Hello,
I flashed JT's CM7 (Test build 7) yesterday, and I absolutely love it.
However, I have a problem involving In-call volume.
If I press the up and down volume buttons to adjust in-call volume, the volume stays the same although the graphic indicator bar moves.
For all the other volume settings (like media volume, alarm volume, etc) seem to be OK.
Am I the only one who's experiencing this problem? =(
Can anybody please help me to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, everyone is having that problem. It is a problem with the libaudio driver. It was a hacked driver from the nexus s that was hacked even more on top of that just to get it to the level of functionality that it has now. When jt has some time, I'm sure he will rewrite libaudio and the volume issue will be improved.

Does anyone have fix for 50% sound/volume bug on AOSP roms CM7/MIUI?
What bug are you talking about, i have CM7 nightly and no issue like you say?
The bug is the volume doesn't go higher than 50% when using headphones. Using the speaker is all fine however.
There are solutions out there - modding some settings or there's an actual app - Cyanogen_SGS2_VolumeFix or google "VolumeFix for SGS2"

thanks for the help... but does it actually work? I mean do you get the same sound output as original firmwares.
I have tried it and it does not work correctly...maybe its just me.
Does anyone know how this bug is caused? I have apparently heard that some people have it and others don't. And the bug isn't about volume but rather the threshold that the volume slider in AOSP Android responds to button presses from the volume key.
I would appreciate all the help
Try the fix in my sig. I can't say I've experienced this "50% volume bug" in my several months of owning an SGS2, but the app in my sig boosts the volume thru headphones/a headset significantly with only a relatively minor loss in sound quality.
Supercurio has also released an app which only works with a limited number of kernels so far (Only Siyah 2.6.3/4 as far as I'm aware) which provides a quite nice up to 6dB boost in the sound level thru headphones without any loss in sound quality whatsoever.
Well thats the thing, volume is not the issue. The issue is that the bug causes the volume slider to go only about 40% before being unresponsive. The volume is capped at around 70% I think. Effectively, after 40%, your volume bar is useless and thus the bar jumps a huge amount from the 70% in volume to 39% (I don't know if that made any sense...)
I want to try and fix it but I don't even know where to start

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I've been searching for many weeks but have not had any luck. I've swapped ROMs and kernels many times to no avail. Is there perhaps a way to modify certain system files with regards to sound that might fix the problem?
Hey I am having some major sound issues with my device. The only changes I have made are rooting it. Sound modes seem to have no effect on volume sliders. When the volume is on and if I go to vibrate mode or silent mode, nothing happens. All the volume stays on and will continue. I tried bypassing the issue by installing volume control + with no results. Volume sliders were not changed by the app either. Anyone else have this issue, any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks
Update: Resolved, there was something wrong with the root package I used the first time. I used a new one and all is good.
Afaik 'silent' only applies to alerts and notifications such as the phone ringing on incoming calls. It does not apply to the multimedia volume.

The issue includes notifications and ringtone. They both continue to play at normal volumes in silent and vibrate mode.
Changing to cyanogenmod fixed this issue for me.
Apologies if this has been posted and answered previously. I have been having this annoying problem with the volume sensitivity on my phone. When listening to music, when I adjust the volume rocker, the sound output is either too low or too high. I want something in between. I.e. when I click the volume rocker just once, the change in volume is too much! Is there a way to make it less sensitive? Does anyone else have this issue?
My phone has installed turkbey rom gingerbread v37 with 2.6.35.14-N.E.A.K-1.3.3x kernel. Android version is 2.3.6.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated
Hi,
I am facing an annoying issue with Volume control at Resurrection Remix 3.1.0. (maybe at all AOKP builds). The volume slider does only take somewhere 7 steps (the half of the slider) to reach max volume. Slider will walk forward, but volume will not raise anymore. the volume reached by this half way is loud enough, the problem is, that lowest Volume ist still to loud and the granularity at all is very poor, does not find adequate volume level while listen musik, always need to play around 2 levels. Read somewhere that this could maybe fixed while changing framework to add more steps, but have no clue how to do.
I am the only one noticed this annoying issue?
Any ideas how to solve?
Thx!
I'm facing with the same problem too in CyanogenMod, but it seems to fix itself when I'm listening to music through Poweramp.
Hi,
thanks that fixed the music issue. Think poweramp will replace the for long time used mixzing player, if I am not able to find a usable player for free.
Volume issue still remains with Video player BSPlayer. any alternative for this?
I would really apreciate to find a solution to change the granularity in the settings or patch it myself to be able to choose what ever player I wnt to..
Thanks and regards
Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with low notification volume. When I select the volume and sound in settings, it sounds fine, but when I get a message the volume is very low.
Has anyone else had the same problem? I've tried a couple of different roms (currently on Existenz 3.1.5) and still have the same problem. Any help would be greatfully received (especially as I keep missing my wife's text's.....not a happy bunny )
