Flash/Change baseband with Linux only - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi
I have the x10 mini pro
I'd like to use the new ROM but for that I need the 015 baseband not the 006.
I currently have build 2.0.A.0.504 installed and have the 2.1.1.A.6 sin files.
I dont have windows at home and the PC at work requires me to have admin rights to install the correct USB driver. So I can't use SEUS or flash tools.
I've done it before but I don't remember how I flashed the phone.
How can I flash the phone?
I have rooted that phone and have xRecovery installed and running, can I flash it with xrecovery?

if you have root just go to the *MINI ROM MANAGER* thread and get the qr code in you phone and download that(*you can also download to your pc and put the file in the sd-card and install*).
after install open and find the option to install CMW Recovery and thats it. Done
or
if you dont have root
you go to the market search for z4root(i think that's the correct name) install and now you have root
or
if the z4root dont work just download SuperOneClick(it dont need admin rights to root your device), plug the phone in the pc, them set usb debug option ON and select root on SuperOneClick
or
if you realy need the *xrec* you go to this thread* and download this thing and follow the instructions...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951274

x'D all my sentenses begins with IF/OR x'D

My phone is rooted
I have xRecover running
With "mini rom manager" I can flash the device with the standard SE sin files I have and change the baseband version?
You're saying I just need "mini rom manager" copy the sin files I have to some directory on the sdcard and this changes the kernel.
This statment is correct "CWM recovery has the functionality to change the kernel version 1.6 <-> 2.1"

I think PTGamer mixes some things up... AFAIK you can't flash new baseband via ROMmanager...
I know Linux people don't like this but the easiest way to get your problem solved would be to run a windows emulator on your linux machine.

Massive waste of time. But has now been done
I have the standard SE 2.1 firmware with the correct baseband version
Now I just backup, wipe user data, install CM7 and restore, all via CWM?

OS: Ubuntu 10.04
Device: LG P509 (P500 = CM7) - General Inquiry.
Method: .../android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/$ ./adb ....(Hopefully)
See, I have the LG Optimus P509. In Win7 I was able to flash the kdz to downgrade/upgrade my radio baseband from v10E to v20G.
ADB via Linux Terminal:
After some tinkering I finally got to the point of:
List of devices attached
(Shows Device ID) device
How would I go about getting the phone into EMERGENCY MODE, and then flash the upgraded baseband? This may/may not be required, but it's what I saw with two different methods (Win7). Wine (.exe) file doesn't see my device. ./adb device - ACTIVE
The other method tries to load, but suddenly stops. Verified population of permissions (Execute as Program) check box.
Stuck...
WOULD THERE BE A WAY TO DO ALL OF THIS FROM THE LINUX TERMINAL?

Why is this thread here???
Please everyone read this.

Okay guys.
Here is new X10flash for Firmware 2.1 Version (old 1.6 Firmware can not be flashed with this at the moment).
Windows 7/Vista Users should diasable UAC!!
Download Flasher: (Update 14.11.2010) GUI VERSION!!!
http://www-stud.uni-due.de/~sfanmakr/X10Flash/X10Flash-2.1.zip
HOWTO for Flasher here:

You will see that there is a new Folder "firmware" the firmware files must be inside this folder!
Download Firmware:
X10i:
http://www.multiupload.com/G9TENJASZI Nordic Thanks to imugur and Reb0rn
http://www.multiupload.com/RTIIRCEN79 GERMAN
http://www.multiupload.com/YM6SANFJXK CH (thanks to pippolino)
X10a:
http://www.multiupload.com/M048IDMI4L ROGERS (thanks to henh)
http://www.multiupload.com/ZGI6JWKIPG GENERIC (thanks to BluechipJ & batman112)
Put the extracted files into the new "firmware" Folder and run the X10flash.bat
SO-01:
http://www.multiupload.com/E3C7FRFAQ9 DOCOMO (thanks to indigomode)
You have to wipe your USERDATA !! This is important, otherwise you will enter Bootloops etc.
Also be sure SEUS is NOT running! (But at least it should have detected your phone once)
THIS FIRMWARE IS ONLY FOR X10 NOT FOR MINI (PRO) or X8 !
But the flashtool should be capable of flashing all Xperia Series now!
If someone decrypts the Rom you can try it

If you have more ROMS, just drop me a PN and i will add them to this post!

Are you doing that before running the flashtool? If not do so, by running seus just past the point of putting it in to flash mode, then try again.

