Try whiping Dalvik cache after the install, then a couple of reboots. Fixed it for me.

Same problem here, any solution?
After installation wipe davik cache like TimmyHate say. If stil didnt work do ful wipe (factory reset) and reboot cuple of time
Sent from my U20i using XDA Premium App
After 3 or 4 failed installations this was how i make it work
StockRom->Cyanocomb as always->finish the setup reboot 2 o 3 times->go to Cwrecovery->Wipe Cache and dalvik,also factory reset, reboot 2 o 3 times
that's how i make it work

Similar to what I do on most Rom's:
1) (After making CWM backup) Wipe EVERYTHING (Cache,Dalvik,Battery Stats and Factory Reset) prior to installing
2) Install ROM
3) Reboot, Allow to run for 5 minutes.
4) Reboot again, allow to run for 5 minutes
5) Reboot into Recovery, Wipe Cache and Dalvik.
6) Reboot, Allow to run for 5 minutes.
7) Reboot, Allow to start up fully to post Pin
8) Reboot one final time and your ready to rock.
The reason (my understanding, I could be wrong and if so, someone with the knowledge feel free to correct me) is that The multiple reboots helps to build the Davlik Cache which encourages stability, and the Wiping after installing the Rom ensures no leftover Junk from a previous ROM remained.
I have it to but i've changed rom to SonyBread4
Why don't you change to sonybread 4??? its android 2.3.4
the newest
Install cyanocomb 1.3 or make a factory reset
Sent from my mini pro running CyaNoComb by d4
Same problem
rebooting and clearing cache is not solution. only sonybread can solve that.
but sonybread does not have asian language pack

1. load a backup of stock rom + root +cwm
2. wipe dalvik, cache and factory reset
3. flash cyanocomb 1.2
4. wipe dalvik, cache and factory reset
5. reboot phone
and for cyanocomb 1.3
6. wipe dalvik and cache
7. flash cyanocomb 1.3
8. wipe dalvik and cache
9. reboot phone and enjoy
hope it helps

I followed this sequence:
1. Installed CWM (ClockworkMod_Gtab_v08)
2. Tried to install G_Harmony_Gingerbreadv2.2.zip (4/6 update)
Got this error:

E: failure at Line 3:

Installation aborted
Finally restored from the backup... anybody else got this error or has any ideas on what is next?
Try again? Sometimes it takes a couple of tries - someone else I know had the same problem and it worked on his second attempt.
You could try formatting, wiping data and cache, and wiping your davlik cache.
OK, managed to reproduce this - you'll need to format system, then format data, then wipe data/factory reset. Then, try installing again.

Thanks, did the following:
1. Format System
2. Format Data
3. Wiped Data/Factory Reset
Tried installing the G_Harmony_Gingerbreadv2.2.zip (4/6 update), it installed, then I tried to immediately reboot and it is stuck in the ViewSonic logo screen (for 10 mins then I rebooted again)
Next tried this:
1. Format System
2. Format Data
3. Wiped Data/Factory Reset
4. Wiped Cache
5. Wiped davlik cache
Tried installing the G_Harmony_Gingerbreadv2.2.zip (4/6 update), same thing again it is stuck in the ViewSonic logo screen on reboot.
Anything else I can try?
Hmmm, I've done this twice now, without a problem. I did the same 5 steps as you posted, then installed G-Harmony, but I also installed the GAPPS.zip before rebooting.
One thing you might try - do the three wipes again after you've completed the install.

Just to check if things exactly equal,
I have rooted with CWM Recovery v2.5.1.1-bekit-0.8
also I am using the version of ROM that was loaded 4/6
Did you use exactly these two. Let me again try what you suggested and report here.
try flashing the latest kernel after u flash the rom
http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/
and make sure u do Wiped Data/Factory Reset, Wiped Cache, Wiped davlik cache before and after you flash it

