I had an evo with the .apk and tried installing it. Constant forecloses. Anyone seen the app functioning?

I wanted the stock keyboard and someone told me about "smart keyboard" which has the android/sense/touchwiz keyboards and seems to be pretty identical to the stock one... but if you want the real stock one for whatever reason it'll need to be ported

Unzip the file and install... this is not a flashable zip. A use APP Installer from Market.
Make sure you install both .apk's HTC IME and Clicker.
ENJOY
It won't install the clicker apk. It just says application not installed. I'm not rooted it that makes a dif.

Clicker.apk may already system installed. Have you installed the HTC IME and rebooted? After that go to settings/keyboard and tick the enabler.
???? My guess.

The htc ime installed just fine. But I was looking for the stock android kb not the htc one. Also the htc ime is close to identical as the preinstalled one.

This seems to be a modified HTC touch input keyboard. It's pretty nice but definitely looking for the stock froyo keyboard.
Wasn't easy but I found it. Stock Android like on the N1. Froyo.
Install ISSUE... I can only get it to install after removing Swype and the HTC IME Multitouch Droid 2 keyboard I have installed. Maybe someone can work it out???

Just dowload Better keyboard app, and then choose skin from the market: Better Keyboard Skin-Android. .
Only thing it doesn't do is the slide up to expose numbers.
Search "cedime". It has same look as Android keyboard and it has Chinese input option.
Off the T-Mobile shelf Glacier came with Swype, weather and clock, and mobile office (powerpoint, word and excel). But I rooted and flashed CM6.
What's the best way to restore them?

Hi, you can download a stock rom containing the apks and then using adb or root explorer to overwrite the apk's within your system/apps/ directory. Did you have a backup of your stock rom?
Also I'm not sure if cm6 supports the weather and clock widgets or any other htc sense widgets. You need the sense launcher from those. You can also pull the apks from the ice glacier rom for the quickoffice and swype
What about if the apps are backed up in Titanium? Can they be restored from there?

Im sorry, I couldn't get these to install. I downloaded and tried to install. File manager runs install but gets 'app not installed' message. Tried to push but 'device not found'.
I'm a noob to installing apps. How do I push apps - new sdk for cm7? which folders? does it have to be in fastboot? Can a paid root explorer install these?

if put them in system/apps folder will it work for
(not official) CM7 Alpha. Updates Daily. rom?
Didn't work. I've given up on HTC weather widget but I'd really wanted the Quick Office cause it was an apk when I paid tmobile for my glacier.

Tried to install quick office apk, few of them forced course and others paraphrase errors, on cm7. Would try to nandroid back to stock and pull the files from there

quickoffice didn't install, as for swype you can in roll in the swype beta program which I have been in since the nexus one
edit:
sorry after numerous attempts it didnt work
For about a month now I have been looking for QuickOffice in which the "package will parse" whenever I try to install it fails and it comes up with something like this. Also, sometimes if it does install it force closes.
ANY HELP?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
i think it is sense frame work dependent, i could be wrong, i tried last month and couldnt get it to work either
I thought the same but I also tried DocumentsToGo and same thing.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
which is better
Do you think Quick office is better than documents to go?

You need to download and install an older version of market, there is 1 in this post, reply #131 Attachment
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139259) it is in a zip format which you can flash to your phone with recovery or rom manager
so you mean to say that new market doesn't work in wildfire?? than why they r providing updates automatically.
my wildfire is non rooted buddy so i m not able to flash through recovery..
do u have older market in .apk format so i can install that.
Have you tried going to menu-applications-find the market and uninstall updates?
Edit: note to self, "must read the op"
And if I'm not mistaken (which I might be) market is a system app so I don't think you can just install an apk to downgrade it, and even if you do wouldn't it just update itself again as you would still have the updater in /system/app.
Anyway here's a link to the latest v3.1.5 which should be a bit faster than 3.1.1, it works fine for me anyway.

Nope bro I,ll try 3.1.5 same connection timed out error comes with this also.
Which Rom u r using ? I m the stock froyo with s on I think that's why its not working for me.

Yeh the new market was buggy for me in the beginning, but now I'm on cm7 and very heavily tweaked, it runs like a dream.

If you don't want it to update to the new market, you can use titanium backup to freeze the market updater.apk
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Have you tried clearing the Market app's Cache and Data?
Sent from an unrooted DroidX using XDA app.
the simple way. root. detach market from updates using titanium backup. try some rom with 2.3.5 android. the new market will work
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
The new market does work on the Wildfire, you just need a lot of patience, and I mean alot of patience, as it is very, very slow. For those who don't want to wait for the new market to finally open, or not, try the link in post #2, it does work.
It only lags because stock wildfires are useless, sense is bloated and the specs of the phone aren't very good unless modified, it works perfect on cm7 overclocked.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
actually on my CM7 wildfire, overclocked 710 MHz it still runs like crap, force closing half the time and very laggy...
*edit* i can now not open the market at all: "proces com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly". I have flashed the old market from post #131 from the thread linked here before, but that changes nothing to my market sadly... Help?
The thing I found is that v3.1.3 and above works fine but below that absolutely sucked even for me, my phone only has the bare minimum running in the background at all times so always has plenty of ram but the first versions of the new style market was useless but the newer ones are working perfectly for me anyway.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
well after a lot of f-ing around, rebooting, clearing memory's suddenly the market I flashed appeared, so now I have the old style market back; thank god. Both 3.1.3 and 3.1.5 crashed for me...
I would find out the latest officially deployed Market version for your phone model (stock), and use that version. Newer versions of the Market may not work on some phones, or with custom ROMs.
As of this writing, v3.1.5 is the latest officially deployed Market version for the DroidX.

I had many problems with market and install Skype or Angry birds, but many reflashes helps
This would be very useful to me when driving so I decided to get it ...
I installed a nightly build of a ics Rom. I liked the car app... Automotive_home.apk I am now using a more stable full feature Rom which is also an ics Rom.
I want the car app. I extracted the apk and it will not install, it just says it has failed.
I searched on here for an apk from a one series phone ... That installed fine. But brings up a 'stopped working' notification upon any attempt of opening. Can any one help me ?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda premium
Is the ROM you are trying to install it into DEODEX or ODEX?
I am running virtuous shooter V 3.0.5.
I've checked by using root explorer abbr checking in system/app and no files have a .odex extension.
So I'm presuming the rom is Deodexed ?
But I'm unsure if that is a valid check method.
Your help will be appreciated. I really can't be clicking away like I used to. Not very safe or practical.
* edit. I came across this thread people are having the same problem I didn't realise it was a sense 4.0 release. It's far better than the Google car home app too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1549877
