Hey guys my O1 is crashing and cant boot and i plan to buy a new O1
But theres a risk that i my new O1 maximum OC will be probably less than 700mhz.
My current O1 stable OC is 768mhz im afraid my new O1 cant handle more than 700mhz like some of you guys O1 do.
So what should i do?

I thought you were going to buy a Gio and sell your O1?
OT: Just buy it and hope for the best. I've never heard of someone who can't go to at least 700mhz.

No ill stick with my O1 and will spend my money on a 16gb memory card.
Well hopefully if im lucky, im getting a O1 that overclockable and stable to at least 806mhz

Well, Good lucky man. My O1 can overclock to 806 stable and is blazing. Hope you can too.
Guys
Mine is ARMv6-compatible processor rev5 (v6l) which came up with 2.2 v20e
And yes it goes stable in 806.
Does it have to do with rev5 which make it stable in that frequency ? Whats yours revs and how high ?
I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with v20e LOL

If I sell my optimus I need only $20 more to buy a gio.
I just want to buy it bcos it has no problem with multitouch and no touchbug. And a little bigger processor than optimus.
Worth it? If not why.
And dont tell me to buy other expensive phones like sgs2 and such

IMO, I would never/ever buy Samsung device again (I still have Samsung Galaxy), cause their support sucks big time. Unless the unit is from top of the line products.
Regarding Samsung Galaxy Gio:
- it has less internal memory then O1
- OS is 2.2 Froyo (don't know if it will get 2.3 version)
- 1350 mAh battery vs 1500 mAh from O1
- how much RAM it has is a real question (cause RAM is a must have)
In the end: I don't think that just because of a faster processor (800 MHz) is worth your money and an upgrade. Better wait till fall for other, maybe better upgrade.
So that's a big NO for this option (but in the end it's your choice).

There is no point in going for Gio, and selling Optimus one. Whats the major difference in both the phones except the Gio using chipset Qualcomm QCT MSM7227 which is overclocked at 800mhz. If you using custom rom, the least OC you get in optimus one is 729 which would be stable.
So does it make any difference of mere 70-100mhz. Offcourse, you can somewhat resolve the touchscreen bug issue through mik's kernel.
The rest screen resolution, camera etc are same. Its not worth to pay extra to get the Gio, when you have a working CM7/GB rom for optimus one.
PS: I am not sure about the ram in Gio, but if its <=512mb (optimus one), thn you are wasting your money.

i hardly think there would be a dev section for gio in xda so custom roms would be out of question...if ur buying a new phone, buy d 1 which has good developer section.

Exactly, plus increase your budget to buy a better phone in future rather thn selling the current phone and buying a downgrade phone with no dev support yet, plus ram is still questionable.
Guys guys I don't really care about custom roms or kernel. Because gio don't need them. It has nothing to fix such as multitouch bug or touch bug 100% cpu or gpu or whatever.
And RAM problem? I don't think so, my friend own a galaxy ace and has no ram problem whatsoever he even use 5 homescreens with launcher pro.
And the battery thingy, I do not care less even if optimus had 1500mah than 1350mah(gio) or whatever bcos I still ended up charging it every single day and same goes with gio in the future too I guess. So the difference is not that big in battery imo.
And like I said, I don't plan to buy gio for an upgrade phone I just want it because it has no problem especially touch and multitouch problem which optimus had now, and the official gingerbread rom kernel still hasn't fixed this issue.
Oh and no gingerbread updates? I DONT really care. Although I read some news that ace, gio, fit and galaxy mini WILL get gb updates sometimes this year.

No one has said anything about low ram ? Did someone ? I said I was not able to find how much ram does it have.
You should buy Gio, as you have already made up your mind and wasting time of others saying Gio has this/that. You get the reviews which are not bais on the device they are using. Good luck with your purchase.
Less Ram often means less speed because ram need to get flushed more often to load new data. Just like when using a pc. It's getting less responsive.
It will be a good riddance from our community!! Go for it

Update your phone to gingerbread from the LG update and see if you still have problems. The Gio is probably the better off phone if your looking for just stock, but the hack community here is the best and you will regret not having such a great team of devs that work on the optimus.
i searched many forums about is it possible to oc msm7227-1 turbo to 1GHz with stability but i was unable to find strong answer ..
my question is :
1. is msm7227-1 turbo or msm7227T is different from msm7227 ? i know they are but is turbo one is overclocked by factory or not?
2.is it possible to overclock msm7227T to 1GHz in near future with stability? because its predecessor msm7227 which 600MHz by stock can be oc to 750-800Mhz
is it possible to msm7227T to oc or its only be oc to 864-921MHz??
please reply i m searching over days here but i didnt get the answer...

I don't see what the need to overclock the phone is? Are you trying to run Call Of Duty on it? Ketut's OC kernel will take you to just over 900mhz. Any higher and your device will reboot.
If your SGA is slow, chances are you need to free up a little more RAM. Not everything is attributed to the CPU speed.
All it'll do is give you slightly better benchmark scores (who cares) and sap your battery quicker.
Hope that didn't sound too condescending btw =S

Some ROM's permitted to overclock the Optimus One to 867 MHz,but my one, cant do even 787 MHz,because appear an Kernel panic and they Shutting down,WHY? how to overclock more? and the difference between .32 and .35 kernel?(what are that numbers ?)
787 is stable ..
Overclocking beyond that will reduce the lifetime of the phone and its capacity to withstand overclocking ..787 is quite sufficient ..

but mu Optimus the maxium without Kernel panic is 768 MHz,if i put 787 MHz a random time they "kernelPanic" and shutdown uff why? i cant keep it at 787

You're better off sacrificing the ~2% difference for better stability.
Different CPU's have different tolerances.

First, I have to tell you that I own an HTC Inspire so I am not certain that this will actually help, but I have seen many cases when people try to overclock their cells and experiencing crashes. The main reason is that your Rom might be overclocked already and then the app you are using might be in conflict with the script in the kernel. The other reason, might be that you phone canĀ“t be overclocked to 806 and therefore you should try a bit less. As I said before I do not own an LG but I am pretty sure that CM7 is overclocked in its kernel...hope it helps.
Another reason can be that your chip can't work at this speed without problems. There's a reason why manufacturers use a certain frequency for their processor, it's a ratio between power consumption, heat, and maybe reliablility... Some processors can handle perfectly the overclock, some don't...
.

The most stable frequency is 729mhz and since you are a n00b, u shud use it since higher frequencies may give you random reboots after an hour and stuff.. different phones have different capabilities... some have even gone to 864mhz which is impossible on 99.9% optimus ones... rest 0.01% are lucky...
for u stable is 787...
everyphone is different and stable at different frequencies...
