if we have a temp root at the moment, shouldn't we technically be able to find a way to make the screen pretty much 3D all the time? im new to this phone so its just a question.
im pretty sure it'll drain the battery like crazy but pretty much make a double image of everything so that when we look at it regardless of what screen, it will always pop out at you lol i mean if im wrong let me know. just wondering lol

+1 this should go to Q&A in the sucks portion
#1. the parallax barrier doesn't work unless the phone is in landscape.
#2. the 3d effect is achieved only by two separate images, from slightly different perspectives, being shown at the same time. The phone's interface does not have this, and will not ever have this at any point in your phone's lifetime.

Barrier works in portrait.
Probably no sense in 3D but im sure there some capable devs out there that could make a 3d launcher.

Sorry, you're right. It does work in landscape. Its the camera that doesn't.
Yeah, we might have some sort of a launcher that pops up that is in 3d. But I highly doubt sense will ever be ported to 3d, nor will the "whole phone" be in 3d.
lmao sorry if it was a stupid question, just a thought.
i mean, you know how some people can make an image look 3D or when you watch videos you can make them 3D.
if somehow someone could modify the script to run all the time, we could have a trippy phone.
of course, it would be a huge battery drainer but i mean, its not like we can't have SOME fun with our 3voD.

FYI, Touchwiz 4.0 is a lot better than HTC Sense 3.0. Don't believe me?

It's great to see some progress in porting sense to other devices it's a shame that it doesn't have the 3d effect when scrolling between home screens but still looking forward to some genius getting this working on our SGSII.

Thats what I thought too mate - If it can work on a darn LG it should be able to work on the SGSII!.
I got so desperate I even tryed to install the LG APK on me SGSII - lol! - needless to say it didn't work and just borked it requiring a reflash lol
Theres loads of great custom ROM's for the SGSII - Just not any with this type of bling!

I removed the proxy on my evo a while ago mainly because it broke the streaming music. I also noticed a pretty nice speed increase on top of it fixing my streaming issue.
Streaming works just fine on the 3D and 3G speeds are so so not as good as my evo with proxy removed. This could just be the radio or dumb luck. Has anyone tried removing the proxy to see if it has increased speeds any? I'm thinking about trying it but figure I would ask if anyone has given it a whirl yet.
Update:
I decided to just give it a try, called sprint, got a super cool guy gave me the MSL no ?'s asked. Was on the phone no more than a min with him, I am gonna make sure to answer the survey questions for him. I love getting cool people. Anyway just removed the proxy and ran some speed tests, didn't really make much of a difference.
I'm getting between 400-800 down & 500 up average. Like I said similar results with & without the proxy at least for me. I'm just gonna leave it removed, I can't imagine having the proxy will ever help speeds in the future. It is the middle of the day so average speeds tend to be a little slower. I have pulled 1,500+ down on my evo in the same test area at times but that wasn't an average.
If anyone else wants to try I would be curious to see if it makes any difference or not since different areas can perform very differently.

oh ok. Didn't seem to have nearly the effect as it did on the evo but like I said I left it out. Plus I only did a few tests so I'm sure it will be better in the long run. A trackball would be kinda cool actually, I'm not sure where they would put it though.

When a n"no glasses required" 3D TV gets produced that is within a reasonable price range I will be on board with it. I mean why not? Much like our phones, we can always stay with 3D if that is what we are comfortable with. I just like having options.
I say bring it on. The more 3D phones on the market, the more 3D content we get. Things are pretty sparse right now other than the youtube app, which is 96% 3D cat videos, 3% foreign 3D trailers, 1% stuff I care to watch.
Of course when Rovio releases Angry Birds 3D, nothing else is gonna matter anyway.

I was under the impression the the Thunderbolt had LTE in AOSP.....maybe not, who knows.
Also, It should help that the GNex is LTE. Given those maybe proprietary blobs (I really don't know how open Nexus code is) if its not, why wouldn't it be in relatively quickly? Yeah it's a different radio, but the interface should be similar across most of Sprints LTE devices.
EDIT: Yes, it seems the Thunderbolt does have LTE working in CM7
Edit 2: VZW's LTE has a removable SIM card for LTE Activation, I assume ours is very similar, with possibly embedded or spoofed SIM. This probably makes it at least easier to get to work because the device doesn't have to handle the authentication the the network, the network handles it.
