Im currently running Bionix V 1.3.1 with crisis theme for more than 3 months. The only issue I have with my phone is my email exchange client (process.com.android.email) don’t work and forcecloses everytime I open it. When I flashed my current ROM, I uses SGS Tools to flash Galaxy tab email app. It has been FCing since then. Is there a way this issue can be fixed?
Thanks so much.

I have a site that had offered the Gtab email for a long time. What it sounds to me is that you need to delete cache and data which is left over from the original app. Menu> settings > applications> manage applications> all tab> scroll down to email app and delete any cache and data then reboot. Contact Krad42 for questions about the client. He is the originator of the version with security removed and knows a lot.
Thanks so much.

Thanks for the reply. I followed your steps, cleared data (the 'clear cache button wasn't highlighted') and the problem persists and im stillg getting fcs.
Another thing I forgot to mention was when I go to menu > settings > accounts & sync > add account > microsoft exchange activesync ..... it FCs on me.
Now im at a point I just want my ms exchange activesync to work.

I know this sounds crazy but the email app from the Charge works with my Roadrunner email account - the email app from the Fascinate does not. I tried to push it with root explorer on my rooted Fascinate but it force closes when i launch it. Anyone wiling to help? Thanks so much.
my roadrunner works on mine. what problem are you having?
I get connection problems. I am on the roadrunner.com server not rr.com and the incoming and outgoing settings take when setting up but when checking email, it gives a connection problem via a yellow bar that appears.
Settings I use:
u: [email protected]
pop-server.roadrunner.com 110
mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com 25
I'm having this issue with my hotmail account. I had to download a hotmail app.

I've read other posts where its been a known issue with the fascinate's email app and how it interacts with certain pop3 servers. I think they resolved it in the Charge since I tried my email account on co-worker's phone.
Just use another email app
Thanks, but with all due respect, that's not the point...if the gps didn't work, then just buy a garmin? And if the phone camera froze when taking pics then just use a traditional camera?
Try searching for the email.apk from the Galaxy Tab. That works on our phones, and mighty fix your problem.
I use pop-server.cinci.rr.com since I'm in Cincinnati. Double check your server address. It works great on my fascinate on the tw email app.

Why don't you just have your gmail get it for you?

This make absolutely no sense. I said just get another email app, There are definitely email apps in the Market. Your telling me to go spend money on something else. If your normal email app doesn't work just go get another app, its not hard.
Here you go Even deodexed it for you
I pushed file to system/app thhen changed permissions and removed the old email.apk but when I reboot, I get a looping forceclose of the process com.android.email even before I attempt o launch it. Has anyone else tested this?
I copied the Galaxy Tab email.apk from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810454
Root Explorer - copy\move existing email.apk to a backup folder and then copy\move new .apk to app folder. Clicked on it, installed, and reconnected to email account.
sadly, corporate email administrator settings for security lock on screen timeout still doesnt work. Otherwise, it works and looks nice.
Update: suddenly stopped delivering new mail and no manual refresh button. If these 2 things can be resolved by a developer this would be a great email app on the Fascinate, though it does have a distinct ipad feel to it. . Pinch zoom works and in landscape you can roll each pane separately.
Second Update: tried flashable version here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12011499#post12011499
gives manual refresh option, but is not working with Exchange. ( wont download current day mail, only day prior and beyond). sending works fine.
supposedly works with non- Exchange accounts.

I tried it, same problem. Deleted email.apk in Root explorer in between FC's to stop it, reinstalled another .apk
Ok, I did do a search here and I could not find an answer on this forumn.
For all Gmail users...can you share your settings. My Gmail does not seem to sync automatically or if it does it must be just everyonce in awhile cause I am going in and having to do a manual refresh to download my messages.
Photon rooted
I am running juice defender but I don't see anything in my settings there that should effect sync.
How often is your Gmail syncing and how are you adjusting it?
Thanks in advance for your help. BTW- i searched google and several places talk about setting-auto sync...but we don't have that on the Photon.
My email is pushed immediately. Try going into settings > applications > manage applications > gmail and clear data. Restart and send yourself a test email. If that doesn't fix it I'll be surprised. But then Sprint might be having problems in your area.

