Future phone - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

So last week I was planning on buying an ipod touch 4g or a dell streak 7
But then I tought my mini pro was going to last for maybe another year
So I started to look for android phones with hardware keyboard when the htc desire z cought my eye
I started searching for prices and I found a deal at amazon that comes with a 16 gb sd card
All together for 390 dollars
So I might be ordering it when summer ends
Now you guys share your toughts of your future phone or just make an opinion about my post ;-)
Sent from my mini pro running CyaNoComb by d4

i'll go for xperia mini pro or qwert variant of galaxy sII hope they'll launch!

my next phone will not be SE anymore

I just take a Galaxy Tab and bye bye X10 mini pro...
Good phone, but form factor problems (little little screen) and no support from SE (no froyo )
That's a shame

DON'T BUY I****! no iphone, no itab, nothing that start with I, they SUX, personal experience.
You can buy sgsII or optimus2x(it's cheaper )
Keyboards vs Dualcore i would choose dualcore

Well, I would simply wait for the Nexus 3. But if you like the x10 mini pro's form factor and can bear with a single core, get the xperia mini pro.

English:
I'd wait for Xperia Pro, Desire sounds good, check if there are good ROMs around.

Nothing from SE most likely. If I get enough cash, an iPhone is most likely. My iPad is absolutely amazing. If not, Android by HTC.

HTC Desire!

I had a iphone 3gs but hated it. For me its gonna be the one in my sig unless summat better comes out before it.

Evo 3d or optiomus 3d got both ,,,,,oooooothere so cool but my scrached mini is still the one ,,even with the huge scrach on the screen peace
Ps dont get a I phone ,,,, but my brother mods them so check his page out http:/jailbrak.net

The king is Samsung Galaxy S II
se will get **** from me from now on as a sign of gratitude for the ongoing support of x10 mini. **** u se may you be bought from microsoft and your head offices burn to a crisp

The HTC Desire Z just got a confirmed future oficial release for android 2.3. So I guess it's even more of a great option to consider it.

I replaced my X10 Mini already in April with a HTC Desire HD. Keeping the X10 Mini as secondary phone until the beginning of June. When I put the little wonder back in it's box.
Going from the 2.55" screen X10 Mini to the 4.3" screen of the DHD was quite a something.
Got a little sentimental for few days ago and restarted the X10 Mini which hadn't been recharged since putted back in the box.
Got surprised how slow the phone was thought I ran it without a SIM-card and had installed alot of useless freeware apps from the market, the last week I used the phone
BTW found some snowy photos on it's memory card from last winter

Htc desire s... Allready on my pocket

buy any phone or what you want.but not SE

was a toss-up between desire z and xperia arc, but will prob get the new mini pro next month. a single core is fast enough for me (dont play high-end games, just want a smooth UI)
i like having a smaller phone (have x10 mini atm) but would like a physical keyboard to make using emulators a bit easier
i know there's a chance se will stop supporting it, but it will start off with 2.3 which means i can use flash, and it has a hvga screen so a lot more apps will be available than with the qvga x10 mini, which is good enough for me sinc i've got x10 mini working just how i want it (so hopefully wont be long before new mini pro is rooted!)

I definitely won't be using SE again...how the mighty have fallen.
I am appalled at how they have just simply forgotten and dropped the X10 lineup - particularly the mini.
Installing apps 2 SD is HIGHLY needed, especially with the X10 mini/pro's low phone memory, yet SE refuse to support and upgrade it...not even to 2.2!
It's disgusting to loyal customers (I have owned sony ericsson phones happily for the past 6 years, but my X10 mini pro has left me appalled).
I have even looked into getting a new phone even though I only got my X10 mini pro in January....
I also looked into the HTC Desire Z, but it is very heavy and slightly too large, especially from moving from the Mini.
However there seem to be bigger problems, such as them frequently dieing after 2 weeks (for no reason), over-heating and re-booting issues (even whilst stock), and having a weak hinge.
I'm looking to install Apps2SD on my rooted Mini...if that fails I may look into other phones, however I'm nt sure about Desire Z - all I'm saying is do your research before taking the plunge!
The upcoming Xperia Pro looks very good (better than the Desire Z with same screen size), however it's a Sony Ericsson...and I am not gonna support their products after the shameful disrespect they showed X10 customers...

The arc is a slow turtle. Get x-play if it's possible, stock battery and stock firmware gives 2 days even with moderate usage.
I'm using the galaxy ace, 800 mhz Turbo processor that can probably be overclocked in the near future to 1 ghz.. it's already running smooth now.
XDA ♥

Seems like telcel just put up the Xperia Play for free with a Mas x Menos 3 (w/o data plan) for 12 months, saw a site saying it and a facebook page offering the Play for free with a contract but didn't say any details.
If you're interested you could call or go to a CAC Telcel and ask about it.
I should stop looking into phones when I shouldn't be getting one.

