if you are willing to make one...just lemmie know and we can setup something
( and by mma i do not mean straight ufc...i mean MMA....)(Pride...strikeforece..bellator..ufc..etc)
post here or pm me

Not being a ****, but three posts and still no takers... maybe you should let it go.

Recommendation: Start deving
Also, coming on here as a member that has just joined with <20 posts and not saying how much you will pay will keep interested parties far away. Who is to say that when they do come up with a kickass theme/ROM for you and then all you do is through a 1 dollar donation?
...lol because unlike some of you people i keep my word...and all i wanted were some screenies to see it tested out...so if i gave a 1 donation..they could not give it to me or w.e ( make you happy )...
o and fyi ive been browsing this forum for a good bit now..and just b/c ive just recently signed up and only have 20 post doest meant anything really...just sayin
( i could go post 500 stupid a** periods on people forums...would that make you happy or something??
Firstly, all you need is a theme, not a ROM.
Secondly, there are plenty of theme "kitchens" for you to be able to make your own theme for any given ROM.
Thirdly, if you still don't want to make your own theme and are really willing to pay try putting down an actual number. Keep in mind there are themes in the market (CM7 theme engine) that are $1-$4 and have thousands of downloads.
thats the thing idk how much people want thats why i said pm me and we'll talk

Help a dev in time of need!!!

Ok guys, I've seen some amazing things happen with a community similar to this one helping guys get new motors that are built for their cars when **** hits the fan which costs thousands upon thousands of dollars. I feel that this community here can do something very similar, but not that extensive, in helping one of the devs from here.
Newtoroot has run into some issues, here's his exact words:
Here's the thing guys you all know I've had family problems lately... Well that has lead to other problems... Long story short phones are disconnected right now and since I use tether for internet I'm kinda stuck, but I'm going to try to get to the library or my moms house tomorrow to upload this Rom for you... I'll still be working on the hybrid just won't be around much till we can afford to reconnect service....

The guy is seriously busting his ass in every way possible to still take care of us rezounders and I feel we need to return the favor and bust our ass' to take care of him.
We have already started a thread in the rezound section here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548660
but I want to reach out to the entire community for this effort as its not a small one to be completely honest.
Newt pm'd the details of where he's at, and since he didn't post in the thread where I asked him, I won't divulge that information publicly. I will tho, keep this thread updated with a general idea of how far we need to go in order to get Newt taken care of.
If you could please post donation amounts that'd be awesome. If not, please pm the details so I can keep a tally on it and everyone updated.
Donation link is here:

Thanks guys...I know that we can do this if we all step up and donate a little bit.
Come on guys...if each of the people that looked at this thread donated $5 each we would have been done and then some. That's less than your starbucks, pack of cigarettes, mcdonalds...

Donate some money to DoomLord to get him an SXS! Donated so far: 592 USD

I am sure most of you here know about DoomLord!
He is an experienced developer and has done great works for many previous Xperia Models! Do check his signature in the link below.
We (SXS owners) are all waiting for DoomLord to get an SXS in his hands! But unfortunately its not yet launched in his country. He couldn't wait any more for it and he just bought an 'HTC One X' today!
Link Here!
SXS is a great mobile. And with developers like DoomLord we can expect great things in the mobile. Now we just have to donate some money to him so that he can get an SXS and start development in it. What say buddies?

DoomLord is a very very talented developer, I really hope we could donate the money he need to buy his own SXS!
I also think we all should write to Sony and tell them to donate a phone for him! Just as they have done with other phones to other devs!

Yeah. I read somewhere that Sony had donated some mobiles to CyanogenMod team for development purpose. But I wonder how we can contact Sony!

I wouldn't mind donating if Doom actually will continually develop for the S. As he is more interested in the One X (Yea, I read the India thread, because I read all the threads for the S to see whats going on) I am afraid that he would develop more for the One X and leave S more or less in the dark.
So if Doom commits to developing his kernal and such for the S as well, I will be willing. But at this point in time, I am not interested in contributing in buying a phone for someone who may/may not be doing steady (read: things every once in awhile, and making full working, not rushed products) development for the phone.
I'm not saying that I don't trust you Doom, I just don't know you as a person and I'm not one for giving money into a potential hole and not get a result . So I will also wait and see where this thread goes .
Nothing personal, I know you are one of the best developers for sony/SE devices, I'm just a careful person
im sure majority of people here would be happy to donate, if everyone donated like a few dollars im sure it'd be enough
This is very well worth it. We have seen first hand he does not favorite 1 particular device. He spreads his work over all his device's. Someone needs to set up a donation system. As we need doom here with xperia S. There's only so much he can do without the device. He's time spend with kernels for past xperia's is the sort of experience we need. No doubt we will see lots of Rom makers but all roms need kernels so it makes perfect sense.

