[Q] Stable gingerbread Rom Optimus one - Optimus One, P500, V General

hey all.
Any suggestions for a very stable ROM(Gingerbread) for the Lg Optimus one?
Cant seem to find one
(Send Me a Link)

Void Forever with franco 18.1 kernel...the most stable one.
hit thanks button if i helped you..

do you want actual gingerbread or like... mik's cm7 gingerbread?
mik's is 1000x better than any actual gingerbread Rom, here's the link to that one,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
but if you really want a REAL gingerbread Rom than i think GingerLOL is a decent one...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118685
I'm running mik's cm7 6.5.5 as you can see in my signature, and it's 1000x more stable and more efficient than any stock LG Rom, even the... modded ones.

I think u have never used any other GB rom other than miks.
I have used almost all GB roms and i feel that all of them are more or less the same.

Yes, they are all relatively the same but mik's is more stable in my opinion. With constant updates it really is a killer rom.

No point of comparing mik's rom to any other GB rom.
I too prefer mik's CM7 while my second opinion would go for void #forever. Try both, you won't regret

If you're looking for a STABLE gingebread rom with the OLD baseband the best shot will be sure mik's rom... If you have the NEW baseband GINGERLOL i guess would be the best shot...

What about the black screen bug? Or have you been lucky enough not to be affected by that? Because I was getting that ALL the time, including with different kernels.

Try OneDroid. Very stable, no black screen bug and good battery!!!

Mike 6.5. Most stable with Franco kernel
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

I'd really like to use mik's rom, but last I checked it didn't support bluetooth calling. If that means you can't use a bluetooth headset to talk on the phone, then it's a no-go for me since I need to be able to talk while driving. So does mik's rom still prevent that?

i tried void. #forever 2.3.4 by Noejn, but the data stopped working. Not sure if it was because of the rom. I did a full factory reset and now I like:
Mik's CM7 v6.6
Kernel: Franco-2.6.35.13v1GINGERBREAD38

For a more powerful ROM, mik's one is better. But it you want a practically bugless ROM, better try GingerLOL 1.5. I personally prefer GingerLOL because of the low battery drain and its stability, as it is based on the official ROM. Although I used to recommend mik's work for more performance, I actually concluded with due usage that both ROMs perform smoothly and without any lag at all.
For Kernel if ever you're going with GingerLOL, use Paolo Kernel instead of franco's one, zero bug in this one.

I would like to try Mike's rom but if data doesn't work i don't see the point of using a smartphone
I am currently on gingerlol 1.5 and am very satisfied with its performance and stability.
Do you know if there are any major differences between void#forever and ginger lol?

void is based on CM7 and gingerlol is based on official v20c... Come on, is quite the same though...
My Stable,Fast Rom is mik's CM7 v6.6 + Franco 2.6.35.13 GINGERBREAD39 + Old Baseband (Downgrade baseband cuz needed data )

SO far I tested GingerLOL and now I am testing CriccoROM 1.1
GingerLOL feels more laggy than stock official untouched ROM with froncokernel. Also got less points in benchmark test.
CriccoROM runs smooth but I have battery drain in iddle, 1-2% battery/hour from the usual 0.4-0.6% battery/hour.

I think Mike´s rom is good choice.

Is Mik's rom still unable to let you talk on your bluetooth earpiece?

[Q] What is the difference between Cobrato's MIUI and Tripnraver's MIUI??

Can someone tell me the difference in both?? Please
Im not sure, I asked the same question since cobrato's MIUI came out, it seems to me that some ppl like Trip's and other cobrato's.
maybe you can find something here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051340
they are based on the same version, but cob fixed every bug that was on trips rom, also cobs is WAYYYY faster and smoother. The ones who prefer trip's just haven't tried cobs yet lol
Yep Cobrato's is just perfect & more battery friendly for me
I think it's great....my two small issues were resolved.
Cobrato's have animation & Lockscreen Album Art
I know this might be a dead horse, but I must say without a doubt cobratos miui is better than trips. Im talking the 2.2 based one I havent tried gb version yet. Cobratos miui camcorder is very smooth with great sound and virtualy no lag, while trips is pitifull.

