Does any one know if there's a way of connecting the atrix to a tv (hdmi/ monitor), and then a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. So as to get it to act as if you've bought the netbook dock?

Yes and no. I think they just didn't bother to check the specifics of compatibility.

Are two that sell the one directly made for the Flyer using the extMicroUSB that it uses. The thing I am curious about is... if it's MHL, will a normal MHL cable work? Like the one for the Sensation?
Also the phonearena review actually tested this function and it seems to work fine:

Nice thanks for the links
Apparently it can use a normal MHL cable. Here is a review of them where they use the adapter from the Samsung Infuse 4G. If you check out the video part it also shows that the flyer is capable of mirroring automatically. The output resolutions are 480p and 720p. I suggest checking it out because it's neat to see the flyer connecting to an HDTV
The fact that it can use a standard MHL adapter/cable is nice as it means options as far as pricing goes:

Here you go. Honestly it looks great and you can really appreciate the Flyer's screen on this vid as well. Also it seems there's no lag on the HDMI out from the little they show.

This is great news. I bought a flyer not sure if I was gonna keep it. But the mhl cord seeled the deal. I love it already and I don't even own the pen yet.
Since the photon 4G has webtop and HDMI mirroring can this be ported over to the atrix ?

Does the photon support landscape mirroring? If it does that's what we need ported.

Really another thread about the photon??? Did we not get the point across in the first one? Its not safe to use atrix mods on your PHONE!!! Nobody here has one. You need to find a forum about your own phone!!!

I have seen the Webtop Hack for the atrix but not the actual mirror mode for the phone itself so I can play video games and such full screen.

Unless you plan to watch movies turned 90 degrees on your TV, no, we dont have HDMI mirroring.
Ok to clear up the confusion, yes Atrix has HDMI mirroring. The only drawback to the HDMI mirroring option we have available through hacks and mods it that it doesnt support both landscape and portrait(true mirroring). It just does portrait. What the OP wants, I believe, is to port the existing HDMI Apk from the Photon to the Atrix so we can have true mirroring, or atleast to start the discussion so a dev can look into the files of the Photon to see what needs to be changed so our existing apk can finally be finished.

Yes, it seems I did. Sorry for snapping.
It probably be best to port the photon 4g mirroring to the atrix rather then create a program like HDMwIn to do it. But at this point i will do anything to get some landscape hdmi mirroring!

It won't install on my device. And there is also a .opex file as well but I can't even upload it here to share.

It would be great if there were an easy way to port landscape hdmi mirroring from another device. Will probably still take a lot of work though. oh well im patient...

I check these forums day and night to see if someone will magically post a fully working HDMI mirror hack with landscape mode. lol
Hello all!
I've decided to finally buy myself an android, and after much deliberation, the Atrix is my choice. I just would like to clarify a few things before i bite the bullet, and actually go ahead and get it
1) Since I'm in malaysia, the only way i can get my hands on one of these is to buy an imported UK version. I know that the ATT ones come with the microHDMI cable, but does the UK retail package contain one?
2) I've read about the webtop hack, but would i be correct in assuming that i can replace the webtop linux with another OS? (i.e ubuntu, etc)
3) do any of the CM7 roms support the fingerprint reader? (i think that they won't, but clarification is always good )
4) and last but not least, CM9 supports chrome right? (stupid question, i know, but just making sure)
thanks in advance to all who reply!
You can get the AT&T Atrix of eBay its not necessary that you buy the UK model. Secondly the webtop hack is not actually a hack allowing you to run another OS but its basically a mod for the webtop.
All CM7 rom support fingerprint reader. CM9 does not support fingerprint as the offical drivers for fingerprint are not out yet. Chrome would work on CM9 as Chrome requires ICS and thats what CM9 is.
Hope this helps

alright, thanks, this helps alot! i would get it off of ebay, but shipping fees are expensive, and the set i found here in malaysia comes with the standard dock as well, so i'm thinking that it's a better idea to spring for this one.

To clarify a wee bit on the webtop, there is a webtop hack, and then there is Gentop, Ubuntop, etc., which effectively give you a full linux distro on your device. (Gentop is Gentoo, and likewise Ubuntop is Ubuntu). Both are great, and you can spend many days just messing with both of those to get the setup you want. Only thing is you have to stay with a GB ROM such as Nottachtrix to use these. MIUI, CM7 and CM9 do not support webtop. When ICS comes out, there may be no work done to remove/change webtop 3.0 and replace with a linux distro, as it appears to just be a tablet mode and not a webtop as most of use would like, or think webtop should be.
Ah i see, thanks for the clarification. Does this mean that if i do install a cm7/cm9 based rom and connect it to a tv via hdmi or the dock, the picture will just be mirrored from the phone's screen?

Once you go CM, its painful to go back to stock...

My UK atrix (t mobile) came with the micro HDMI cable in the box. I'm guessing they all do but not 100% sure.

Hi! As for the HDMI cable, atrix doesn't come with the HD dock?
Mine came with HD Dock, HDMI and car adapter, apart from the standard accesories (earphones, wall charger and usb cable)

well the one i saw looks like it's in a generic motorola retail box, not in a tmobile box, and when i opened it, didnt look like it was in there. maybe the carrier version gets the cable, while retail doesnt
as for the dock, yes it was in there. car adapter i didnt see though.
Ok so I've got my deactivated Photon and I'm repurposing the device as an Android media player. I'm basically trying to make it a nexus Q/Google TV like device. Looking for suggestions on how to best achieve this. I would like to be able to control the device from my phone (Note 2) as the nexus Q allows you to modify it's music queue.
Some background: phone is unlocked, I'm using an HD dock to connect to my TV or stereo.

Buy an HDMI Cable & download an airplay server app from the market (the is one like that)
and an AIrplay Client
Hdmi out on my photon always looked terribly pixelly. I almost could not stand it but mine is locked so maybe custom roms and kernels fix that issue.

Thinking of doing this on a 32" bedroom TV. How are you all controlling it, do you just set up whatever video you want and then plunk it into the dock, or do you have a wireless keyboard/mouse?

Well that's one of the things I'm trying to figure out. If I can get it to behave like the Nexus Q then I could control it from any Android device. Unfortunately I have yet to figure out how to accomplish this.
