Where do I go from here?????
I am a newbie and so far have been lucky enough to not brick my phone, but I feel I'm getting in over my head now.
I have read & eaten about as much Gingerbread, froyo, & pudding that I can handle. Here is what I have and what I want to have.
HAVE: Att MB 860 Atrix , rooted, unlocked, 2.2.2, 4.1.83, gingerblur 4.5.
WANT : Stock Gingerbread or if not possible then any good proven mod.
Have NOT installed pudding....at least I don't think I have.
Have installed Tenfar's Recovery, but not sure if it is up to date.
Need step by step instructions to install Gingergread...
Any help will be appreciated!!!
Thanks & sorry If I've left out any needed info.

I just got an Atrix!!! and might I say that it is impressive especially coming from an iPhone 3gs. Anyways, I'm thinking about installing Gingerblur, but I have a few questions at hand. Is a root required to install Gingerblur? My guess is that it is, but I just want to make sure. Also, if I root 1.83 with gingerbreak will it immediately be compatible with Gingerblur? In other words, is Gingerblur compatible with 1.83, or do I need to flash to earlier 1.57 or earlier? Sorry for all these questions. Coming from iOS, I am a complete newbie at android, but I seem to like it so far

Yea, he kind of already answers all of your questions...
To actually answer your questions:
1. You must be rooted to install these "ROMs" like Gingerblur and such.
2. GingerBlur IS currently compatible with 1.8.3, which can be rooted with Gingerbreak.
3. After rooting, enable sideloading (I used GladEnable) and then install Tenfar's Recovery. (All these things can be found if you browse the dev forum)
4. Maybe make a backup of your phone as is while in Tenfar's. Then you use that to flash the Gingerblur ROM.
This is just a basic outline of what you do...make SURE you read directions for ALLLLLLL of these things thoroughly before you do anything.

I have a question....

There is a Big warning in the Gingerblur Thread warning Bell Atrix Owners not to download but i don't see anything about Orange UK Owners?
I have tried to search but can't find anything specific.
Thanks

Hi guys,
I have a motorola Atrix AT & T version 1.83, I would like to upgrade to 2.3.4 gingerbread, what should I do?
someone can explain well all the steps I need to do.
I've already unlocked bootloader
If you are smart enough to unlock the bootloader, I am assuming you would be smart enough to know where to post your question?
There is already step by step instructions in here on how to install CWM and then 2.3.4.

The previous posts are right, you should probably get in the habit of searching around a bit before posting questions.
Either way, here's a link to the instructions on how to flash the 2.3.4 HKTW build to an unlocked Atrix. If you are AT ALL uncomfortable with the instructions, worried about voiding your warranty or this is your first time then you should probably wait for an official ROM to be released. Be forewarned, there are still a bunch of bugs still to be worked out.

One thing to note. With a bit of tweaking, specifically modifying of /system/build.prop, this build is fully functional as far as i can tell, minus the front facing camera and fingerprint scanner being broken, so depending on your needs, it CAN be ready for daily use. The CWM flashable version of 2.3.4 seems to be much more broken than independently flashing /system and /boot.
New to android and the forms and looking into some info on seven guide. I would post on that page but since im new I can't so I thought I would start here. It shows that Canadian Atrix (OLYLA 0.37.4)is supported, now I have 2.2.2 OLYLA 0.37.23 as a build number. Since my build number is newer can I not use any of the methods posted on his guide. I alreadyhave it rooted with gingerbreak but I was looking to deodex the systm and run grey blur on the phone.
Thanks
Some roms are for the att version only I would go post on one of the roms you want and ask. The developer should be able to point you in the right way.

Bell firmwares are not supported. You can run greyblur on the Frech SBF (2.1.1). It's very easy to get greyblur on a Bell Atrix, unfortunately it means flashing another SBF. It's not such a big deal anymore though because we have a method of getting back to stock Bell if need be. My advice: follow Seven's guide and flash greyblur or gingerblur on your phone. It's much smoother and I found a significant increase in battery life. If you don't like it, you can always find the guide in the general section that explains how to get back to Bell's firmware. It's all very straightforward if you follow the guides to a T. We are lucky to have such helpful members in the Atrix community!

