looks like my connector moved a little bit so now it's hard to connect the cable to my phone, my question is: Will they check if i'm rooted or not if i will go and repair it? Or is there any other way?
Perhaps someone can make a picture of the phone connector from very close so i could see if it really moved? Thanks in advance.

Just put the stock rom back on, that will unroot you and return the phone, they cant really blame a software hack on a hardware issue They do use some common sense

Same question from me. I have the USB jig for the SG2 and wonder if it works and will reset the binary counter on the tab?
I have the Samsung TAB USB-adapter but I need an additional male USB-female micosub adapter to try the USB jig out, and before I do try to find one I wonder if someone has tried it?

Hey man, it's sad what happened to your tab, but it's getting annoying to see you make so many different posts revolving aroung the very same issue...
Just my thoughts dude...just ask how much is worth to repair it! Maybe the price is ok!!

Hey, well I would LOVE to have someone else repair it for me but I can't, I called samsung they wont take it because the unit is from USA, i can't send it to USA because I am not a US resident, I can't send it to Service Absolute (even using my own money) becuase they don't repair non-canadian units... So what can I do?
Flip it on Craigslist?
EDIT, nevermind, I misunderstood the question.
Great Question

I was reading this thread and I have been looking for the same answer for my Note 10.1 2014 edition. USB Jig without seeing the tech explanation and drawing upon my own technical experience clears some memory locations in flash binary that hold values for tracking flashing, maybe the boot loader and some other values. If I could see or find the tech manuals I might get a better understanding. However, this USB Jig is a technician tool of convenience and necessity to gain access and repair electronic equipment. Basically, it shuns or shorts across two pins in the USB with a load (resistors) so it isn't out of control short and manages the amount of juice or some electricity to clear those registers and reset the electronic device safely. The real technical question are all Samsung electronic circuits in phones and tablets access the same way, or is there a different pin configuration to be used, or a different sequence of steps to prep or follow up with, or almost finally can't work as the USB doesn't access the same parts of the electronic circuit. Lastly, if an experiment is done to just go ahead and use the USB Jig. Will it be a harmless attempt or will using the USB jig damage the circuits in the device? The last question is a show stopper, Dirty Harry type of question. Did you get an answer yet by experiment or by someone passing on the answer from their experience. Someone knows this answer and I am going to have it. This is how open source, crowd sourcing works.
BTW you question is valid one as now that Samsung Tablets are all on USB and people are going to continue to want to experiment with ROMS and modifications. So this answer will need to be answered in the near future. Samsung benefits from their products ability to be hacked and modified as this one of the consumer draws to buy. However, now Samsung is gaining more and more commercial success they may attempt to limit this activity. The downside for Samsung is that they end of having to respond to experiments gone bad, bad business for them. So hence their service attention to the flash binary "got ya trap and take a penalty, warranty voided", to limit those activities.

hi guys,
after abit of help. i bought a hdmi adaptor, from amazon this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007K8NNOA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
so that i would be able to play content from my phone straight through to my tv. I also bought a new hdmi lead and i connected using the phone charger and lead that came with the phone.
When i plug it all together it shows on the phone that hdmi out is connected and i can display video or photos on the external device. But no matter what i do i cannot get a picture to display on the tv.
Am i doing something wrong? Or does it never work? I tried rebooting the phone i tested the hdmi lead to make sure it works. Is there another option on the phone i need to select to i need to use a different app?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Are you on the stock rom/kernel? I can't say I use this feature as much as I thought I would, but I have noticed some kernels break this feature (though I can't say which ones anymore - been a while) and I've seen some roms break this as well. I don't know if this was a placebo or what, but I also noticed that it broke for me after removing some of Sprint's or HTC's bloatware... I think it was the transfer app, but it doesn't make much sense to me why.
I'd try it on a full stock rom/kernel first to make sure it's not software related. Then try it on multiple TVs. I actually had an experience once where it wouldn't display on my TV, but worked fine on my HDMI enabled pc monitor - same symptoms you're describing. Tried different kernel, all was better. But I've also read about people just having a bad mhl adapter or bad hdmi cable too.
As above it needs to be supported by rom and kernal. Try a stock configuration and see what happens. If that fails it might be a faulty adaptor, these cheap ones are known to fail easily.
i appreciate your guys help. i am on stock rom/kernal. my tv is pretty new. The phone is showing as having a hdmi connection so wasn't sure if it could still be the adaptor? i will try it on another tv at the weekend. if it still doesn't work maybe send the adaptor back?
so it should display whilst playing a film through the stock video player? i dont need to use a special programme or anything else?
It automatically displays whatever is on the phone's screen. No need for anything special beyond plugging it in. It could still be a faulty adapter even though the phone shows hdmi.
Another idea might be to double check your tv out settings on the phone. Make sure those are correct.

I can't remember exactly. It's in the phone settings. I'm on the ice cream sandwich leak so I think it's a little different.

@ scariola thanks i tried your suggestion as well.
i would be really interested to hear if anyone ever got this to work?
You have to have it plugged into the wall outlet as well. Just a thought

still thanks for all the help.
Hi phone s2 i9100g is showing charging without charger connected. no water damage. Is it a serious issue. Another issue is sometime my all audio/video appc faces struggle in running.(not running smoothly). Are both issues related. And what is the solution.
It's called "ghost charging" and it has been extensively discussed (and solved) many times. Search and you'll find those threads.