Yes. The only thing I did differently was to install the GAPPS.zip and do the Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, and Wipe Davlik cache after the install was complete, but before rebooting.
I was unlocked and rooted, but still on the stock rom.
I finally got around to installing the Alien rom and I was greeted with this message after install.
When I go to update it force closes. Its showing 3.0-beta2 as the latest version but force closes when it goes to check installed version.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you havent already done this....
Go into rom manager and run fix permissions. This can be done with Romracers CWM as well. Give that a shot and try it again.
Edit: Also did you do the full wipe routine before and after the alien rom install? Even though the ROM says its a full wipe, still do it manually before and after.
Hmm, I hadn't opened up ROM manager since this change.
It says "You must root your phone for ROM Manager to function. Superuser was not found at "/system/bin/su" or "/system/xbin/su"
As far as the wipe, I did the full wipe prior, but wasn't aware of needing to do it after. So I need to wipe Dalvik Cache and Cache Partition again?
EDIT: And of course, I can't get into Recovery Mode either. If I try to root my phone again, it says the file all ready exists?
Yes, something didnt take.
1 Wipe data/factory reset
2 Wipe cache
3 Wipe Dalvik
4 Install ROM
5 Wipe data/factory reset
6 Wipe Cache
7 Wipe Dalvik
8 Reboot
So if you reboot holding down on the volume and go into recovery it doesnt do anything?
what recovery did you use to install Alien initially? Romracers,

All right, I appreciate it. But maybe a stupid question, but since I can't get into recovery mode how do I go about doing this?
EDIT: Sorry, you got me on the edit. I wasn't thinking to go through recovery via the volume key. I was trying to go through the system recovery app. As far as which recovery I used Tenfar's Bootstrap, which reading looks like I probably shouldn't have. Thanks for your help, hopefully this will cure everything.
You are going to have to use fastboot and flash the recovery image again.
Go here--->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204500
Ya once we got our bootloaders unlocked Tenfars CWM became obsolete. Just pick your favorite color from the link i posted and flash with fastboot.
Thats why you got an error, tenfars wont properly flash a rom.
Just follow that wipe routine after every rom you flash. Before and after flash
Im currently using ver1.0 Pro but cannot seem to download any other versions after that.
I tried even Infinitum Project, i cant seem to get it pass the start screen.(meaning before the boot animation). Similar when flashing RR ver1.1 onwards
I think i cannot go anywhere after android 4.0.4. I am only able to flash back to v1.0 (Android 4.0.3).
what could be the problem? help?
can u explain the process you followed for the installation of the other roms after 1.0?
oh sorry.
For the RR Pro 1.3
full wipe
installed rom
reboot.
Infinatium project,
Full wipe
installed rom
installed gapps
installed themed gapps
reboot.
I would usually just follow the instructions that are given.
sorry too I were configuring my cellphone, just flashed to the 1.3 and works fine...
sometimes my sd card give me problems and I remove from the device, maybe it's not your case...
and additional to the wipe, I wipe the dalvik cache, and then install the rom.
In the roms in wich I got troubles with the start screen or rebooting its because the baseband (LPQ in my case) and I'm serching foward about these thing...
sorry about my english, but its not my native languaje

Apart from asking the dev i suggest a full wipe and clean flash may cure the usual Kernel Panic .

If you just relax for a minute , take a deep breath and start from the beginning. Listen to what people are telling you. Follow step by step from the beginning. Read what the developer says on flashing the rom and then it will work. Almost impossible not to get the rom working after that. It will all come together mate. Read a lot of posts. Good luck.

Hi,
I was using stock firmware up until yesterday I flashed to v5.2 successfully. Everything is working fine. But I just have a question, I remember that after the flash, and the phone rebooted and I connected to my wifi...the phone automatically started to download and install all the 4 apps that i had personnally installed on the stock firmware all by itself ..
I'm asking because I see that there a v6.0 available and would like to flash that. But before I flash, do I need to do the following wipes?
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
If so, do I need to do this for between EVERY Omega flashes to ensure it goes smoothly? Thanks

You should only have to wipe cache and dalvik then flash the ROM. You'll be fine, I also always format cache and system in the mount and storage part of Cwm recovery BEFORE flashing the ROM, never had an issue.

Ok I found the definitions of what a full wipe and no wipe is:
Full Wipe Install means:
- Wipe Data / Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
- Format System partition
- Install
No Wipe Install means:
- Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
- Install
Just a question, in the FULL WIPE listed above, where would I find "Format System Partition?" I don't recall seeing that..which category do I enter to do it?
CWM recovery mounts and storage format system .

Thanks, is there any harm if I do a full wipe EverytimeI upgrade an Omega ROM? I just want to stick to one way of things to minimize any issues.
I have been trying to use some roms but every rom I install I dont get the notification bar. is there something i am missing as all I do is put the rom on SD card boot into clockwork mod and install using zip on SD and the if mod asks for a data wipe then i do it but if I do that the build never loads I left longhorn 2.9.3 for about 3hrs and never worked.then if I dont wipe then It loads into the rom with problems.
