Can someone tell me why my live wallpapers will not display the full screen? Am I the only one with this problem?

the stock ones that came on it all work ok for me (not sure I've tried them all though)
No Problems Here
Haven't had any issues with stock or any others. Even Movie Live Wallpaper from Banana runs well, only glitches every once in awhile. Awesome live wall paper btw. Lets you play any video as your wall paper. Try the v6 super script could be a memory problem. Maybe a factory reset would fix it. Have you done a battery pull?
Im no developer .... but are you using live wallpaper that came on your phone or a different one you downloaded?? The Droid X2 has a qHD display so if you are using older live wallpaper that isn't qHD and is too small it won't cover the whole screen. most likely there will just be a white bar at the top or bottom.

Ok, really really hope that I am missing something obvious here. When ever I choose a wallpaper to set, it makes me zoom in WAY too much . Wallpapers that I used a lot on my Evo4G are now just 1/3 showing on my 3D. Is there something that I'm missing here, or what is the problem, and is there a solution? This is really the ONLY thing that is frustrating me about this awesome phone.
The new carousel feature makes it so wallpapers are static. And I dont know why most become so zoomed in.

You need to size the wallpapers to the phones resolution.

yep need qHD resolutions
I felt the same way about wallpapers on the 3D until I saw someone suggest HD Wallpapers from the market and this has been a good solution for me as far as wallpapers go. Lots of great HD pics and no cropping, you just select the pic and that's it.

Mikey B's 3D
Also noticed after a while for whatever reason, the wallpaper will zoom way in, and when you go to re crop it the size of the cropping tool is squared and no longer rectangle. A reboot fixes it and the wallpaper is zoomed back out. I suppose it could be the rom im using which Chogardjr3d.
Try wallpaper wizardrii in from the market! Great for setting pictures as wallpaper and automatically sizes it for your screen!

wallpaper set and save is a must have for any sense device. lets you set pics as wallpapers at native res with NO cropping.
Figured out today what may be causing the wallpaper to blow way up. Probably the same problem when the home screen gets stuck on 3d when you hit the back button from the camera too fast. Its the only time my wallpaper gets huge and when I go to change it the cropping feature is double the size as well. Only way to get it back to normal is open camera and back out slowly or reboot.

Thanks. Wizardrii works perfect.
its a modded version of touchwiz 4.5 with a whole bunch of tweaks the problem with it is that the page indicator is in the middle of the screen instead of at the bottom wondering if any could get this working?
heres the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883
This already works, and the page indicator is supposed to be in the middle. I used it for a while, but not being able to use custom icons got to me..
But its not aligned correctly for the bigger aspect ratio.

There is a version out there for the qHD displays. I do not remember where I came across it but someone has already done it.

Hello, I am having a little issue with my wallpapers. Any of them that have a fading effect end up with a weird thing happening to them. The wallpaper I am trying to use is a basic faded blue wallpaper but when I use it as a wallpaper it gets pixelated. It looks fine on the computer and in PhotoShop, but not the phone. This happens with all pictures like that, from my computer, Zedge, where ever.
So, is there any way to fix this pixely looking picture into what it really is? Any option I can change? I am using ThaUnknownArtist's Ice Cream Sandwich Final ROM. I know it is not the launcher, since I have tried it with Go, LP, and ADW.
Sorry I can't post the pictures, I am new on XDA and it won't let me post outside URL's. Thanks to anyone with an answer!
I think it's so because our phones screen outputs only 265K colors instead of 16M like some other phones.

No, it doesn't have to do with the screen. Just tried the same picture on another Optimus V and it looked fine. Maybe it's the ROM? I'll see what I can do. Any tips though?

In CM7 roms there is a option for surface dithering, if its unchecked then this might also cause your symtoms

there still are these GIF-like colors also when surface dithering is enabled.
It is a known issue caused by the poor screen of p500 and the lack of dithering in some roms. A workaround is to download quickpic from market and put a wallpaper through that app. Dithering problems is almost gone in quickpic
Thank you! I put the wallpaper through Quick Pic and it fixed it. Seems like it was a problem with the gallery.

Anyone know the exact dimensions the wallpaper has to be for it to retain 1080p and also use the entire wallpaper instead of making you crop the wallpaper.

This would be good, but we don't have scrolling home screens to see the whole wallpaper yet. Do we?

Try the Wallbase app. By far the best and biggest selection of HD wallpapers.

THIS. No one is answering this question. I keep seeing people talk about their 1080p walls, but no one mentions that it seems to force an annoying crop. I want full 1080x1920! If no one else answers, I'm going to see if I can figure it out when I get home tonight.

Yea I mean the stock wallpapers that come with the phone are 2160x1920 and they still require cropping if you manually set them as a wallpaper via gallery.
So yeah, 2160x1080 works. What I did was I just found a good 1920x1080 image, rotated it, doubled the width and made sure the image was centered. I put together a pack of 8 abstract wallpapers if anyone is interested.

There is an app called wallpaper wizardii it does something so you don't have to crop the image to fit the screen I used it on my galaxy tab 10.1 might be worth giving a shot on here

Adw has scrolling wallpapers, you have to activate the wallpaper scroll hack under advanced settings.
I'm gonna get this ball rolling...i want to see more pictures instead of links...

Have a razr maxx. After installing a new launcher and when I try and use the widget selector, it does not show the names of the widgets next to the icons of the widgets. this happens with all 3rd party launchers as well. Anyone else have this issue?
Yes this is common. I think it's caused by white text on white bg.
definitely no way to fix is there?

I can attest to this as well. NOVA launcher is the only launcher I've found that doesn't display the "no text for widget selector" syndrome. :good:
BTW, this ONLY occurs when on stock. If running a custom ROM, I don't see this issue (at least, I didn't see it in Eclipse, Arctic HD or Droid HD roms).