Yeah it happens. Happened to me a couple months back. Above poster is correct, there's a lot of threads on it. Most of them won't mention ghost charging though, so to tip you off..... you need to replace the USB flex board. However, I'm not sure of the procedure for an i9100G, something the above poster doesn't mention... I'm not too sure how many threads you'll find for the "G" variant. Long and the short of it, you need to replace the USB flex board. Up to you if you DIY or pay someone to do it.
As far as your phone not running smoothly goes, when did you last do a factory reset? Back up everything you need (via Kies, I assume you're not rooted). Messages, contacts (sync them to a google account), and anything else you can think of. Note you'll lose all your apps with a factory reset, but your photos & videos will be fine.

Thanks for reply. Actually I have changed 4-5 roms and getting this problem(charging+audio/video smoothness, even caller tune) in all. Now i flash stock via odin but no help. actually i have to press(little) phone down from screen after connecting charger for charging. I am thinking these two are related because may be faulty usb port makes some short circuit type thing which makes error in audio smoothness.
Either all sound related apps get struggle or all run smoothly in both speaker and headphone. i think my audio gets error that why video also face problem in running.

My apologies as well for assuming you weren't rooted (see the importance of telling the information when asking for help?).
I can't say if they're related, unfortunately I don't know much about the hardware layout of our phones. But the way to move forward is definitely to get the USB board fixed first. Then see what happens to the audio problem. If you don't have any luck with that, then post up and we'll see.
I faced the same issue in my xperia sl , but it was not so serious , just connect the charger again and remove ....

Ya sure. let I change usb port first and see what happens to audio issue. By the way thanks a lot for your kind reply.
I too had this issue. But a little meticulous cleaning of the USB port solved it. You could try that first, just to be sure.

hello to comunity,
i have the samsung galaxy s 2 gt-u9100 mobile phone and everything was perfect untill i opened the phone, the phone has problem at the back housing so i ordered a new one and replaced it, i made everything with caution and slowly. while i changed the back housing i opened the phone and everything was good untill i saw that there was no signal. i did it 2g and i see that there is onlu on raw ar the signal and sometimes none.
i opened the phone again and checked everything but saw nothing wrong. as i searched i saw that the GSM is this part and the cable that connects the antenna is this one . both of them are perfect.
i lost all my day trying with that , at start i had SlimRom 2 then i put the stock one via Odin but it didnt boot, stocked in the boot image (didnt wanted to search why ) so i flashed kernel again and then NeatRom, still no signal and then i went back to SlimRom. but the problem as i saw is not from the rom .
if anyone knows about that thing and tell me what to do i would be gladfull .
That bit is the antenna c/w speaker. There is a thread related to this about usb replacement.People mention about similar problems when they remove the antenna cable.
Heres a pic of spares I have, and look at the gold contacts on the antenna,as they need to be in good contact with the ones on the usb board.Maybe its that,or maybe new antenna is faulty.Try your old one in to eliminate that though. It could even be the antenna cable.
The thread is by someone whos name is Dugud,or similar

maybe take it to a shop with someone who knows what they are doing. I just had to do this with mine, I considered trying to get parts cheap and diy then I considered how much time and stress it could cause me = not worth it. It cost me £25 to have usb replaced, second thing I checked was the signal as I see many having problems with this - outcome is my phone is working sweet again and it only took a couple of hours of my time :cyclops:
Best of luck
Did you read that thread?.I seen a post on here once where someone said they removed that white antenna cable, then refitted it,and lost signal. Then they bought a new cable, which solved the problem.
Also, you dont know the condition of the part you changed, and theoretically you are meant to use anti static wristband and mat when your touching sensitive electronic components......lol

Hi all.
I'll make it as short as possible:
My USB port is misbehaving.
Only charging is working at the moment, any connection to PC doen't work (with latest drivers).
ADB doesn't recognize the phone too, neither when on or in recovery.
Tried stock FW, latest stable CM and latest nigthly CM but same result.
I think this happened after going with the phone out to the snow and probably some water entered the usb port.
I really think it's a bad USBport and/or flex cable.
I have few questions:
1. I saw I can buy the connector only or the flex cable + connector. How can I know whether replacing only the connector will solve the problem?
How can I determine whether the problem is only in the connector or in the flex cable also or maybe even worse (motherboard or something)?
2. Does it matter where to buy the parts from? I don't live in the USA so i'll be ordering from ebay/dx probably.
3. Do you have any other tips/suggestions? Am I in the right direction at least?
Thanks a lot!
Hoping for your kind help :fingers-crossed:
Just buy the whole bit from a trusted seller. And first read the threads by duguet and keithharross about usb ports.
Then youll know whats what.

The thread is this one. I have a port problem myself, and it sounds like this is so common they should probably sticky it. I'm actually thinking of trying to send a bunch of "my usb/flex broke" links to the repair center to show them how often the issue comes up (but then again, they probably already know that :-/)
