On my old n97 even if the phone gone of through the night in case of low battery, it goes on in the morning and wake me up.

From what I know, Android phone don't support this feature.
It's not a bug, it's not a hardware issue - it's just how it is designed.
Yep, I loved this feature in Nokias, even on Samsung Wave, but to be honest it's not a problem. Just turn your phone into flight mode, and it will basically consume very little power in standby.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Is there anyway to disable the notification when charging is complete? Like to charge phone over night but it's annoying when get woke back up a few hours later!!!
I have exact same problem. Can anyone answer this? Since I bought Samsung Galaxy S II I have been waking up in the middle of night to see what happened? I can't turn off the phone sound as I sometimes expect emergency phone calls. Thanks.
If you've rooted your phone you can just rename the relevant sound files in /system/media/sound/ui/

Still no solution?

There's a discussion of this issue over on the dev forum, with at least one solution given.
I'm using Tasker with given solutions somewhere here. This is the only solution available if the phone is not rooted. For rooted sgs II someone has mentioned some sound file name to delete

Recently I've been unable to turn off the wifi on the phone. Everytime I turn it off, it stays off for fraction of a second and then turns back on.
I think this started to happen when I changed my a sim card
Even flight mode behaves the same way.
Any help would be appreciated.

Factory reset may fix this. A full flash should most definitely fix this unless you have a hardware problem, which I doubt.
Btw, heard many complaints about wifi not working, but this is the first I've heard about it not turning off .

I can turn it off now. It suddenly started working. Weird...
I even rebooted my phone earlier and even took out the battery but nothing fixed the problem.

Hi all,
I've searched for an answer and couldn't find one.
My Galaxy turns itself off while charging and most of the time, I have to take the battery out to turn it on again.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks

First, caused by AC charger or USB PC or both ?
Your firmware version and rooted, mods etc ?
Have you tried a factory reset ?
Different chargers and cables etc ?
Sent from my GT-I9300T using xda premium
Only by AC charger I think. I've only got the one which came in the box.
It's a standard phone, not rooted or anything.
I haven't tried a factory reset, will try that tomorrow if it does it again tonight

op says his turns off WHILE charging, so yours and his isn't doing the same thing.
Actually, mine is doing that too!
This morning, it turned itself off while charging, then when I turned it back on it froze, and then when I rebooted, it turned off again with the blue light flashing.
I'm also finding that the screen when waking up is very temperamental to unlock.
I'm getting fed up now!

Hardware failure maybe? (I think the main reason is the AC adaptor was broken or something).
Have you try with another USB AC adapter?

I think it might be something to do with wireless being on. Sounds stupid, but when I have wireless on, I get the screen freeze and the turn off while charging.
Going to try the rest of the evening with no wireless and see what happens
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
Well, I tried the wireless off and charged and it was fine. No screen freeze or turn off during charging.
As soon as I turned it on this morning, screen froze when it went into sleep.
Luckily I I have unlimited data!

Have you bothered to Factory Reset ?
Sounds like WiFi drivers though.
Flash another kernel would must likely fix it.

Did anyone get to the bottom of this? I just received my replacement phone and sure enough, phone switches itself off when wifi enabled.
Then I saw the *#0011# trick to turn off wifi power save mode.
Hi,
No, I haven't got this sorted yet. Still does it with me and now my wifi and data keeps dropping out!
Going to send it back to 3 and let them fix it. My friend as one and his is fine

The thing i mentioned above your post works but not sure if that's the answer.
Hi again,
Well I rooting and putting a new ROM on and, though it didn't switch off while charging, it does still freeze when coming out of sleep.
So I'm getting there!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Try to check the temp when charging, I read somewhere that if the phone overheats it will shutdown automatically. About the freezing issue, try to do a factory reset first, maybe some apps that you installed are causing that.
If still the same, maybe its a hardware issue.
Hi again,
Sorry to keep going on about this, but the problem has been solved!
Basically, the new firmware update has sorted the problem. No turning off while charging, no freezing when coming out of sleep - its perfect!

My phone doesn't go into deep sleep very well and it gives me bad baterry performance.
I checked the partial wakelocks and I found a suspicious one " audio_1" that I believe its to blame.
How can I find out what app/process/app remains it belongs to?
Thanks in advance
Cosmin.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Audio_1 tends to appear if you're listening to music, or it can also pop up on some roms if you have touch sounds/lock sounds on. If you're not listening to music, you have touch/lock sounds on & this wakelock is causing drain you're not happy with, I'd turn those sounds off. I'm running CM9 & this is what I do.
I see. I will dissable all sound feedback from the phone and see if that changes anything.
Thanks.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Yep turn off touch/lock sounds for a day & then have a look at BBS stats again for that period & see if that eliminates the issue. If not, post your BBS stats at that stage & we can have another look.
No probs ;-) Hope that sorts the issue for you.

After stopping all sound feedback from the phone the battery drain whent back to normal. Over the night it dropped about 2%. I'm happy with that
I will try to activate some sounds back to see if the wakelock problem was generated by a particular sound.

Cool. Yep good logic. Activate them one by one (and test each one that you activate on it's own for a day or so) & see if you can isolate exactly which one is causing the problem.
Let us know how you get on/if you can narrow it down to a particular setting, info will be useful for other people.

Hi jonezy8873!
Your battery does not have anything to do with power saver modes or bottom lights to light up (i think).. it's all on your settings will you please go to settings > about and tell us your phone's details? Perhaps you are on custom ROM & kernel?
Hope to hear your feedback! Cheers

Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Hi, thanks for reply im on stock ics 4.0.4
From uk not rooted or anything,
With the lights i mean that when the battery goes to 10% or less it automaticly turns down the screen brightness and turns off the bottom lights if i go settings-power saver i can change it from standard to custom so i can have the brightness back up but button brightness is greyed out and cant press anything.
Just seen that after leaving my phone alone it has gone up from 78% to 81% do you think it doing it its self? This is the first day from fully charge.
I got it yesterday made sure it was toataly flat by running a film on repeat then once i died i charged it over night and now using it.
Thanks.

The battery does not need to be calibrated. The s2 does it by itself. Give it 3-4 charge cycles and it will be what you should expect