[INFO] X10 mini Digitizer T1021A and other dualtouch enabled phones that use it

[Open topic discussion]
Greetings !
Hows it going everyone
well I'm new to this fantastic forum that I find extremely helpful specially with the asset of the pro Developers that the forum Managed to gather at the same place
well it happens that I was surfing around trying to find any leads to figure out if the X10 Mini digitizer T1021A is Dual-touch capable or not.
Actually I found a couple of phones that uses the same Controller "T1021A" , and the most interesting one is the Blackberry Torch 9800.
Although the phone runes a BlackBerry OS6 " not an Android" but its fully Dualtouch enabled .
here are some info about the cell
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/blackberry-torch-9800-everything-you-need-to-know/
here you can check out a video review of the phone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHnW7Dt1bcIand
and here you can take a look at the Blackberry Torch 9800 teardown
http://www.ubmtechinsights.com/repo...tive-analysis/blackberry-torch-9800/teardown/
they stated at the bottom of the page that the phone has a Clearpad T1021A controller which raises some hopes again that the X10 Mini might be able to have Dualtouch functionality up if we could manage to alter the digitizer driver , I dont claim that I possess any knowledge about firmwares and drivers development , but I believe that if its possible to extract the driver from device which I believe that its coded in C language we could be able to modify it to work for us or if we can manage to extract the driver from another device using the same chip and has Dualtouch enabled , as I've heard that Synaptics agreed to share the Synaptics RMI4 drivers with the Android SDK but I could not find any , seems like they've removed it temporary for some reasons.
I've found another phone that has the same chip T1021A , its the Nokia N8
Here you can see that the phone supports Dualtouch .... this is an Assassin's creed gameplay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aivlOZs2Ez0
here you can clearly see that the phone has a T1021A chip "Step 10 3rd picture"
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nokia-N8-Teardown/3641/2
Another phone is Nexus One " no need to represent the phone thought "
here you can see a teardown of the device seems like the one possess a similar controller T1007A
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus-One-Teardown/1654/2
here you can find a full technical article about the Nexus One it indicate that the Nexus one has the same Digitizer as the X10 mini Clearpad2000 , sounds like the T1021A is just a microcontroller that controls the way the digitizer behaves and the T1021A thingy does not mean a ClearPad 1021 as some presumed
http://www.edn.com/file/25845-The_Nexus_One_Google_hits_a_smartphone_home_run_PDF.pdf?force=true
looking forward to read your replies and suggestion about the matter so maybe we could come up with something.
Are you completely sure that the Torch is able to recognize 2 touch points independently and somewhat accurately instead of just supporting dual-touch gestures like pinch-in/out and rotate?

well , I don't own the phone to confirm it , but after what I saw in reviews about the cell , it seems that its the first Multitouch not only dualtouch BlackBerry that uses the BlackBerry OS 6.
it would be nice if we only could manage to find someone who could confirm it
a datasheet woud be nescesary. mabye you could mail synaptics for more info but don't think they give much away, this things are normally not open source. it would be tons of work and mabye noth wort it.

I believe the Kin Two only supports dual touch gestures, like pinch, rotate and so on.
cant we just take the legend driver from the legend kernels and just snap it into our new custom kernels without any modifications ?! same screen res and same digitizer so i guess it wouldn't require lots of work ! thanks

nokia n8 doesn't support real dualtouch!! only gestures and pinch to zoom
It's easy to assume that the Nokia N8 has got dualtouch, but in fact it's got what some would call "software emulated dualtouch" which means dualtouch behavior on a singletouch only digitizer.

[ICS] Some news from Sony France

Some news of ICS release live from Sony France here :
http://www.sony.fr/discussions/message/766480#766480
Well, it's in french
France and Belgium will have to wait 4 more weeks for ICS. The post doesn't speak of other european countries but I guess they won't be better served...
,
Italian sony told that soon we will have infos... very very soon... we can only wait... and hope...
New post from Sony today on sony.fr :
No ICS in Europe before the last days of May. That confirms what has been written before on the same blog.
Sony.fr is proud to inform that the update will concern all tablets : P, S, WiFi & 3G.
Woaw...
mouarf ...
Correct translation
The Sony France guy did not write what the OP reported in English. Essentially, there was no such arrogance in the original message, which reads:
As was communicated on April 27th, there was an expectation of a 4 weeks delay for the deployment in Europe and as always, we will keep you informed as soon as we will have information on this matter. However for now, we are still on an end-of-May schedule.
I shall stress that all tablets will be targeted(S, P, WiFi or 3G).
in French for those who want to cross-check my translation:
Comme communiqué le 27 Avril, il fallait compter 4 semaines pour la déploiement en Europe et comme toujours, nous vous tiendrons informés dès que nous aurons des infos à ce sujet, mais pour l'instant, nous sommes toujours sur un timing fin Mai. Je précise que toutes les tablettes seront concernées (S, P, WiFi ou 3G).
Personal thought : 27th April plus 4 weeks do indeed run towards end of May, especially given how France stops working on so many non-working days this month. And yes, I'm as impatient as anyone to get that update!
Right...
OK, I must admit that the arrogance wasn't so obvious in the original post from Sony. I must have been under influence of other writings here in XDA which made me think that Sony could be arrogant with their customers.
Sorry if I'm wrong
what a crap. I had news that we would have an update to ICS in April.
WTF Sony come on!!!!!! Otherwise update straight away to Android 7.5
People complain of delays but they should be glad that sony is responsible enough for not releasing buggy software!
Its a 3g problem! That's the reason why its delayed in some countries. And sony cant release an over the air update for wifi tablets only, they can only release by nation..
I am glad sony is responsible!!