Yes, Odin cwm4 and download superclean eh03 and flash that via cwm. Wipe data cache and davlik before flashing.
better to be safe than odining - me

give this a read... It works, just a lengthy process.

as nitsuj17 posted, flashing deodexed eh03 rom is by far the easiest method. If you got your phone on 2.3.5 this should be easy...or is verizon finally ota updating 2.3.5 to the fascinates?
It's really not that hard at all. Follow this guide. It couldn't be any more simple than this.
If you just want to be rooted and leave your phone on gingerbread, follow section 5. It's very easy. If you're looking for something else, read his description carefully at the top.
Rooting and flashing is incredibly easy on this phone. If you're coming from the OG Droid for example, you're going to be blown away at how easy it is. Anyway, good luck and don't give up. It's really not over your head!
Don't give up...
Roger,
I know it can sound daunting, but it really isn't. Everthing you need to get to rooted version of GB (SuperClean3) can be found in the first 4 posts of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350621
Follow the instructions step by step and you will be good to go. The advantages of both a rooted phone and a debloated/modded ROM are well worth the effort. I am a relative noob, and managed to get there in under 30 minutes.
Good Luck.
Dave
Droidstyle thanks this worked great.
I'm thinking on installing NottachTrix4G on my ATT Atrix. It's currently rooted, and unlocked, running 4.5.91.
I can't seem to find any reviews or recommendations for NottachTrix4G.
Can anyone comment on their experience with it, if you already have it? Also, is there an install guide somewhere?
Thanks
Welcome to the forums! Read the actual thread for Nottachtrix. The developer is very much so respected, and has a huge number of fans that use his ROM, your best bet is to just give it a shot and use it for a day or two to see if you like it. Don't forget to nandroid back up your current setup before wiping anything that way you you can very easily switch back if you are dissatisfied. All it takes is a SEARCH, figured I would be the nice one before you get flamed with a million "Use search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" replys
Info
There is some info about Nottach Trix on here:

and here:

Also if you used and liked Darkside and/or Wet Dream you are 95% likely to enjoy Nottach Trix.

I moved from Wet Dream to Nottachtrix. So far, I've found the rom to be completely solid, all features working as advertised and without glitches on my end. At whatever point he releases his compatible ICS theme, I'll be a very happy camper.
About the most painless way to get up to 4.5.141, I'd say!
Is 1.2.3 the most current Version?
And Sheepacurious, what state were you at before?
unlocked BL?
Rooted?
4.5.93?

Unlocked bootloader, rooted, the dev post says Wet Dream was 4.5.140. Had to back up apps and SMS data, obviously, but you don't have to "get your phone back to stock" in order to flash this rom -- just make a nandroid backup and give it a shot.
as an international user (UK) do I need the ramfix.zip too.
The mods havent approved my login on the site, could anyone care to attach the file?
Many thanks

I have been running this rom since yesterday the install is cool with the aroma installer the rom is relatively fast when let it settle in

Its very nice rom the wayt it comes and you can choose what you want to add or remove its really great you should try it.
You can also go in and freeze more processes as well and right now man i got about 520 mb free and scoring around 6300 on antutu.
Its not like cm7 builds but you can use webtop and an alternative if you want to stack stock mainly for me its because i use my webtop.
try it it's pretty cool
I thought wet dream was awesome, this ROM is even better. I just downloaded it today and no complaints.
+1 for you to download.

Previous State
ROOT, UL BL, 2.3.4/4.5.91, Alien ROM
I accidentally hit the update option when it popped up on the screen instead of hitting later. Then I the wifi off on my phone and that prevented the update from being downloaded. I tried to do a couple of things to prevent it from downloading
1. Freezing Upgrader 2.3.4 using TiBu - This did not work.
2. Using CWM - Cleared cache etc and this did not do the trick either.
So, I finally gave up and used UncleCemka's guide to upgrade to 4.5.141 (2.3.6) and it was successful.
So, present state
ROOT, UL BL, 2.3.6/4.5.141, Stock.
Can I flash NottachTrix4G? The thing I miss the most is the WebTop over HDMI
Thanks in advance,

Yes. It'll work fine. It doesn't mess with the webtop partition, so you'll need to re-do the HDMI exploit or flash the 2.3.6 webtop fruitcake which has that fix worked in.

Here you go. It's the Fruitcakes thread over in the dev forum.
now: you took the OTA update, which I'm pretty sure updated your webtop as well. The webtop fruitcake says 4.5.140; this may or may not be precisely the same version as your current one. With that in mind, I might try redoing the webtop-over-HDMI hack first since it's a pretty simple procedure and keeps your current version intact.
