I an on 1..83 gladiatrix and I want to try a kernal I an not unlocked but if I can do that without having to start over with loosing everything w/o tb is that possible? I just want ny phone faster but it isn't an emergency by any means. Can I get on this kernal wave?

What's a kernal? Or do you mean kernel?
Could mean a Colonel, actually.
The current kernels are based on the 1.2.6/1.5.7 source which is not compatible with 1.8.3. If you flash a kernel now you WILL brick your phone.
I suggest waiting for the imminent official gingerbread update for some speed improvements if you do not want to downgrade.

Kernal if defined by someone having two or more chins. The fat rolls under the persons chin and the head expression accociated with it give that person a kernal head.

Just a little curious whether people here already have the new baseband or not. I still don't have the new one, but I might get it if majority of the votes are "yes".
TIA

No for me.
I'll wait until everything gets stable

Don't think the baseband matters too much. I flashed the official gb a week back but found no real improvement... plus the battery life sucks in gb.
Flashed back 2.2.2 today. Nothing gained nothing lost.

Can you be more specific? Are you looking for one for your phone, how to get out of boot.img, kernel source for your phone, etc.?
Sent from my HTC Hero making C.R.E.A.M.
I didn't get your question buddy. You need to be more specific.
Looks like your using a Samsung intercept. Sprint or VM?? You can go to sda.com to the forums and use brom which is a good one for that phone. And the kernels will be there too, in the forums of course. You can also get a rom and kernel here on xda in the intercept forums but you gotta make sure your using the right ones for the right build of the phone and if your looking for eclair PR Troy. There's 4 builds each I think. Two for sprint and two for VM. I had the ec07 one and was happy with it at first but it didn't run like I would of liked it. But if you help with it hit me up in a pm and I can help.

You can install joker kernel and undervolt as well as putting profiles thru setcpu. Lower screen brightness all the way down. Just a few if the top of my head.

Can i flash roms and kernels with only being rooted? Or do i need to unlock?
And whats being used on photon?
Does rom manager have cwm built in or does photon require a flashable cwm or bootstrap?
Seems everything is not as easy as was on the evo.

What do u mean by both version?
Links to locked version i dont think im gonna unlock but id like to try a new kernel compatible to stock rom
Im hearing rsd flash fails for almost everyone that tries and ends up bricking
If rsd flash method was 100% safe id try it.

Custom kernel REQUIRES unlock
First time I've heard of it consistently bricking phones and I rsd flash BOTH my mophos a couple times a week. Even when rsd says "fail" I've never had an issue when doing it properly (factory reset from settings/wipe from recovery/rsd flash).

Hi there, i'm no expert in this, but i should imagine that if you made a nandroid backup of your stock rom before installing CM7, you should be ok to just restore that.
I have already installed cm7 buddy nd stupidly I didn't make a backup I understand that I can't completely restore it bck as bl will always be unlocked I just need the stock T-Mobile UK 2.2.2 rom

I can't be 100% sure about this, but seeing as you haven't installed an official 2.3.4 GB, you might be ok to flash the official stock 2.2 froyo t-mobile firmware. Head over to the super firmware thread and have a look there. As i've already said, I can't be 100% sure about this, hopefully someone with a lot more experience than me will chip in and give you the assurance you after, sorry i can't help you anymore my friend.

No problem my friend, if our official 2.3.4 GB update isn't here by next week i'm going down the same route as yourself, unlocking my BL and installing either CM7 or Alien. It seems that us in the UK get left behind when it comes to official software updates! !

Bump cmon people someone must know how I'm desperate here
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
I think the brick problem is when you flash a gingerbread sbf and try flashing a froyo sbf...but I've done the same as you. Except I backed up my original stock rom.

I think so too but just wanna make sure before I do it lol

Hey folks,
Newbie question: Haven't screwed around with rooting and the like in a loooong time.
I recently installed the ICS leak (through .exe) and then rooted it.
What would be the easiest way to obtain BLN access?
Can I apply the Dag kernel to the ICS leak, or is there an almost stock kernel w/ BLN added in that I can just flash over?
Thanks!
