I know it is showing as coming soon
Bhumil: Well we do not have any official information on that
Bhumil: Once HTC Launches it. it will available for an upgrade
You: Ok thank you. Is Vodafone supposed to be the first UK network to get the phone?
Bhumil: Yes exactly
Bhumil: We are the first who provides it
You: Thank you very much. You have been very helpful.
Hope thats some help to others.

You are very welcome buddy!
Ok so the initial release of the Evo 3D was beleived to have been the 11th of July initially for Vodafoane to have the handset within the UK. That has long since passed. The coming soon page has had the Evo as "coming soon" since the 28th June. On my search around the internet I have had various romours, and guestimates, and even what others have been told by Vodafone representitives themselves.
I found this dissapointing information a guy posted from a chat with a vodafone advisor....
Here is a transcript of live chat.
You: I am interested in joining Vodafone and I like the HTC EVO 3D you have on the coming soon page. When I asked an advisor when I could pre-order it they told me it would be mid July when it is release but the coming soon page is not been updated yet. Do you know when this will be ready for pre-order?
Dhaval : Well it is scheduled to be released in september but no specific date out yet
Dhaval : However you can register for its update online and you will get updates automatically
You: Yeah I am regestered but havent heard anything, why have HTC said July and and advisor of Vodafone also say July and now it’s September?
Dhaval : Well we also havent had any word from HTC, so may be there is a delay in the release date
You: Amazon and Play have this for pre-order for release of 5th September. If Vodafone release this in Septemeber then this would mean you do not have any exclusive rights and this is open to all carriers?
Dhaval : yes no one has exclusive rights and Vodafone will also release on the same date once it is released worldwide
Unsatisfied and annoyed with what I found I wondered if this was another guess by a vodafone rep and wondered what i would be told myself if I chatted with them. Surely the information would be identical or at least very similar right?
Here is my live chat with a vodafone agent...
Arindam: How can I assist you with your online Order today?
You: I wanted to find out if you have any idea when vodafone will be getting the htc evo 3d?
Arindam: We understand that this particular handset is going to extremely popular therefore we have a specific section of our website where you can register your interest and we will then keep you updated via email with the release date and any other news on the handset. "coming soon" click here. .
You: I have already registered, but so far have not received any updates. Does vodafone have any expected release dates?
Arindam: Sorry our higher management have not informed any release dates for the same
You: I understand that 'management' have the last say of info but The HTC Evo 3D has been on the Vodafone "coming soon" page since 28th June so 26 days now. How much longer will the wait be? My current phone has problems and keeps shutting off and I am in desperate need of a new phone. The only reason I intended on staying with vodafone is for this phone but my patience is running low and i'm now considering moving elsewhere for a better tariff with another phone.
Arindam: I understand your situation, however the rumor is that it may get released by mid of next month
Arindam: I am not committing on the date as it is just a rumor
You: So the middle of August?
Arindam: Might be yes according to the rumor
You: Fair enough. I guess i will have to wait a bit longer.
.............................................
So, so far we have been told 11th July, mid July which have now passed. A July release which is looking increasingly unlikely. Then we have 2 conflicting chats with voda reps. So is it going to be release July, August, or September?! Who knows?
I would love to hear others thoughts on this, and also if anyone has had any other information whether similar or conflicting please do share. If we have enough users chatting with vodafone reps maybe we can build a truer picture of what really is happening? Maybe, maybe not. Could be worth a shot though.
Thanks, Mark
How the hell can it be chedules at september for you guys. Here in the netherlands we have 4 shops wich already allows you to preorder. ETA: all august. One site says expecting shipping date: august the 5th.

Thanks for the info buddy. It does seem to be getting a little silly with the conflicting info we are getting from Vodafone UK. Supposedly Vodafone UK were supposed to have the UK exclusivity on the Evo 3D but this seems to have change based on the latest info. I do hope all the information we have had recently is incorrect and that it gets released tomorrow. Unlikley, yes. Impossible, No. Wishful thinking, damn straight!!
@ejmjs, i know how you feel and i'm just as frustrated as you are! i've been following the evo 3d as my new phone eagerly since the beginning of may, and was expecting it to launch on july the 11th (like you say, it showing up on the 'coming soon page' in june led to me believing it would make that date). Then i heard somewhere that it would be the last week of july, which is this week, but that looks unlikely now. Now i don't know what to believe
I went to ask in a vodafone shop last week, and the guy said mid august. i was really hoping it would be released in july, and i would get it in august- because although i want it ASAP, i'd want it to some better deals to pop up to make it more affordable (and better deals usually pop up a few weeks after release). who knows when i'll get my hands on one now.
Doesn't seem like this thread has been made so i'll put it in
HTC will be shipping this phone in the UK from July (sometime), and crucially they've said it'll come with an unlocked bootloader (after everyone went crazy on facebook against it)
And im on the pre-order list

this is about the 6th or 7th thread I've seen since the announcement on Monday
Not concrete but the manager down Phones4U said (when i asked him) > The Evo 3D UK will drop here on the second week of July, most likely July 11th for Vodafone (exclusive).
He couldn't verify for sure as they still have not heard from hTC about an actual date or when any other carriers would pick it up.

"We expect the release date to be early September. However a confirmed date will be announced in due course"
I always thought the "EVO" line of handsets were a sprint thing.

There is a GSM too
It is £569.99 at Amazon.uk It also stated that the releasing date is 12 September.
However earlier news claiming Vodafone will release it on 11th July. They better do otherwise I will trash their shops.
Well, i was hoping that the July release would be worldwide and not just for vodafone. since i dont live in europe i will have to wait til september
Any new on its due date yet ?
None at all
That's annoying
That's the soul reason I don't have that phone
Come in Q1 2012
I have a call with Nokia and Nokia says, that in until march (maybe in february) comes a firmware-update or an specific app in the marktplace for tethering.
Thats good news.
It was promised for January update, but not delivered. New promise is "within next 2 months"
I know they said release near end of may, but damn its the 17th of June already. Im looking for the Tmobile version. Anyone got any hooks?
It was always supposed to be released in the end of June in the US, which we now know it will be on several carriers, T-Mobile included. The May release date only ever applied to the international release. That information is all over the internet.
AFAIK, the galaxy S III has not been released in the US yet (it has been released in the rest of the world). You can thank your carriers for the delay.
US Release date is between 18th and 21st of June , depending on carrier.
Today is the Saturday the16th, not Sunday the 17th in Eastern US.
AT&T, Sprint and TMobile are supposed to release on Thursday, 21-Jun-2012.
