Hello i'm am a huge nexus fan but the nexus 9 really let me down.
The screen has light bleeding and it flickers when the brightness is turned down.
The back gets really hot when under heavy load, Its so bad that its almost to hot to hold.
The tablet is really slow, It takes almost 5 minutes for it to start up.
The tablet cant multitask, When switching between apps it constantly needs to reload every app.
The home screen redraws when pressing the home button.
It crashes alot.
It dous not have all the features it could have had if Nvidea and google supported the K1 chip better.
I hoped that google would fix some of these iseus with the new android update.
But there was little improvemend.
I now have problems with connecting to my chrome cast.
And it crashes so often that its impossible to work with.
I bought it back in november and hoped for an update that would solve some of the issues but 5.1.1 has not really improved much..
Now i know its a long shot but i would like to get my investment back so i can get a tablet that dous work like its supposed to.
Dous anyone have any advice for me?

- The Tegra line does this thing where it automatically adjusts the screen, but it's noticeable at low levels. The Nexus 7 is also susceptible to this, likely code from the PRISM tech.
The back gets really hot when under heavy load, Its so bad that its almost to hot to hold.
- This should be obvious. The device has aggressive core freq scaling by default, but this can be easily fixed with root and USB's kernel.
The tablet is really slow, It takes almost 5 minutes for it to start up.
- Could be encryption
The tablet cant multitask, When switching between apps it constantly needs to reload every app.
- The amount of RAM is insufficient for the high DPI + 64-bit + the DCO requires 1/6th or 128MB for itself. Google is at fault, though I noticed they use Z-RAM to sort of help, Android M might help slightly.
The home screen redraws when pressing the home button.
- Because Android's task killer is killing it, resources are tight on the N9.
It crashes alot.
- Could be anything, hard to diagnose.
It dous not have all the features it could have had if Nvidea and google supported the K1 chip better.
- What, Open GL 4.5?
I hoped that google would fix some of these iseus with the new android update.
But there was little improvemend.
- The N9 will be the flagship tablet for 2015 so they will probably improve the experience by 2016
I now have problems with connecting to my chrome cast.
And it crashes so often that its impossible to work with.
- The N9 is usually stable, all these crashes are caused by your setup.
I bought it back in november and hoped for an update that would solve some of the issues but 5.1.1 has not really improved much..
- You certainly have patience.

Commented in bold.
Sounds like you got a lemon. I'm on my second Nexus 9 and both perform(ed) great with the exception of my first one deciding that it would not boot past the spinning dots on start up anymore without freezing and the screen going scrambled.
Anyways, I had such a hard time with HTC's warranty service that I went into the local best buy where I purchased it 4 months ago and told them what was going on. The service manager offered to exchange it for a new one on the spot if I agreed to purchase their complete protection plan. So I did. Now I can throw this thing across the room and they will replace it no questions asked. At first I got the regular speel about it being past the exchange policy and I should have purchased the protection plan, but I think it may have helped having my 6 month pregnant crying fiance with me! lol The best you can do is go in where you purchased it and beg. If that doesn't work, maybe borrow a pregnant wife and try again! Good luck!
yes i know im really late with this.
Maybe a second nexus 9 will preform better. Its still under warranty.
I will cal google tomorrow and explain the situation.
My device never slowed down but had far many GPU issues. Took me a month's time to get a DOA certificate from HTC since they were unable to fix my issues(actually meant lack of spares). But amazon was kind enough to process my refund request within a couple of hours after i filed a claim. Got money back within a day.
I saw that the M4 had lots of over heating issues with that new snapdragon processor.
I also saw that sony released a patch to solve that problem.
I was just wondering if it worked or if it is still too hot?
^Thats the main Question
I am interested in this phone becasue it is supposed to have great battery life but I assume if it generating so much heat the battery life isnt that great. Opinions?
I would not recommend the device, at least not the 8GB version. The tiny storage space i crippling at best... I can't even update apps because it thinks app data on the SD card is on the internal memory! As soon as the new nexus comes out I'm switching and throwing sony in the trash.