such company should not have such problems, what does it mean "3g problems" anyway? which problems could they have? come on...

Hope but mistake
May 24th said by a Sony France forum user (not a Sony guy) to be THE date... By obvious mistake when looking at the source URL, wich talk about tablet P :
http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/5/18/3028181/sony-tablet-p-android-ics-update-may-24
Still a good new for Sony tablet P users.

Sony Xperia XA Ultra. My first impressions.

So i had some hands on time with the Sony Xperia XA Ultra. I was really impressed with the screen and bezzels. The cameras work well. A strong selfie flash and to my impression, a very good battery for such little 2700mah.

Hands On Sony Xperia XA Ultra! Pa' Lo Selfie!
Si le quieres regalar a alguien un celular y solo le importa pantallota y selgies, no busques mas. El Mamut Xperia XA Ultra te resuelve.

Top notch device. I use my Xa Ultra rather than my Z5 premium just because it feels like it has better build quality. The Z5P has a bigger battery but the XAU still beats it. Just wish the rooting process was easier + more development.
Hello everyone.
Reviews here are good about for this device but I am not happy with Sony mobile approach here. With such massive cameras only 16GB of storage and of which about 9GB is pre occupied by ayatem + apps. On top off that there is no option to use sd card as adoptable storage (Sony with some other developers have removed this android 6 feature).
Final words. Top notch device with solid build but poor storage options.
Thats my first impression.
Thanks
I have had Android Pay problems as well as Bluetooth disconnect constantly since day one. I have had to delete apps because lack of storage. Apps refused to update unless I cleared the cache, which I use APP 2 SD app for that.
Mine has been extremely problematic. I like my Z Ultra better, never had as many user problems as I am with the XAU.

If the 128 really exists, you only get the small one right at the moment.
Item shoud arrive within the next 5 Days, if somebodz has a question feel free to fire at will ;D
I bought this one because my Mot Z has to be send in for a battery replacement. so know i have a backup phone which looks promising.

Chose between G8 Power or Fusion

Hi everyone. I'm gonna buy one of those phones. Are their's BL unlockeable? Rooteable? I like 128GB fusion's storage, but my doubt is about the screen resolution. Is that good enough for reading books or pdf? I'm not a gamer. I want a fast and a long battery phone.
Thanks!

I can't comment on the fusion but the G/8 Power has insanely good battery life. Phone is also running buttery smooth even being underclocked and running on only 4 cores. I work in a call center and pretty much have my screen on alllll day at work while I mess with it. Might drop 25-30% over 7 hours. I just got it last week and I am more than happy with my purchase.
Bootloader is unlockable and achieving root is quick and simple. Currently running HavocOS and absolutely loving this thing.

Yes, I like the idea of underclock for extreme saving battery. Is it possible to downgrade from 1080 to 720 for extra saving? I mean, in case of urgency. I'm really being convinced by the Full HD G8 power against the fusion. Cheers.

You can use shell commands to change the resolution or an app like DPI Changer from the Play Store, although I'm sure both methods require root. DPI Changer does, at least.
I'd definitely go with the HD screen. I was stuck between getting the G7 Power and the G/8 Power for the price difference and screen quality but am more than satisfied with my purchase.

Ok, but in my case, the fusion (HD) and the G8 power (Full HD) are at the same price. Any last advice? Are you happy with 720 screen? Edit. I'm confused... you purchased G8 power so you own a Full HD.

I've purchased the G8 power because of the screen.

I'm gonna answer just in English.
Thanks for the answer. It was a hard decition, but I gave a lot of importance to the fear of regret of buying an HD+ display device. I don't play games, and I only use the camera occasionally, so those items doen't matter to me. Maybe the G8 power will feel slower than Fusion for daily use. I hope not. For the budget, those were my options and the Full HD display was a must have option. Take care. Cheers.
EDIT: I have 24 hs with the phone, and as you own the same would you give me tips for it? Did you installed GCam?
The first thing I did was enter developer mode and disabled all the animations and disabled the vibration response of keyborad. Now it feels faster. And of course, changed the wallpaper to just black .

Would you provide me unlock and root guide? It's quite confusing. I don't find G8 Power branch forum.
And what app do you use for cpu speed control?
Thanks!
