This might have already been posted (btw I did a search), where can I download the power down screen that gives you the multiple options of rebooting, power down, bootrecovery, bootloader, and etc? I want to load it on Froyo. is that possible?
Thanks in advance.
It's baked into custom roms

BAMF roms have it, not sure of others

I just recently flashed Superclean 2.9.2. Runs great, btw. Since I like touchwiz, I installed the TW framework from Adry's SC thread in the developers forum. Now, the power button doesn't offer a menu for shut off. A short press gets sleep mode, a long press has the phone vibrating like an error occurred and then resets. My guess is that it's due to the TW launcher. Any suggestions as to how to get a better TW launcher or a way to get the options to shut-off or airplane mode back?
Thanks.

You are probably putting frameworks/jars together that dont all have reboot options built in
Just reflash the rom...if you want twlauncher back just pull it from the deodexed eb01 in development or the modified one from crushd in themes/apps
Try launcher pro, you might like it... i was a little hesitant at first, but i cant stand tw now. Lp offers a more real android experience, tw is trying to be like the iphone. the combination of lp, sc 2.9.2, and spare parts and all the customizing you can do with each one makes for a hell of a fast, fun phone... imo

Background:
I started off with with stock ROM + Root. I then applied the 14 toggle Mod. I've also applied a battery meter mod from UOT. I've recently flashed Mikey's S8 ROM which if my memory serves, had the CRT(?) animation when locking the phone. Well I decided that I was more of a fan of the 14 toggle mod than the one that Mikey included in his ROM (just personal preference). I applied the 14 toggle mod after flashing S8.
Problem:
If I hold down the power button, my phone appears to perform a 'soft' reboot. It looks like my launcher crashes which causes the reboot possibly. I get no menu when holding the power button down, just the crash. I also have no animation when pressing the power button to lock the screen.
Is there anyway to resolve this without reflashing S8?

Unless you are very technically inclined and have a lot of extra time to waste
there is no way to resolve this issue unless you reflash the rom.
Reflashing the rom is by far the fastest, easiest and the most sure way
to resolve your issues.
I was hoping there may be a couple files that I could replace and flash. I'm fairly technical, but still learning the ins and outs with Android. My only Qualm with reflashing is running into the same issue with the Battery Mod and 14 toggle Mod.

I can tell you one thing for sure, and that is that the 14 toggle mod
is NOT causing the problem at all. I use it all the time and I also
use the UnNamed 1.04 custom rom.
So most likely it's the Battery Mod which is causing the problem.
I use the blue neon digital battery mod with my phone which works great.
Try to install/flash a different battery mod see what happens.
Good Luck!
i've searched and could not find...so basically what the title is....
is there anyway to make the home button the unlock button???
as i think the power button is almost as awkward as my atrix unlock button. just curious....i'm still running a stock rom..so i'm guessing if this option was available it would have to be in a custom rom...maybe cm7 as that has a lot of different options.
anyhow just a question.
Kind Regards
Matt
sorry i've been a spoon. i've asked the question, but not actually tried it! whoops. mod can close this!!!! my bad!!! i usually am more observant than this i swear!!! :S
Hi I'm running Villainrom 3.0.0 and if i hit home, wait until lockscreen appears then hit home again, it unlocks.
I'm sure this is not an added mod as VR is as close to stock as possible.
That could be useful but for the moment im going to be staying stock. My past android phones have always been better away front stock. But i do like this.

Having followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1544855 I have installed the ROM and rooted my pad however one thing that seems strange is the powering down/up
long press of power button gives 2 options power down or restart
a restart will go through all the boot up animation etc but if I turn device off I'm not sure if it turns off properly because when I turn it back on say an hour later there is no boot animation and my home screen comes up virtualy straight away
is this normal
I believe you need to go to setting, and disable fastboot. It's near the bottom at the setting page.

You can use a program called "Quick Boot (Reboot)" it provides you with an option that will truly power the unit off.

Are you on honeycomb? I don't remember hc that much since after I bought it, I immediately install ICS on it. On my HUAWEI phone (froyo) it is on settings - applications. On my HTC phone (gb) it is on settings - power.
This really should go in development but the post count thing is nixing that.
My evo 4g lte is htcdev rooted, and I have twrp 2.1.8 installed as recovery.
Had queued zips to install viperrom elite 1.2 and 1.2.1, the progress bar is churning along, but the console hasn't moved on from "setting permissions", and is still on file 1 of 2, yet it's been a good 25 minutes... I get the feeling something's wrong, but without the ability to battery pull, I don't really know what to do.
The phone is not frozen btw, clock keeps updating, hitting power button brings up lock slider etc, just don't know how to cancel the install because it seems like it's taking a crazy amount of time.
Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT
Sigh nvm, looks like this was premature, apparently the problem was with queuing the zips as I suspected.
Also, apparently, the force reset involves holding down power button until buttons start flashing then simultaneously holding down the camera button for a bit as well. At least that seems to work for me.
