Where to start - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright,I know this may get my head chewed off,but all the dev stuff here is scrambeled all over the place. It's easier for the ones that has been here since the beginning, coming in new to the atrix, its a little more complicated. Everywhere I read I see everyone saying diferent versions of the atrix shouldn't flash such and such.
Do I unlock bootloader first? Then root, then flash recovery, then install the Rom or kernal I want through cwm?
Sorry if I seem like a noob, but like I said, everything is scrambeled lol. I read the stickies, but the more reading I do,the more confused I come. I'm no noob,I know my way around all this,if i could get a simple yes or no,you won't see anymore noob questions like this from me,ever again.

I am not sure if there are other simpler ways to do this but this way worked for me so here goes: I have an AT&T atrix.
1) - Use RSD Lite to flash the 1.8.3 SBF. Guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991072 I Used the full SBF not service just for a cleaner install. I rooted using GingerBreak: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Link to all SBFs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125944 get the AT&T 1.8.3 FULL
2) - Unlock your bootloader. Guide here: http://briefmobile.com/how-to-unlock-the-atrix-4g-bootloader
3) - Install CWM recovery using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138541
4) - Use this flashable zip of 2.3.4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1141013
5) - OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED Install Navalynt's MOD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142674 Download the v1.9 one without webtop fix.
Again I apologize if there is an easier/simpler way to do this but this worked for me and everything is great right now If you need any further assistance just ask.

Atrix guides are pretty much all over the place. When I modded/themed my friends Xperia X10 it was very easy. All the guides were stickied from the intro all the way to the other bits n pieces of info. I pretty much stayed on that page. I didn't even had to use the search function...lol

It is really a good instruction and link for the beginner. But you don't have to install all mod stuff. It depends on what you need. So far, I don't unlock bootloader and flash to new ROM. I did root, webtop mod and enabled sideload. It is good enough for me.

Wow,thanks bro. I didn't expect to be greeted with such welcome. I know how annoying a new comer can be. I started at the very beginning with the intercept, and I remember it was hard for the new comers to understand what was going on because everything had just started. Again, thanks bro. I don't have my atrix yet,but will soon. Ill hit the thanks button once I'm on my pc

[Q] Re-root droid x2 after 2.3.4 OTA Update

To make a long story short... I let someone use my phone, they updated it to 2.3.4 . How do I obtain root privileges again? I don't need a step by step explanation. The quick version should get me on my way.
From what it seems I need to flash one of the Leaked SBF's? I just looked on the side of the box and I have S/W version 1.2.148.MB870. Do I need the SBF pertaining that that model?
Not to fear! You can root your OTA update and enjoy the benefits of 2.3.4! Google "Pete's one click root" and follow the instructions. It's VERY easy to do. Good luck.
Also, there are resources in the dev section.

As stated. Petes oneclick root method works fine.
But if u were EVER going to flash an sbf just make sure it is one you get from the X2 development forum ONLY.
If u try to flash an sbf for any other phone model u will be in for some trouble.
Thank you

It was more of a cautionary statement to be careful if doing a search and you end up in the x forum by mistake seeing as they also have a gb sbf it can be dangerous when people just quick glance the forum they are in
I know I've almost made that mistake. Started to download the sbf and was like why doesn't this look right? Lol

Rooting the DX2 without SBF

Is it possible? I've heard of one click root process, but I can't find that thread with the directions. If there is one, can someone link it for me? Thanks.

Search. It's a button, and I can confirm... it works.
Check the stickies in the dev section, everything is laid out right there for u, and one click works flawlessly ; )

There is also a sticky right here in general forum made by moonshadow.
Easy as pie.
And we don't have a sbf that gives us root anyway. If u sbf at all u r going to need to use the rooting methods again to regain root

Let's be clear. It's called Pete's Motorola Root Tools. ...and hyperlinks are your friend.
And just to clear some things up, SBFing has nothing to do with rooting. You don't SBF to root or root to SBF. One does not require the other.
SBFing means putting your phone back to a particular stock install which makes it no longer rooted. Hence, if you SBF to a stock image (2.2.2, 2.3.3, 2.3.4), you'll lose any root privileges you had and you'll have to re-root your phone.
SBFing requires having an application called RSDLite as well as a particular SBF image (Froyo - 2.2.2, Gingerbread - 2.3.3 or 2.3.4).
Rooting requires running an application such as Pete's Motorola Tools that allows you to have root access to your phone. This means you are unlocking the phone so you can perform various other functions, such as running Titanium Backup so you can backup not only applications, but the data associated with said applications. It also allows you to make other tweaks under the hood to help make your phone run better, such as running Zepplinrox's turbo charger scripts, adding the init.d hack to allow you to run various startup scripts when you reboot and last, but not least, it also allows you to flash ROMs on the phone.
Hopefully that clears some things up for you.

[Q] Help me get from Gingerblur 4.5 to CM7 please!

I rooted my phone and put GingerBlur 4.5 (on 1.8.3?) on it a long time ago. I'd like to update to the latest from Motorola firmware with the unlocked boot loader and flash CM7.
I'm not sure how to do that though and I'm a little nervous to flash the firmware too because of all the bricked phones.
Can someone point me to the appropriate threads to read to get where I want to be?
Thanks,
Z
search for swift's noob guide in General section.
Yep... cm7 part in my guide has a link to my install instructions for CM7

[Q] Tutorial

I finally got my lapdock! (yay) but please don't get mad when I ask this.
If anyone would please link me to a tutorial on how to install my rom if it is still in winrar. I need a tutorial on where to put it in my sd card, and the steps to install my rom.
I tried searching but a bunch of tutorials came up, not the ones I needed.
Thanks.
Dude you need to read at least a little...
Assuming you are already rooted and all:
Just get a Webtop from the Fruit Cakes and flash it through RomRacer's Recovery.
It's a lengthy flash so go grab some munchies