If you have nothing to say, then get your ass outta here.
@OP, I've tried both of them and I think both of them are just the same. I'm not sure why but there are not many differences aside of the miui version.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Last time I checked, Trip's Gingerbread MIUI has problems with randomly losing data connection. Some have reported that the latest version is unstable. It scores incredibly high in linpack (though that doesn't mean much)
I have not noticed any problems with Cobrato's Gingerbread MIUI.
Froyo MIUI was too ugly for me so I never tested either of them extensively.
My advice to everyone: Try both for a full day each, make sure you explore everything, then make your choice.
P.S why do we bother to post in this old thread.
originally Trip had the camera working(vga through illusion) but i think cobrato figured that out. but you mean the 2.2 version, then cobrato's is probably your choice.
I think "hotdogs and seaweed" was referring to the camera
Sent from my Xperia X10-TripNRaVeR using XDA Premium App
EDITED
Bah why am I posting in here again...
cobrato's gb miui has low res camera too, and tbh, i think cobrato's miui is much better,
i tested trips miui - it had problem with data transfers and sms (sms can be fixed by sms_fix made by cobrato ), and trip doesn't give any support for custom kernels so you need to use stock one (you can try to use any of them but still it's not the same way when dev is supporting them) and miui launcher is quite heavy so without custom kernel is very sluggish, i know trip is working on his camera drivers but... se 2.3.3 upgrade is on the way, i'll wait for official one than use trips rom...
i'm using cobrato's miui as my main rom for few days now - with freekernel or zkernel it's very smooth, led is fixed (you can use this fix in any gb rom), fps is uncapped, overall performance is great, just look @ second post in cobrato thread - you can choose between all available custom kernels

[Q] Best ROM for battery life?

Hey there, I've to give this awesome phone to my father, who needs one, so I can take a newer one.
The thing he cares most is battery life, so, which ROM do you suggest me to install?
So far I think I'm getting the best with openOptimus, but I'd like to hear your opinion. Maybe the new void #forever?
LOLv1.4 gives me d best battery life with a drain of only 3-4% over night for around 8-9 hrs with data off n in 2g mode..!!
I heard that the stock LG Gingerbread has wicked battery life.

It all depends on the usage. I can suggest you 4 options for the follwoing usage pattern:
Moderate number of calls, lot of texting, couple of hours of music, couple of hrs of brwosing over mobile data/1 hr of browsing over Wifi, display brightness set to 40%, all sync and background apps turned off except when internet is ON and a lot of monkeying around with the phone like changing wallpapers, ringtones, etc.
The above said tasks are what I do on an average day and the battery lasts about 30 hrs. this is a smartphone BTW
Option 1: Void forever with franco's kernel (I would recommend v17) -> looks plain dull and you need to flash a lot of apps if you need them.
Option 2: Andy's ROM with andy's kernel (with franco's kernel, I faced some battery drain, though it was not too much) -> best ROM IMHO. Very good UI, Very colorful and smooth.
Option 3: Mik's ROM with franco's kernel (again v17) -> not very visually pleasing. But almost same as Andy's performance wise.
If you are looking for a froyo ROM, I've tried only openOptimus and it has a battery life as same as the other 3.
But again, it depends on the usage

Andy's ROM was pretty stable for me at 729/480 OC. I got kernel panic at 748/480 OC but 729 is stable. I personally feel Andy's ROM as more smoother than Mik's as I'm able to use live wallpapers without feeling sluggishness anywhere in the phone, which I couldn't get in Mik's. But opinion differs. All are excellent ROMs at the end of the day

Guess he's working on a totally new ROM, not based on CM7 but on CodeAurora. Let's wait and watch.
Ive been wanting to giveAndy's GB 2.3.4-rc4.1 a try for a minute, but have not been able to find the rom section dedicated to that rom...Ive used everything from Devoid Froyo Final to Megatron V1 to Mik_os's CM7 rom, but have not tried out Andy's GB 2.3.4-rc4.1 rom, can anyone point me in that direction for his rom ?
I've been using mik's CM7. but i reverted to offcial gb because cm7 lacks the night mode feature in camera. (it helps to capture better quality pic at low light situations)

If you have the new baseband, data is not going to work on Andy's ROM.
[EDIT]: GSM also won't work, unless you flash the baseband fix from Mik.
I'm currently on 6.5.7 with zacks v3.4 kernel plus soundfx.zip/a few other scripts and battery life is great but like others have said its all in opinion and yeah openxoptimus has exceptional battery life. I'd use open if I could flash the data fix but I don't have a computer. What good is it to have openxoptimus without data.

I'd use Miks 6.5.7 plus Franco Kernel 19.4.

It's decent, that's for sure. At least on Franco's 16 august Kernel
I generally get about 40 hours of light use out of it (some phone calls, some browsing, 3G & sync on all the time, couple pics, facebook, bit of wifi, bluetooth only when in the car). I leave data on all night long, too (I noticed I sometimes get higher battery consumption with data off).
If I have 66% or more left after the first day, I don't recharge (otherwise I do recharge because I'm not sure it will last another 24h)

Which supported and stable 2.3.x mod?

