Hey all (my first thread!)
I am having some trouble with Google Music Beta Android App. I sync-ed bunch of music to my music beta account and downloaded the Android app. (This happens if I am on WiFi, 4g, or 3g) When ever I have my phone plugged into my stereo system (the headphone jack to red white aux connection) the app will change songs if the phone is physically moved, and I don't mean just skip to the next song. It will cycle through the entire playlist/songs playing. Most of the time it will not play again till turn off all my radios or i KILL the app. Now this does NOT happen if I have in regular head phones or am playing from the on board speaker. Any audiophiles out there who know that sound from speakers that can cause disturbance in mobile data signals?
*It is not my physical connection to the stereo, If I play something from the SD card the track will play fine no mater if I am shaking the phone.
Anyone able to move their phone while plugged into an aux port?
i have the same issue. when i play music in my car, it'll go through the song fine and then hit a point where it just starts to fast forward.
i hate this.
Question: is the FF button on the right suppose to be highlighted ALL the time?
i had a feeling this was just my issue but maybe its like that.
Same issue here while using Google Music.
At first I thought it was my AUX cable, but then I played a local file and it didnt do all that crazy skipping.
It's not a glitch in music app... Download headset blocker.... The type of connection makes the phone go crazy for some reason
Headset blocker fixes it.. its n the Android market
Bussin Caps n 3D

Hi,
Before custom ROMS were built on ICS, when I was listening to streaming music in my car (via bluetooth), the phone would automatically stop playing when the car turned off. Same thing if I'm listening to music and I pull the headphones out, whatever was playing gets paused.
Now, when I turn my car off, the music doesn't stop playing, it just starts playing through the phone's speaker.
So my question is, is it the ROM that makes a player pause on disconnect or is it the actual APP that decides to either stop or keep playing through the speaker.
I know PowerAMP has options to auto play and auto stop on disconnect, but other apps like youtube, Audiostation (for my synology NAS) and a few others don't have settings.

I think the fact that some apps have the option indicates that at very least, the app does have some control over it. I don't know if the ROM/kernel have some default setting built in for apps that don't define it.
It seems to be a feature missing in ICS. I'm hoping it shows up by the final update.
I use Tasker to accomplish the same thing. The whole task for media is when I plug headphones in, it launches a menu with media apps (music, netflix, etc) and turns the media volume up to 6. When disconnected, it mutes media volume, pauses media, and returns to the homescreen.
I'll take a look at that in the interim, all I really need is it just to pause on BT disconnect like it use to. The is already a separate volume setting for BT vs the headphone jack. Thanks for the tip.
That's interesting, I didn't know tasker had something to pause media. I'll definitely give that a try.
I believe that was an AOSP tweak..my Inc running CM7 would pause on bluetooth disconnect.

Every time I get in my car and the bluetooth connects, the phone decides to automatically start playing the last song I listened to. This is REALLY annoying. Some searching has revealed that this is an ongoing problem with no known solution. Anyone have any ideas?
That's a feature, both my cars do it too. Assuming I left it on Bluetooth input when I got out of the car. This way you don't have to do anything to get the music to start playing. Not sure why you would want it off. For me, I'd hate to take my phone out of my pocket to start the music app.

I have the car dock for my phone which automatically turns bluetooth on when inserted. I really REALLY don't like that as soon as the HTC Car application (which is pretty decent) launches, it immediately starts playing music. I would much rather tell it to start playing music when I feel like it. This HAS to be annoying other people.
It actually annoys me that my car doesn't do this! I have Ford/Microsoft Sync and it used to connect to bluetooth on my phone automatically and play music/pandora but it no longer does this. I have to manually tell it to connect to my phone and switch to BT Media.
Have you tried using tasker or something to stop the music app if it detects it running while connected via bluetooth? There's probably a better solution, but worth a shot if you don't actually use it for music in your car.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone with the latest Android available. I'm trying to nail some bluetooth issues I experience while playing music through Bluetooth in my car using both Spotify and Google Play Music. Car is a 2012 Ford Territory with the latest Bluetooth update applied.
Whenever I play music it cuts out randomly usually for a second or 2 before playing again. Sometimes it automatically pauses the track as well requiring me to pull over, unlock the screen and press play again to get it going This happens at least once or twice and sometimes more per track I am playing in the car. Happens weather the phone is plugged in and charging or not. I've tried turning WiFi off and it seems to not make a difference. Tried changing the Bluetooth profile on the phone and it makes no difference.
Are there known issues with this phone? Could it be other apps running in the background causing this problem? If so what would those apps likely be? Not sure where to go from here. I've downloaded podcasts and played those through Bluetooth with the phone and they work flawlessly. It seems to be just music.
The phone is not rooted and as it is a work supplied phone rooting is not an option. What can I do to improve or fix the problem?
Yes. I have similar problems while playing music on portable bluetooth speaker. I'm using QS-i9300-KK 2.6 right now. On other Android devices is music continuous.
Anyone else having weird issues with their Bluetooth? More specifically, when you play music, the metadata adds some weird 01 or 000 digits in front of the track titles? Confirmed with PowerAmp as well as Spotify. Also having static and hiccup issues with it as well. Thought it was my head unit in my car, but it is in fact the phone since it does the same thing with other cars I've tested this in.
I've been having some issues using it with my car too.
I have a aftermarket radio, but this is the only phone that does this.
When a call comes in the music is suppose to stop. It doesn't i'm getting sounds from calls and music at the same time. I would have to manually pause the music on my phone.
Another thing is, when i turn off the car. Normally the phone will automatically pause or shut down the music app when connect is lost. Not with this phone. it just keeps playing the music after loosing connection with the host.
Hoping there is a update to fix this bug. It's not a big thing but it's starting to get annoying...
Mine works fine except the app will randomly close sometimes. Pandora never shuts off. Only gmusic and spotify does. I actually love how much faster this phone connects compared to my note 4.

I haven't notice any issues yet and I use bluetooth 3-4 hrs a day. I use iheart, Poweramp, PlayerPro.
I'll start looking for problems now
Does anyone noticed that the AI makes phone to act unexpected?
For example my bt earbuds, speaker gets connected/disconnected for no reason sometimes .. for example I go to smoke at work, bt speaker stays at workplace, coming back, connecting my phone to speaker, starting to work and suddenly after some time music just stops. I see I'm connected to a speaker in Bluetooth settings, but once I start music again, music is playing thru the phone speaker instead. And I have to reconnect to a speaker again.. and it continues like that till I reboot my phone..
If I plug in fabric earphones which comes with phone, sometimes automatically music is started, sometimes after couple minutes, sometimes never.
Call recording apps/and overall all apps are killed without a reason even excluded from all battery optimations/savers.
Also never knew that I have so many different songs after trying different music player, have anyone noticed that also?
In my case I have about 200 songs in my library, but with default music player, it seemed that I have like 20songs only.. always listening on shuffle mode.