Have you tried starting windows in safe mode? I read somewhere in here that starting Windows in Safe mode will allow you to install the drivers without any problem.

i think i kinda f***** it up by trying to install feralab v14 custom rom over cyanogen 7 without performing cleaning, backup, putting a new kernel or firmware(dont know if i even need to do it). I've searched the forums far and wide, found nothing but dead links.
flashtool doesnt recognize the device(green light is on when i hold back and connect), s1tool doesnt recognize it... i cant enter bootloader i cant basically do anything with it.. can someone please help me?

FIND IT HERE

Once you're on StockRom, use flashtool to root...
If you are on 2.1 stock rom use flashtool to install a 2.3 stock rom, once you did it unlock your bootloader and install a kernel with his wifi module... Then you're ready to install FeraLab v14 or another rom...

my phone was already rooted, do i need to root it again?
II may need some directions about unlocking bootloader and installing kernel and stuff..
and is xrecovery erased by this?
edit : Xperia X10 was updated with 3.0.1.G.0.75.
So now you are on 2.3.3...
You have to root again your phone...
Use the last version of flashtool...
And the guide by Crowds (It's in my signature "How to use Flashtool by Crowds")...
All is explained for all the stuff... Installation of Flashtool, the drivers needed, the rooting process, the unlocked bootloader process...
Once all is done, install a kernel (It's a .tft file) with flashtool (DooMKerneL, Thgo kernel, KCkernel... )
Don't forget it's wifi module (it's a zip file to copy on sdcard and install via recovery)...
Then, copy the rom you want on sd card and install it via recovery

Buy download mode do you mean flash mode? Flashmode = phone off & unplugged, then while holding the back button plug in usb to pc. Should only get green led, no screen.

First i'm so sorry if i Repost her.
Because i'm a new in here also android too
okay, just like a title thread..
I really cant Rooting my phone..
dont know why, im using Method Doomlord V4, its useless
im using Method SuperoneClick, same too <-- It was hang in a middle of process
what wrong?
my phone?
owh yeah,.. my phone is Gingerbread, its that a problem?
OK if you are on Gingerbread, you have to do it like this. But your data will be lost, so backup your data first.
Do the first step from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514
You can perform the 2nd step of the tutorial, too to root your Gingerbread rom, but i would root with flashtool. That means you do step 1 of the Tutorial and start your phone.
Then you enable usb debugging on your phone and allow non market apps. After that, you connect your phone to your PC again and start flashtool. There you klick on the open padlock and your device will be rooted automaticly. After reboot, root should be available!

OKay man thankxx..
i' will try it. and report it here..
Ok what I forot: Don't perform my first solution, if your bootloader is unlocked, otherwise your phone will not boot again!
And: If you don't want to loose your data, you can untick the box with "wipe userdata" in flashtool, so your apps should still be there after the downgrade.
On which version are you? If you are on the .69 or .62 firmware version, you must perform the Downgrade step, if you are on .58 or any other version, you can just connect to flashtool and klick the padlock to root. On older than 62/69 you don't need to downgrade!

Updating via PC Companion removes root.
You wont loose root if you follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26914104#post26914104
basically:
1. run 01-local-prop.cmd to create /data/local.prop (enable android emulator hack)
2. power off device and update your device WITHOUT FACTORY RESET
3. run 02-push-root-files.cmd to push su binary and superuser.apk
4. your device will automatically reboot
(Btw remember that the scripts only run ok if you are using the MSC connection mode for USB)
superOneClick is only for below 2.2 .. maybe that's why you failed

x10 min pro u20i - upgrade rom help

se x10 mini pro u20i
build number - 2.1.1.A.0.6
firmware - 2.1-update1
kernel - 2.6.29
Basically I'm running stock rom and want to get my phone running gingerbread.
I know how to root, to explore the root, copy and transfer files from sd card and install apps from sd card.
My goal is to get clockworkmod installed so I can install roms easily.
I have followed various tutorials and instructions both on here and other sites to install roms and I'm having no luck.
Half them tell you to use clockworkmod to install roms but it isn't compatible with android 2.1 - they are actually telling you that to update to 2.3 you need to use an app that need 2.3 to use.
I have also tried to get xrecovery working as I have seen methods to install clockworkmod using xrecovery but I have tried instaling xrecovery and experienced problems with that too. I root using super1click, then install busybox as informed and root explorer then download the zip package for xrecovery, extract it and add the files to my sd card, then transfer the 3 files, busybox, changemond and xrecovery.zip to system/bin and chmod them, using root explorer. Then reboot and press the back key when SE logo appears and enter xrecovery but then when I try to select an option and use the home key to select it it just hides the blue text off my screen instead of entering into the option selected and i have to go and install stock rom again using SE Update and start the process all over again.
Can any one help me with this either by telling me how or pointing me to tutorial that does actually work.

