[Q] CM 7 error - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ive looked at every thread and tried every method people have posted but havent profited. Rooted ED01 no Rom. I get an error status 7 every time I go to flash. I used 2.5.1 and the fixed 3 neither have worked. I tried flashing the kernal first then rebooting recovery and still nothing. Can someone help me out? I really want to get back to CM 7.

you probably are getting in to the recovery by using the three button method which doesnt work. i had to root and use clockwork manager to get me in or if you know anything about adb which i dont. you can use that as well

I wish I could quickly find those links for you, but you can Odin a recovery.

in the OP of cm7 flash or odin the cwm then flash the 07/04...once that is up use the shutdown menu to access the Orange [cwm 4.0] cwm. if you do a three finger salute it takes you to the RED [CWM 3.0] cwm.
Then flash the updates.
good luck it was a lesson i learned the hard way lol

Flash it in Odin
sorry but I don't know what you mean....how do I get into odin??
You're messing with your phone's rom/kernel and you don't know what is Odin? You better read first.
Yeah brother you NEED to lookup odin. How did you even get red without using odin to flash recovery?

Well, I had help and my help is not here now......I know, I need to do a little more foot work to educate myself before asking silly questions. I have fun screwing with my phone though!
I did the same, except, being a mac user, I don't use Odin. It was quite simple to root and get the blue recovery on there without ever using Odin. I then (even after reading) flashed CWM using Rom Manager, and now I have the useless orange recovery. From what I understand, I can just place the recovery on the sdcard and flash it in my current recovery. Am I wrong?

Get rid of rom manager. It is useless to us right now. Yes, you can place the zip file for the latest recovery on your sd card and flash through your current recovery.

Problem with T959 after ODIN

I ODIN'd my T959 last night and everything went fine. But now during boot I get the GT-I9000 splash screen... although the phone is listed in the About section as a T959. Worse, I no longer have the green or red recovery, it's blue (even after rooting). I can no longer get to recovery using the 3-button method, I had to root the phone and install ROM Manager in order to get to blue recovery.
I tried using AIO Vibrant Toolbox and still I'm having the same issue.
Any suggestion as to how I can fix this?
Next time you odin back stock, use http://www.multiupload.com/HRYJKFLKFQ instead of the original JFD file. You can probably use this now to get the Vibrant splash back anyway. Just odin like you normally would. And you're supposed to reinstall packages again...Odin resets your recovery.
Since you flashed the GB bootloader, the combos change.
vol up + power=download mode
vol down + power=recovery
read the op next time
Agreed. Reinstall packages in recovery. Sometimes reflash recovery with ROM manager and try again then in recovery choose reboot in recovery. Good luck!

BTW... I read the OP, I assure you. Perhaps I didn't understand it, and that's obvious. But I read the OP. Whenever I flash a ROM I read the entire thread beforehand. I'm still very much a danger to myself and my phone.
laylovj - that did the trick. The splash is back and more importantly, I have data again. I installed SH 3.8 Revolution and it's running great.
Thanks again.

Clockworkmod recovery problem

I'm trying to access the CWM recovery mode, but after reboot, my phone goes into Android system recovery instead.
Any help?
Then you definately don't have CWM installed correctly. If I was you go back to basics and flash stock firmware with Odin, then flash kernel to match the firmware, kernel being CF-ROOT okay? Please press thanks if this helps

I was getting this as well... Cwm is installed it's just annoying. When you get to stock recovery hold home, power, and volume up and it should get you back to cwm. It is a very serious issue that gets very little discussion. Whatever you do don't wipe with stock. I did... Very long and tedious process to get back.