I thought Sony would have released only a fix for the Z4 (Z3+ in EU) considering the S810 heat "problem" (disaster).
Actually, even the S615 becomes really warm too, but I do not believe that they will update even the medium range.......
I can't find anything on Sony's website about a patch. Do you have a link please?
I personally do not find overheating to be a problem. Yes the device gets relatively warm under heavy usage. Some may say that it is even hot but i don't find it too hot maybe because i come from another hot device - xperia s. I want to clarify that this happens only under very heavy usage like synthetic 3d benchmarks, heavy games or heavy navigation programs. For multimedia there is absolutely no problem.

I was planning to buy the 16GB version so I assume that would be recommended? I was planning to dump a random SD card in there as well for pictures etc.

It was the carrier store sales person who said a patch was being released but didnt know its effectiveness. I also cant find any reference to it online upon looking so maybe he was crazy.
They only sell the 16gb version but the people at the store were also saying that they have had lots of returns for overheating issues. Talking to you guys there seems to be no overheating. :S
He was recommending a different phone at the same price so it wasnt for upsale
I bought the 16gb E2306 version about 1 week ago and till now i did not have any issue with the heat
aamm just when i use the camera for long time or chrome about 30-45 minutes
but with normal use or when i play games like real racing 3 or modern combat 5 doesn't heat up a lot just the normal
My m4 dual over heats and drains the battery very fast. Using just chrome and whatsapp over wifi, battery lasts only maybe 5 hours. With brightness on lowest. And the top back of the phone gets hot.
Also GPS is always on. I have to disable it to stop it. And the screen brightness adaption doesn't work properly. Seems to want to be always bright.
It seems processor is just doing stuff for no reason making heat and draining battery.
I've used z3c and z3c tablet. Both these last 2 days with similar moderate usage.
I got model E2312 firmware 26.1.B.1..85 bought in Malaysia.

But besides the low memory on the 8gb version, you don't have any overheating issues?
Hope it will help you.

My Xperia M4 overheats within 30 seconds of me turning the Bluetooth on. When I say overheats I mean the front and back become too hot to touch and it takes a long time to cool back down. I've had the phone for around 6 months and the problem only recently occurred is there anything I can do?
Get the Opera browser and set the image quality to low. You will note a serious drop in temperatures. Ditch the Chrome browser.
Fixing Heating issues tips
Following may help you to reduce heat level of your m4 aqua:
Disable unwanted Functions/features like Bluetooth & Location Settings.
Use of 4G and 3G Data for long time.
Many running apps simultaneously.
Non-genuine battery.

I have a knock-off Android phone. It's a CoolPad y60 running Android 4.4.4
In a previous thread I asked about a stock firmware that doesn't have a lot of the "frills" that slow the phone down.. I have since discovered a way to shut down the extra crap and the phone is usable now..
But recently I have noticed that I get pop-up ads that appear out of nowhere.. Not enough to make me throw the phone against a wall, but enough to be kinda annoying..
I realize it's probably something running in the background.. I was just wondering if there are known pop-up programs that run on Android that I can look for and shut down/disable..
I am also curious as to whether or not this is a function of this cheep knockoff or if it's a wider problem with a wide range of Android devices...
Hello Everyone,
I have downloaded and installed "Andriod 10" Aka "Realme UI" (ColorOS v7)
I downloaded the update file from "Realme India" and not "Realme Pakistan" because "Realme Pakistan" does not have the latest Andriod 10 update. My phone is EX version and not EXEU version and the download is also EX version so i decided to risk a try and it flashed successfully via "File Manager". After update all of my data and settings are same as before. Of course the ui is different. So its definitely upgraded. Now the question is it upgraded properly or not. Well i wonder that because the ui is pretty "Laggy & Slow" and in pubg i noticed alot of micro stutters and random frame skipping of some sort...well the cell phone was pretty stable and smooth in andriod 9...
It took like 3-5 min to update and 3-5min to boot. So some stuffs probably happened in background (meaning the update was proper i think).
Well i have not checked a lot of stuff but since i am a music lover, i tested "Headphone Jack" Quality using wired "Sony MDR1A" which is just 24 ohm impedance (meaning easiest to drive) but same as before volume is superrrrrrrr low and Bass is non-existent.
Honestly i am thinking about selling this phone and buying something else even tho i bought it 1.5 month ago and it will sell for atleast 150$ less...