Ok,I did that and sent mysefl an email. I will see how long it takes to get to my phone. It's already on gmail on my desktop computer.
My other email account seems to push right away.
The odd thing is the email shows up right away in my "all mail" folder but not in my "inbox" folder.
Ok, just in case anyone else has this problem I found the issue and fix on another motorola forum. Go to your widgets and install the power tool. Than press the sync button which is the fourth one from left to right. That will enable auto syncing.
Now if you go to settings-account-google...you will now see all the google applicatons such as books, calendar and email with a checkmark next to them. These check marks were missing from my phone and I had to use the powerwidget to put them back in there. Now I can check them on and off at will.
Only took me two days to find this out.
Dear All,
I have tried asking this in few forums but nothing concrete has turned up. I am truly hoping that somebody can resolve this problem for me.
Here goes,
3 days ago my email app was working fine. i was using IMAP and it is Google apps email address. The separate gmail app i used to use for my personal email address. I was using Frankenstein XWKJ2 and got a boot loop while installing an APK. then i used CWM and restored a backup and unfortunately it was XWKJ1 backup. Just after this restore the email problems started. and now i have tried everything including factory reset but still my email does not work.
But funny thing is Gmail app works perfectly it is only when i configure the Email app for my official address that they do not work. The email app allows me to add and all but while syncing it just keeps refreshing and finally shows no emails. I know we can use K9 but i found the Stock email app very good.
Somebody please help out. I am now on XWKJ2 Firmware (Frankenstein) and Speed MOD kernel.
You should try reflash ROM

You can try the following:
1. Open Settings => Applications => Manage applications.
2. Goto "All" and select E-Mail (if there are two E-Mail apps then do it for both of them).
3. Click "Force stop", "Clear data" and "Clear cache" (if available).
4. Start E-Mail app and configure your GMail account.
Good luck !

@It_ler. Thanks for the idea. I tried it but it is same result. The email app keeps refreshing but does not show any emails.
I will try to give more information i am having a personal normal Gmail address and then my company address is google apps address.
Now my Personal gmail address if i configure in Email app it works perfect but when i do the same thing with the google apps address it does not. Also as for re flashing i have done it quote some times now with complete wipes.
also another funny thing is if i use K9 email then it all works. But frankly i want to use stock email as i was getting used to it.
any solutions.

Still not working. :-(.. Somebody please help out.
This problem resolved by itself when i upgraded to ICS. While upgrading i did a complete wipe and everything started working normally.
Hence request to close the thread.
I am testing MailDroid as an replacement mail app on my ICS SII for getting my mail from an exchange server. I am using the free version with ads -- parallel to the native mail app.
What amazes me, is the data usage of the MailDroid compared with the Exchange Services is round about 10 to 15 times higher then with the native app.
Is that normal? Does anybody has a recommendation of a exchange mail client that behaves a little more reasonable?
I haven't tried it in a very long time, but maybe the reason for high traffic is that it refreshes (re-downloads) the mail each time, rather than making the incremental changes it should?

Recommended Exchange Mail Client?
Thanks UpInTheAir. Any recommendation for an other exchange mail client?
I can not get K9 to work with our exchange server. Any hint on what I should try next would help (Touchdown?, Moxier? Others?).

I'm not sure if you're rooted, but I have used a modded exchange email app for my hotmail accounts. Fairly basic and no html, but worked with push and changes made were reflected on the server if settings are changed to "update to server in case of conflict".
Just need to remove account, clear both email and exchange data/cache in applications immediately before booting into CWM to flash zips. Will force close but don't worry. After flash, may force close again, but clear again. If still have issues, do same and reboot into CWM recovery, clear cache & dalvik & fix permissions.

I am using the last Nov 12 CM10 update and I had problem connecting my exchange account with the stock email app. I tried Enhanced Mail, but it did not sync my exchange calendar. So I disabled the stock Email just to see if the EE will sync the calendar. No luck. The problem is that the stock Email app disappeared. I tried to flash new google apps, but the email still does not show on my app screen. I do not wish to do a reset for now. Is there a way to load the Email app again, and how to make it work with an exchange account. Thank you very much in advance!!!

That's where the magic power of the moderators comes in. PM one of the forum mods and they will move it to the right place.
I will take a look at my exchange settings and stuff and will try and figure out a solution for you when you thread gets moved

I know exchange works on CM10, I'm using stock right now. Gapps has nothing to do with Email so that is why it didn't work. Clear your cache and data for Email and Exchange in setting>application>all.

The problem now is that the Email app is not listed under app or in settings under apps. I loaded a app pack form recovery, but still the Email app is missing.
Any help on this? Really appreciated!

Install new nightly of cm10. Its in the package so either the install will add in back or you can pull it from the zip and push it to /system/apps and fix permissions.