Just get flashtool from here
Press root-button (the padlock), it will root and install busybox
Press xrec-button (the button with the cross on it), it will install xrecovery
Go to Advanced -> Reboot -> Recovery -> Default Recovery.
Install the CWM-zipfile you found for installing with xRecovery.
(The only disadvantage with flashtool is that it still doesn't let you install CWM directly)
You should be fine after this
The other option is to extract the CWM files from the zip (they're named like the xRecovery ones), put them in the proper folders and set the proper permissions, the way you tried with xRecovery.
You need to unlock the bootloader following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17378137
Than you can flash a custom kernel using the flashtool. Custom kernels already contain CWM and you can use it to flash the new rom.

Root phone with SuperOneClick
Installed cwm recovery with cwminstaller-windows-v4-dl
Then followed this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1333234 to install CyanoCream Sandwich rom, although I had to change the zip package name from CyanoCream Sandwich (v2.0).zip to update.zip for it to install. Instructions are straight forward and well explained - you have to download a couple packages and install them as per the instructions but all in took about 20 mins from stock to custom.
Now running 2.3.7 on my old x10 mini pro

You don't need to rename the zips you flash, just choose: install zip from sdcard, and then choose zip from sd-card, it let's you browse the files and folders on the sd-card, so you don't get stuck with lots of update-zips
But good luck with your GB-phone, and glad it all worked well

preparation to install JB ROM

hello to everyone
i am new to this forum, and i have some questions about JB ROM for xperia Mini Pro SK17i
my xperia mini pro is rooted, and i also have CWM on it, only thing that i have not done is unlock bootloader, and unlocking is allowed
i want to install this JB ROM on my xperia - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032900
now my question is, what i need to do, or to be precise, what to wipe in CWM to install this, and do i need to unlock bootloader first to be able to install JB ROM ??
do i need to wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, or only data ???
i wanted to post in thread for the ROM, but since i am new here, i am not allowed to do so
so if someone is willing to help me, and give me advice what to do i will be gratefuller
i now how to flash kernels and that stuff, but this is my first tryout with custom ROM, and i don't want to mess up my phone
Very easy, but first you need to unlock your bootloader. Use this tool to unlock the bootloader, here. Link for the tool here.
Then:
Flash boot.img (in the zip)
Install Zip (Rom)
Install Gapps
Wipe data (do this first and only once and never do it again)
You can also read my FAQ for JB 4.2.2 here, for clarify some doubts you may have
P.S: Ignores the post by radwan020, he is a little confused.

Connect your fone in fastboot mode (vol up and connect)
It should begin flashing.
If u don't want to go through all that trouble, you can see the kernel flasher in my sig

thanks for response
but i have installed already flashtool, i needed it to downgrade kernel so i can root the phone, so i have drivers
now i only need to unlock bootloader, but it seems that i have some problems, i will try on my gf's lap with win 7, because on my win 8 lap i can't unlock bootloader with SE Bootloader_Unlocking_Relocking 1.6, and i have flashtool with drivers installed and also SDK manager installed
i can't get the unlock code with the program, but i got it from SE site
after manually entering IMEI and unlock code an clicking unlock bootloader nothing happens and program freezes
i need to try option over SDK and CMD, if that is not working then i will post screenshots for problems i have
Well u could try unlocking it mannually.
U know, the hard way. Then u can flash kernels

is there any way to install drivers properly on win 8 ??
because i am using them, and drivers always fail to install with flashtool 0.9.10.1, few of them only installs, others no
i tried on my gf laptop with win 7, and there drivers install with no problem, but then i have problem with unlocking bootloader with flashtool
in flashtool it says that my bootloader is unlocked, but my configuration says unlocking available, not unlocked
i did not manage to try this method on her laptop because i did not have enough time - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31376248#post31376248 - but on my laptop, since drivers are not installed properly i am unable to unlock it, when i enter command in CMD to check version of fastboot i am getting waiting for device, and nothing happens
also automated unlocker, SE bootloader unlocker 1.6, also does not work, program freezes when i click unlock bootloader
here are pictures of flashtool and my configuration
Have you installed Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher to run stable , as the OP saying? I use that tool on my w7 64bit without any problem. Have you installed the Flashtool-drivers that is inside the SE Bootloader_Unlocking_Relocking tool?

It works just fine for me with w7 64bit. Have you enabled the USB debugging? How to enable: Settings ->Development options and Selected USB Debugging.

i will try in a few days when she comes to me
Nope you can easily get it working. Just serach for disabling driver signature enforcement in win 8. Do it and then install drivers.
Also if you are on the go but get access to a pc, you can try kernel flashing tools (see sig) to flash kernels without installing any drivers
