Permission for what? Porting?

It's like you read my mind.
Edit: If he says no we can use the Sensation 4g shipping ROM.
Edit 2: But then we'd have to ask HTC for permission, and that I don't want to do...
Be easier to use that. Less resizing.

Yep, that's why I picked it as my first choice.
Edit: But we'll still have to resize the files no matter what. Maybe just start with stock?

I'm just going to deem all of this impossible. Most if not all Sense 3.0 applications are for ARMv7. Unless you can miraculously decompile and then recompile for ARMv6 and then resign it with HTC's app signature, it just wont work. We already have Sense 2.1 running on our Arias with a few 3.0ish parts. I'm afraid thats all we able to get done. Not trying to be a negative Nancy, but it just will never work.

We'll figure the signature out, as for the CPU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161006
It can and will be done. Now go away naysayer!

You can't be serious?!?
I thought you were joking when you said you asked HTC for their key.
CERT.RSA is a signed x.509 certificate which is basically a public key signed by some certifying authority (I didn't bother to check if it was self-signed). It is a PUBLIC key. You use it to verify signatures. You need the PRIVATE key to actually sign. They aren't going to give you that--I guarantee it!

Do some research on Google, you can change these setting without an app. I have used a value in the build.prop file before, but I believe that there is a better way to change the LCD density.
Also; learn to use the edit button, double posts for no good reason are a pain.

So... you've just discovered that the Froyo+Sense ROM you've had someone working on doesn't actually have Sense? Which was also part of the reason you needed a different kernel for the touch screen to work?
this doesnt make any sense lol xD why not just wait untill a leaked rom from this new phone is found... it runs froyo sense and its basically an european version of the htc aria with another name and color of course xD

I know he DOES have a rom because he is in my team.
Just curious after all these weeks and keeping up with the old threads. I'm assuming it's no longer a secret
Many apologies if it's detailed somewhere as I have yet to discover it.
It's not been released yet as to what it does exactly. And hopefully it stays that way... so HTC can't figure it out and stop it in a future update
I'm willing to bet HTC downloaded it like the rest of us, parsed through the file and figured it out fairly quickly. Unfortunately, I downloaded it like the rest of you, parsed through the file and have no idea what any of it is

Nor will you know what it's doing because they didn't release the source and it is nearly impossible to decompile it and figure it out the way they did it. I'm glad they did it this way even though I would like to know, it's just better this way.
It's a binary file. Which means it is extremely difficult to decompile and see the code to know what it's doing. Some strings may show in it, but it's near impossible to know what the rest says without out knowing what kind of data type every bit of data is.

It's only there so that if something goes wrong (bricked phones, etc.) the Revolutionary team can pull the tool and not just have others uploading it and having more phones bricked. They r not interested in getting your serial number because it's unless without the IMEI anyway (as far as I know). Basically if u can't get a beta key you can't run the tool.

The unlocked bootloader doesnt pass the info along. If we can manually put the info in. We could theoretically have unlocked 4g till yays fixes the bootloader

Under NAI and username for me, it looks like some kind of unique username that's just a jumble of letters and numbers.
Basically im curious if we could emulate the missing wimax info that isnt passed along

Hmmmm, interesting (strokes goatee)
@joker
Have you tried copying over the NAI and user data? If not, I just backed up my daily and could give it a shot. The passcode should be the same for 3G and 4G and this may be the missing piece.
ill look into this tonight too .. when i get into work
Im recovery/kernel testing atm. Thats why i asked if someone could try it.

Running a back-up right now (forgot that my last backup was corrupted) and will flash back to stock to pull the info. I will have to drive to a 4G area to test so it may be a little while (about an hour) unless dcowboys beats me to it.
If this works it will be different for everyone and i still want a proper unlock

True. It would still be a workaround but would only require the user have their user info and MSL to edit it. I think many would jump on this til a perm fix is available. It may also point to where initial problem is in the unlock method.
Dear lord look out for msl threads

I would personally test it, except I don't know my MSL... and I have a memo due for my lawyering class.
Fell asleep during the sbf flash. I'm gonna have to get back with everybody on this after I get some sleep. One thing I did notice is that the 4G MAC is missing on joker rom prior to flashing but this could be due to me cross flashing backups for testing and is restored after the stock sbf.

Are there any ICS skins available for Sense 4.0
Nothing but stock that I can find. I think it will take some time. Also, I don't know if there are tools out yet. I actually want to take a stab at it myself, so I tried to get set up with Eclipse and the OpenSense SDK, but had trouble getting the SDK to download. Not even sure if this would give me what I need either. If anyone with more knowledge on theming Sense 4 reads this, anything you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If anybody can do it, it would be jeffsanace or Mayfield. You should try asking them.

As of right now there is not much skin wise that can be done :'(

The rate of development for this device is pretty high for how young it is. And with the momentum the other HTC One series devices are getting, we may be pleasantly surprised at how quickly it happens. Keep your fingers crossed gentlemen.

You need an HTC developer account I believe for access to the SDK. I also think its free to sign up for.

Yup, I do have one, and from what I've read, SDK manager should prompt me for those credentials, but instead, it just gives me an error, "peer not authenticated". Their are others out there having the same problem, some able to solve it, and some not. I went so far as to completely wipe my dev env and set it up from scratch, but to no avail. I'm kind of out of ideas at this point, but I'm going to keep researching and trying to fix it. Do you happen to know if the OpenSense SDK gives you any tools for making skins? I'm guessing that if mayfield and knightwolf didn't mention it it probably doesn't, since these guys are seasoned themers, but who knows...

Would love to see this come to fruition. If mayfield says it can't be done, that's obviously no good. Looks like we'll be waiting a while (for what exactly?)

Well what we need is a updated m10 editor so that the shared m10's can be opened and the imaged decoded so they can be edited(like clock flips and numbers, dock, etc....)

Can someone explain to me the reason we can't use another HTC unlock.bin on the DNA.
The HTC Vivid (AT&T) went from 2.3.7 to 4.0.4 Offically. So that means the HBoot got upgraded.
Now why wouldn't i be able to use the unlock.bin from the Viv, and unlock the DNA in the same way?
I want to try, but i don't have a backup verizon phone.
I know the DNA is a quad Viv a Dual
one GSM and ond CDMA/GSM
Any input?
I know it may be a stupid question, and it may get me flame, But what exactly does the DEV tool use from out OEM identifier?
We used to have the option under other Devices, until the 2.04
The unlock.bin is tied to the specific device that was used to get that giant block of text. You can not use one dna's unlock.bin to unlock another DNA and definitely can't use one from another device to unlock a DNA.

Can you use your phone number without having your SIM ?
I'm assuming that the devices token is embedded in the unlock_code.bin file, so I was curious on if it was possible to hack an unlock_code.bin to insert your token in to it. I tried to look in to it with a file hex editor, but I couldn't make sense of anything to know where to even begin, It much be encrypted.

Maybe if you have a supercomputer and a few years to crack whatever encryption they use on that file, it aint gonna happen.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
It's because you create the unlock token from the device. It's not one they just email to you. You pull unique identifiers from your device and then they use that information with their automated processes and they build the unlock code with it.
If it wasn't unique to the device, only one person would need to claim responsibility and agree to the license terms with HTC and then it could be passed around like a cheap craigslist date.

now that the Source code is out for the 2.04 update, we might get closer to an unlock