I'm currently using Gingerlol 1.5.
But this is no longer developed.
Now I'm looking for an active, stable 2.3.x mod without any bugs.
It should have low battery drain and I don't care very much about gaming performance.
When I browse the dev subforum I find either outdated mods or mods
which have serious bugs (like no fm-radio, broken cam/video, blackscreen bug, battery drain, etc).
Did I overlook something or are my wishes currently just not possible?
Any recommendations?

The best rom for gaming is Blackbird RC2
mik-os rom still has a bit of lag, noticible in nfs shift, but blackbird has new kernel with no lag AT ALL

Use OpenOptimus build 2.xxx by ciaox and with it use francos GB kernels or paulos vtouch kernel.
Amazing battery life and less cpu drain.
If ur looking for something in the intermediate i suggest going for phoenix/void/mik's cm7/aosp ROMs.
CyanogenMod has many technical features that other roms lack, but I must admit that the CyanogenMod Settings menu is very useful. There are multiple kernels which make the ROM completely stable. I'd also recommend a few tweaks (I've uploaded a flashable zip as well as a fixed zip GPS fix installer (version 3.0) that should now work on any recovery). Please note that the tweaks mount /system as rw on boot.
What you want is the good old void forever + fserve kernel
With those 2 you get the battery life with good performance as well, and you only have what you need in your room without all the crap people put in their custom rooms.
Seems that oxygen 2.3.7 port is what I'm looking for.
Will give it a try!

Gingerbread rom for my work P500?

Hi there. I just got a P500 from work and noticed it still has Froyo which i can not stand (even my old Milestone has Gingerbread thanks to Kaldaban and CM 7.1).
In my country (Argentina) there is still no official 2.3 update. What 2.3.x custom rom would you recommend that offers stability and battery life? (remember, it's my work phone, i can not f*ck it up!).
Thanks!

[Q] Most Stable working Rom

Everyone's got an opinion on the "Best" rom, I just wanted to see which rom the forum thinks is the most stable with everything working.
I've tried lots of them and cant decide.

ohh you're damn right. for me, that is the best of the best. REALLY THE BEST.
@deckerm, if you want a recommendation from me, try ThGo2. There is a new version, the v13, but a bootmanager kernel needs to be fixed. but there's a stable version of the rom, just look at it, and you will look happy.
but for the majority of the people here in the forum, Wolfbreak's rom is the one.
but for me, hands down. ThGo2 rom. ^^
I like EWJet, its super fast and everything is working great!

Stock rom: Wolf, ThGo2 and ... ----- stable and can be fast with custom kernel
cm rom: FXP is ****ing fast, MIUI has greate UI.
For long term stability, Wolf is the rom. T.E.A.M. is good, too. Currently using prime, no problems except the ones I create. Any rom must settle some and although our phones are X10, they can react differently to the same rom. For your poll, Wolf will probably be on top.
I totally agree!! For me Wolf's Rom gives me best stability & fastest Gingerbread Rom I tried so far!!!
Only thing I regret is not having anything to flash no more :'(
Great Rom!!!!
Sent from my X10 using Wolf's Gingerbread UB
I like TEAM.
I started to have stability problems with Wolf's rom after 1.5 mo of use w/o flashing (stuck on start-up after reboot, stuck in airplane mode). I switched over to TEAM for the last 3 mo. and no stability problems and speed is good. Then again everyone's phone reacts differently due to settings & apps, so I say try one, and if it doesn't work, try another.
MIUI Prime for me the best rom I had before. Very stable, nice and long battery life (about 3-5 days with 2G only, synch off, brightness 40%).
Oodies CM7 for me. Great battery life and smooth running.
wolf's ROM does not really give the best battery life possible.... I'm still looking for a ROM that can give best battery life.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Probably not but I don't think that any Rom can make my battery last much longer!! My battery normally lasts about a day, while heavy usage!! I Also calibrated it.
If you want your battery to last for a long time, I'd suggest to buy a larger battery, that's just my opinion.

Totaly agree im a cyanogenmod guy because i like the twaeks and extras and overall i don´t like wolfs WLAN instability for me again and again WLAN rips of deactivate its selfs and so on... additional if you using ttorrent you can forget wolfs rom also MUIU Prime because WLOD.
Needles to say that Wolfbreak and Oodie did a ****ing great job on this rom´s but i don´t like how MUIU looks like Iphone or BADA. Because why did we buy an android device? because it has to look like ab Iphone? Well...
FXP 7.2 is very stable and if ya a gamer... well the quadrant score for me with 245- 1037 with governor Interactiv was over 1300
