So my phone started restarting out of the middle of no where and I noticed it happened every time it was trying to mount SD cards, anyone else have this issue? Card is only a month old
Looks like my SD card is causing a boot loop when I restart my phone.
Redmi Note 9s global version
ONN 256GB U3 card.
So far it works in my old phone so I can pull the data off atleast.
My card was attempting to corrupt as well. I cleaned off the metal plates and it seemed to fix me. I would suggest a backup if your PC reads the card.

Mine did this as well, I just took the card out. Re inserted it and has not done it since.

I plugged mine into the computer and it would read it but wouldn't copy anything
I formatted it and it seems to be working fine now

I spent the last few weeks trouble shooting why my phone started to have random lockups/reboots with a growing frequencey. I have through process of elimination found that my external 32gb sd card seems to be the culprit. I used it for 1 week and each day I had my phone reboot itself 5-8 times and randomly lockup while using apps to the point I had to do a battery pull. I then went all of last week and only had to restart my phone 1 time by battery pull *new app froze, found it to be poorly designed* and no random reboots on its own.
I spent last night backing up all the data on my sd card. I kept movies/music/pictures on it but did not run any apps off of the card. I told windows to format it fat32 and then test the card and it said it found no problems. I copied the videos and such back over to the card then installed it. Within 1 hour the phone had already frozen up and rebooted itself.
For reference I am currently running Trigger 3.2 Final with KB5. I have also tried with Project V *forget exact version* and with CM7. All produce the same issue.
If you can think of something else I could try I would be most grateful. I am out of ideas. Have any of you ever experienced something like this?
what brand & class is the SD card?
i saw a deal at target last weekend... $8 for a dane-elec brand 8gb class 4 microSD card at target
i bought it for my gf so she could double the capacity of her current 8gb sandisk class 2 card that she had in her nexus one.
i copied everything over to the new card and after 10 minutes her phone started acting weird. as soon as the screen timed out, it would not come back on. you could operate the phone if you guessed where the buttons were on the black screen; even answer calls!
but you could not get the screen to come back on unless you rebooted and kept it awake.
i thought it was funny that she never had issues until immediately after i put the new card in, so i powered the phone off and swapped the old one back in.
no problems for a whole day. i put the new card back in the next day and it started messing up again.
so we returned the dane-elec and i snagged a kingston 8gb class 4 and tried again. no problems.
i know hers is an N1 but i figured it could be related. good luck!
My card is a Sandisk 32gb Class 4
+24 Hour Bump back up to page 1. Still cant figure this one out.
Have you also formatted the internal and re-installed the rom?
My girlfriends phone was running Axura for like 5 months and started having issues fc/freeze/reboot. I did everything and tried different rom's and kernels still same problems. Formatted internal SD and reinstalled Axura and she's been good since May.
Back everything. Pull the titanium folder. When you reinstall just copy everything back and you should be good. Also check out Br1ck'ds Ginger Zen thread second or third post for ultra cleaning steps.

Had the same issue on project v. Random soft boots and freezes. Thought it was the rom. Tried a few things but noticed the external scanning was unusually long. Took out the card and reformat it. Evrything good again.

Yeah I have tried formatting both through phone and pc no noticible difference. It is the external card causing issues not internal. I could try to format internal but when I installed trigger last it was from a clean print to stock format reroot etc. Process. Not sure if that would be the same more or less.

So I am having a problem where my Sandisk 32GB MicroSD card is getting dismounted from the phone. It gives me an error message like "SD card has been removed. Please use the Safely Eject SD card option to prevent data loss" or something like that. Then, it finds the card and runs the media scan, which renders my card useless for that time period. The screen also turns on for a minute or so during this time. Then it stays mounted for maybe up until 5 minutes before starting over again.
This absolutely rapes my battery, taking it from a full charge to dead battery in less than two hours. I thought maybe the SD card was going bad even though it's fairly new, so I took it out and tried it on my old Motorola smartphone, and it works fine and never dismounts. So I thought perhaps it's something with my phone, so I tried an older 8GB micro SD, and it works fine without dismounting at all.
Some info. Phone is running stock 4.0.4 with root and unlocked bootloader. The 32GB SD card worked fine for maybe 3 months until this problem suddenly started. Any ideas?

It's behaving like mine did when the SD card croaked. 32GB SanDisk here as well...first SD card I've ever had die on me. I was able to get it to read, one time, on my TF101 to rescue my photos...now it won't read anywhere. I'm not sure what to tell you, except that I'd back that card up pronto, just in case...

Yeah, it was a somewhat common issue for a few of us about 4 months ago. I know blenkows and I both had it happening a lot. For me it eventually went away, not sure what the deal was, there.