Maybe you lose your root, root your phone again

I have the same or similar problem, just trying to do a nandroid backup. CWM is definitely installed and no matter what I try it will only boot into sammy's 3e recovery.
This may help or point in the right direction. I found a YouTube vid about loading a modded version of the 3e without sig verification (can't post link, so search YouTube for 3e recovery mod) but it looks like that was for an AT&T model. I tried to do the same on my S2 but the recovery file is not in the same place, I did find a recovery file somewhere else in the system but when I replace that with the modded version it just reverts back to the original. Anyway, there must be something like this for standard international S2's anybody seen it ? if so please post the link.
But like ChongDroid says, it's a big problem with not much discussion.

same problem...only works with volume up but is that really a problem?
only change volume up instead volume down?
Pretty much if you use ROM manager to get into stock recovery and you've selected an install or a nandroid backup. It'll boot into recovery, try to install something, fail and then your prompted to reboot your device.. At this point you can ONLY select reboot, I repeat DO NOT wipe or anything in this menu. Do the three finger salute (manual recovery entry) instead of rebooting and she should take a second.. Then you might see rebooting but don't worry.. Keep holding.
Eventually it'll boot into cwm and get right on that install or nandroid with out navigating the menus.
K so one more time ppl, from 3e don't reboot, three finger salute. It rhymes
Cwm is there right along with root... She just needs a little push

No joy with the three finger salute
Well, I tried the three finger salute, held it for about three minutes and that is a feat on its own, but no re-boot into CWM happened, it did re-boot but only into 3e again. with a message about loading multi csc.
I guess there are too many variables to this problem to get a definitive answer, what works for someone does not appear to work for another.
Thanks anyway.

Cant boot into CWR

I got my bell s2 rooted and removed the triangle. Rom manager seem to install the CWR. However, when I boot using the volume up, power, and home button, I always get the android 3e recovery mode, not the CWR. What am I doing wrong? How can I get into CWR to install the cognition rom? THANKS SO MUCH!
I would really appreciate if someone enlightened could explain this as well. I thought cwm wrote over the stock recovery? Its happened to me a few times and I've even had to flash with the damn PC at the convenience store via Odin (I'm a Mac guy) just to get into cwm to restore. If your in the actual stock recovery just three finger salute instead of reboot. Should carry out the command too can't wait to sell this thing and get the nexus. Great phone, just hate Odin and love fast boot lol

I think i read somewhere that rom manager isn't compatible with s2.. Better flash cf-root by chainfire, it is pre rooted and has cwm installed..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
It sounds like you've lost root trying get rid of the triangle. Reflash cf root kernel, install your rom then buy a jig to remove the triangle. Jigs are as cheap as chips on ebay.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Don't use rom manager, simply flash the cf-root kernel and you'll have your cwm recovery.
I finally got it to work, thank you to all who posted!
Now I installed a custom rom on and now my samsung apps store is missing! anyone know how i can get it back?

Brick after Rom Manager Reboot?

Hi
I searched and only found similar cases with other phones and no solution.
I was on stock 4.0.3 with CWM, rooted and siyah kernel and tried to upgrade to CM9
with Rom manager
i dled cm9 with gapps and let ROM Manager do the backup, wipe and reboot to recovery
but then i just saw the first GT 9100i boot screen with the triangle and after that
the screen stayed black.
i noticed in a darker area that the screen blinked everey few seconds, so i guess its trying to reboot all the time. some kind of bootloop?
i cant access the cwm, nor boot normaly.
just the download mode is working
so i tried to flash a stock FW from intratechs thread via odin
but... FAIL
help would be much appreciated right know :crying:
thank you
Mmm I've had issues with rom manager before but never this severe. All I can suggest is what I would do which is to fash stock firmware from samfirmware via PDA section in odin. If this doesn't work I think there is a sticky thread which is dedicated to situations like this. It requires flashing a firmware via odin again but all partitions are used so it will wipe your device. All the best.

Can you still get into Download Mode?
EDIT:
Try manually wiping data, cache and dalvik cache.
Try to go into recovery. Hold down volumen up, home key, and power on, at once hold them down ontil you reach recovery.

I had that problem too-a black screen with a flash down the rh side of the screen every few seconds.
I managed a repair via odin after a couple of attempts.

Flash a stock kernel then wipe everything the recovery it comes with. Also make your flashing roms for your 9100i model.

I have the very same problem as you.
I can enter download mode but can't enter recovery mode.
I can flash any rom I can find but all of them have no use.
Still can't boot nor recovery.
Have you fixed the problem just by reflashing stock rom?

Yes, that's our fault that haven't read enough before installing a software.
But is there any way to revive our phone?

the only way to revive ur phone, is to flash a stock ICS 4.0.3 firmware thro 'ODIN' and have a clean boot of ur phone
and never use 'Rom Manager' in the future
