Basically until we get official gingerbread source we will not have completely stable rims (gps, mute/unmute, wifi calling, etc). Is development for froyo roms completely over. I see a few and in using bionix v. Wondering if any devs willing to continue developing more awesome froyo roms. Maybe more with an aosp look. Don't recommend gb roms because I need gps and call quality for work everyday use.

Um, we do have a plethora stable roms! Just not for 2.3. You probably won't get your request filled 'less you do it yourself. Devs have taken froyo about as far as they can go. There are tons of themes and kernels out there to customize just about any froyo rom to your liking. I'm a personal fan of Bionix 1.3.1 with the Gingerbread launcher. EDT has a bunch of flavors out there, too.
I've heard the Official 2.3.4 will be out this week. (Gingerbread iirc) Any confirmation on that?

Hey guys, been rooted ever since I got my eris, all the devs that have been working on both Froyo and 2.1 ROMS are awesome, don't know how you do what you do!
So here's my Question... When do any of you guys see a sense enabled froyo base rom? I have been switching between all the major froyo builds (tazz, kaos, celeb) and love the speed and reliability of them, but I personally like the stuff htc had done with the OS with the Sense UI. Right now I'm running EvilEris v.4, and that's working for me now, I was just wondering.
This post might do better in the general section, but everyone over here seems to know their stuff.
Thanks for any answers!!

I'm trying to port one, so if it works it will come soon.
I wish Ye luck with that. I'd like to help were I can, would be grateful. I wonder if you're doing a port from the legend or the desire?
I love SenseUI. But any Sense ROM that was 2.1 just lagged in certain areas on my phone. Would be awesome to see a Sense 2.2 ROM without any lag.
So far all of my port attempts have failed but the work continues. I personally can't stand sense ui but a froyo sense port would be sweet.

If I could make a suggestion could it be the espresso version of senseui(the one you like see on the MyTouch Slide), as I have found that to be a bit faster).
I'm also working on porting this... wish me luck!
It's great to see so many developers working on this. I'm hopeful to see one soon.

try Ivan's 1.0. I've had absolutely no lag and I've had over a month's worth of use on it all together.
until a developer comes out with the sense froyo you can alteast use the vatsense docks for launcher pro http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743703
xtrSense will accomodate all of your needs and desires.
I like it better than AOSP Froyo ROMs. Cyanogen added features that only SenseUI had, to make AOSP Android better.
SenseUI > AOSP, and there isn't a WHOLE lot that Froyo Sense does that 2.1 xtrSense by zach.xtr doesn't already do. Just some things that he has to use apps for that Froyo has built in. No big deal.
Since I've just started using ROMS. I was wondering, is there a list or thread of the top 10 most used/best ROMS? Thanks in advance guys!
Not sure of Top 10, All I can say, every one gets a different score or opinion for each rom. Its matterof personal preference on what you like on each rom.
Not in any order or priority, list of roms that have consistent positive feedback and updates.
Team Whiskey
Eugene
Einherjar (Multiple Devs Merged into 1)
Try Nero v4.1 with overclock kernal. This has to be number one. Very fast and stable. 65 fps, 2000+ quadrant scores, no lag issues. Its a very good rom. I'm more than impressed.

For me I can tell you my top 3.
1. Axura 2.2.6.0 - Master
2. Nero 4.1 -Team Whiskey (good if you like overclocking)
3. Pepperkake 3.5.2 - Jelette
All 3 of these roms are fast and stable. I personally found Axura rom to work the best for my needs.

These 3 are all great, and The statement "I personally found the XXXX rom to work the best for my needs" is ultimately the bottom line...... personal choice
I use the Axura as of now, I get least amount of banding in my FFC with it and the best battery life.
Thanks for the info guys!

NERO
GingerClone
Axura
are probably the best, and most popular out currently, i use nero, but love both ginger clone and axura!
Which one gives you the best battery life?
Battery wise, axura gave me the best with no reconditioning.
Nero with reconditioning gives about an hour or less than axura, but battery life is all dependent on how u use your phone
For me, I use axura cos my gps works with it, with nero my gps doesn't.
But have to say battery life with nero is very good.
Would love to try pepperkake /eighnjar ROMs too..

I tried nero, axura, and ginger clone. I personally like ginger clone. I've never said, "i don't like...." I try the new versions of all the roms. I find myself going back to eugene ginger clone. :/

I flashed the latest version of Axura last night and I am blown away. This is my first custom ROM (coming from stock Eclair JI6) and I am loving it. It's hard to believe this was developed by enthusiasts and is available for free. (I will donate of course!)
I am sure the other ROMs are great, too. I'll be trying them soon
I would like to know which of the roms is the most stable.

me too. i'm sick of waiting for 2.2 since it looks as if samsung doesn't care about their customers so i'm looking for the most stable rom from 2.2.
guess i'll try the auxura(sp?) and see how that goes.
i assume you don't lose any apps or anything when changing the roms?
I get the best performance and battery life with Nero V4.1
Everything works flawlessly.

You LOSE all your apps and contacts unless you back them up first! Follow the Noob guide posted in this forum to back up your apps using Titanium backup.
Edit: The Axura update doesn't delete your videos and pictures that you took with the camera. I had backed those up but they were there when the new ROM loaded up
It doesn't wipe your internal or external SD card, but it does wipe all your apps. Everything on SD cards will stay exactly like they were preflash (barring certain circumstances, but I won't get into those right now. These issues are not present with any of the current roms (using stock kernels)
I was wondering what people's opinions are on some of the newer ROMs. I'm currently running Evil Fascination v3.4.2 but I have yet to try any others and I was wondering what the general consensus is on the best ROM right now. I was trying to decide between Evil Fascination ROM, Community ROM, and CyanogenMod ROM. Which one do you think is best?
If I didn't include your ROM (or your favorite ROM), I'm not trying to offend you. It just seems that these are the most popular and most up to date ROMs available.
community is unstoppable
If you can put aside the fact that CM7 isn't fully functional, it is the most amazing rom I have ever used. Gingerbread baby!!! MIUI is awesome as well. But personally, I am an AOSP guy. I don't like TouchWiz roms.

Hey guys I'm new to the fascinate forum I currently have a vibrant a friend is getting the fascinate and I'm trying to find the best rom for them. It doesn't need much flair. Just needs to be smooth and stable preferably a 2.2 rom. Thanks guys lemme know

It comes with stock froyo (2.2) but if you are looking for a custom ROM then you should check out this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090448
Those are the two most popular/stable custom 2.2 ROMs out there. I would read through the posts and form your own opinion. I use Evil Fascination but they are both very good. You should know that there is a high probability of a stable, fully functional custom 2.3 (gingerbread) ROM being released within the next couple of weeks.
Would love to see stable Gingerbread on my beloved Fascinate..
I have rooted my new samsung fascinate after i got the newest verizon software update last week. I then flashed the rom, evil fascination 3.6. I am certainly liking it so far but want to try others. I am just asking anyone who has a sweet looking rom or theme they would recommend? I am looking for something that is stable as well as running smoothly. And definitley has to look good lol. Please let me know everyone!
The other main option is Commuity ROM.
As for looks, go to the Themes and apps sub-forum. You can radically alter how either EF or ComROM look.
I love the CommRom but for me the battery life was horrible no matter what kernels I used.

I highly recommend staying with Evil Fascination. Been running it since May and had no problems. Plus nitro has a handfull of themes in the works for it.
Running the Comm Rom but with the leaked Gingerbread I would wait for a custom rom based on it.