This
My SD card wouldn't stop doing it. I just gave with it. Uploaded all my music to Google Play, put the 16 GB card that the phone came with in there. All is well now. Haven't had a problem with the card in there yet but I rarely use it now anyways. Basically just there for backups

Well thanks for the responses, I already backed up the data that was on there. I can't find my receipt for it...any idea if Sandisk is good about replaced defective cards?
I went through four RMA replacement 64gb class 10 SanDisk cards, ate the $90 loss and spent $80 on the Samsung equivalent. It's faster and I have had zero problems with it. However, I used SanDisk cards for nearly a decade before those without any problems.
The SanDisk hi capacity cards seem to not work well in the lgog. They worked fine in my card readers, just not the lgog slot.

I also had this problem with a 32gb sandisk. I RMA'd it and it happens less frequently for the new one. I'd say it happens once every few weeks now instead.
It's your card. I haven't experienced this at all n I'm using a no name class 10 32gb card. I was looking scandisk card but luckily I read the reviews n they where all negative

Card is dead for sure. maybe you get unorginal item, I got this problem with my Xperia Z too, card died after few days, now I am using Toshiba Exceria for 9 months and everything is ok..
My Sandisk Ultra 16GB (calss 10) is causing me some problems too. It used to work ok in my Galaxy S2 but now it mounts and unmounts without any pattern.
Maybe it's a phone problem then. Done some searching and apparently there was some kind of problem like this on previous Sony devices

I had problems writing on the SD, but that is a Kitkat problem not Sony. You should put music/films/video on internal, then go to Storage settings and transfer files from internal to SD.

I managed to get card working in note 2 tab formatted it and works again in my phone. Ran one of them h2w tests. And all seemed ok

I'm not sure yet if it's a phone problem or a card one. I swapped the SanDisk with a low end 2 GB card (the only one I had available) and for now it seems the problem stopped. So I think it's the card but I'll keep watching.
PS: Yesterday I was in a trail running race and I recorded a few videos and taken some pictures. I had my SanDisk inside and camera was set on "save on SD". 3 or 4 times the recording stopped because the card was unmounted/mounted again. I changed the settings to "internal" and the problem stopped.
L.E. In my case, the card seems to be problem. Since swapping it with the low end one I had no more problems.
When i insert 64gb sandisk card then a message appeared 'UI system has been stoped' when i eject the card then system become normal
Hello all,
I'm stuck with an issue where my sd Card is mounting and unmounting on a continuous loop. Just upgraded to marshmallow.
I thought my Sd card has Just gone bad, so I purchased a new one. This new card is doing the same. I'm thinking maybe amplify or greenify is shutting down a service for the sd Card. Does anyone know of a solution?

My wife has the same problem with her G3. It started on 35b when she tried to move an app to the external sd card. The problem persisted even pin 10b and now 46a. Tried several sd cards with no luck.
Is there no fix for this? I have a 128GB micro SD card just waiting to be used on my G3.
I've tried multiple cards, reformatted it with the "quick format" unchecked in Windows, and rolled back to Kit Kat. Only thing left to do is replace the slot, which looks time consuming and requires soldering skills. I don't have the latter.
I thought I had a fix. Reformatted the card and it stopped unmounting... It was good for about 5 minutes!
My fiance has a 2nd LG G3 that Just started doing this as well. I'm thinking it is the Rom causing it.

another with this problem
The 64Gb Strontium Micro SD card in my Redmi Note 4x (MIDO) works good, but then becomes corrupt occasionally, (about every 6 weeks).
MIUI says the card is unreadable and needs formatting.
If I take the card out and put it in a computer it can no longer read it either.
If I use DiskGenius, (data recovery software), I can recover the data and save to a computer. I then have to repeat the process of putting the card back in the phone and reformatting it (fat32) then load the recovered data back on at it works again for a while.
Has anybody else encountered this? Do you think it is the card or the phone at fault?
Reformat your system.
What backup tool are you using and your back up timings?
Seems card is being used aggressively?
At same time between multilevel applicatons..
Are you storing and running high configuration apps or games while same time backup etc. Is on?
Hi IODroids, thanks for your reply.
I only use the card to store music and Titanium backups, no apps or heavy usage.
I always format using the phone.
I guess I will know if it is the card or not in a months time.

I was facing that issue long time ago when I used a cheap micro SD. Especially when I worked with multiple or big files (for example with Titanium Backup)
Then I bought another micro SD, a little more expensive and problem solved
OK. I have replaced the micro SD card and can confirm that the replacement has been rock solid with no issues over the last few months.
Just saying this in case someone else has this issue and stumbles across this thread.