Is there a way to set up a donation system where the money is pledged but only actually taken when a goal is reached. That way we could all 'donate' but if the goal is never reached, we wouldn't actually be paying.

yes u are right... so we can have something like "pledges", where in users who are willing to donate put up pledges of the amount they are willing to donate... if the final pledges come to target amount only then everyone can start donating...
in my opinion this is a very transparent way where in everyone knows clearly what is going on...
we did this for the Xperia Play and it worked out well... u can ask the whole Xperia Play community for the development support i give...
i am very much interested in Xperia S but stupid Sony has delayed its launch here in India... i had already begun work for custom kernels, everything was nicely setup (kernel sources, patches, git repos) but this weird bootloader issue is annoying, else u guys would have had a working custom kernel 2 weeks back
BUT again i want to remind everyone that this is totally upto the community... i am not forcing anyone to donate, nor am i begging for a device i already develop for the Xperia Arc, Play and just bought the HTC One X so i am already very happy with the devices i have ...
I remember for the X10 there was a sort of pledge thread created when they were trying to crack the bootloader (or was it GB? I cant remember anymore :/)...
I don't remember how it worked out, but I remember there was quite a list compiled, it just takes some monitoring from the starter, but I think even a paypal account was created and monitored, and the transaction codes were monitored and such.
It was a pretty advanced system, because I remember the payments had to even get sent back at some point, but that turned out okay...
I suppose something like that could work, its just gotta get looked into all there needs to be is a target, and someone willing to monitor a thread and/or the paypal account in case the target isnt met. If the target isn't met, it's simply a matter of reversing all the funds.
The paypal account could also be repurposed into other goals (ie: Further developments, etc etc..)

Have seen this done before. But we have to hope that all xperia S owners are truthful and we Have no bad pledges that don't get paid up. What would be nice is a sticky thread name and shame list. Come on people lets show are support.

the thing is here, in India, the Reserve bank has some strange laws because of which ppl cant send money using paypal outside of India... so in case the whole community shows interest i can talk to a few of my friends who stay in UK/USA to see how we can work this out so that incase the funds have to be reversed there wont be an issue...

Bizarre to have such a rule, PayPal isn't fully cooperative and Sony won't lend you a device, thats just....annoying :/
Well let's see where the thread goes this week, and if the support is there, than it won't hurt to give it a try. No doubt we will find a use for the PayPal account after you get the phone, and even for later devices, a general -Xperia Development- account would come in handy.
Let just put down the amount we wish to donate and when it reaches the target, we proceed to donate the $ to him.

Martian Imperium is back...sorta

I am now personally hosting the site but may have lost the original domain name. All Imperium services and ROMUpdater servers are now gone and the new site is very limited. I now no longer personally host any files and have found a third party service that pays me per download. The following projects are now dead:
WebTop enable devices TabletDock
WebTop enable devices CarPC
Remote Access ROM Development Service
Anything Galaxy Tab
Anything GS2
Anything G2X
Anything not Photon related
The Martian Imperium site is now closed and in the process of being purged. In all likelihood there will be no new website and unless somebody here has a copy, all the files will disappear as well. iPage was the cheapest host I could find for the bandwidth users were pulling (500GB-1TB a month and over 1000 DL's a day). In addition to my own work, I was hosting all the SBF's, some high demand older ROMs and kernels, root-unlock-relock and other Photon related files.
I looked at alternate places to host but Mediafire would cost almost ten times as much and dropbox almost three times as much just to host files. I even covered the site in ads to help cover expenses with no real success. The core factor was that my wife and I went over the receipts yesterday and I have spent something like $1000USD this year in equipment and hosting. If I had received a $0.01 donation (after paypal takes it's cut) for every unique download I actually would have made money and been able to continue development. There were many things I had planned to release this year but as it stands I am leaving development and guide writing.
To those that have donated to me in the past I'm very sorry about this and will return your donations if you would like.
Thank you for the explanation, and all you've done. The sad fact is most don't send donations. Over the years that I've been on xda, I've only done it a half dozen times. I'm sure I should have done it more. I know development won't get you rich, but it shouldn't cost you. Thanks again for all you've done. Webtop and imperium are the ****!
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
What started all this was a "We need to have a talk" email from my host. They had been very forgiving about the bandwidth usage but had enough and it was upgrade to business class service or leave. Meanwhile this is what I was working....
Remote Access Development Services. It's only a proof of concept at this stage but it's free to any dev that wants it.
I actually might be able to help you out if you think you can keep it below a TB a month.
Let me know and Ill go back and check my usage to see how much bandwidth I have left over. I think I get 2 TB a month and I dont believe Im quite using one.
I can help you out in the hosting department. My hosting is unlimited space and unlimited bandwidth per month. I use IX web hosting. If you would like, I'll throw your files up on my site so that anyone that needs them and get them... I can upload them and you can hotlink to them...
Let me know... I'm not able to donate $$$ (due to the fact that i don't have much myself) but I can donate space and bandwidth. The Photon 4G needs good developers, and I'd hate to see you go...

Just trying to help out...
But, you might want to check out there policies. There unlimited is truly unlimited... according to their TOS. That's why I went with them. Currently I have 5.91GB of used space and 518GB of bandwidth used this month... about average for me...
That's some BS right there. I've never used any of your work, but I've seen you around. (I have an Electrify, I can't use a lot of Photon stuff. Plus it's locked... 2.3.5.)
Seems like there should be a way, in this day and age, to croudsource the files somehow. Multiple dropboxes/sugar syncs/box.nets, or a torrent with a bunch of us hosting all the files. In fact if you can get just a few people with fast Internet at home to leave their BitTorrent client running, seeding your torrent, people could get that just as fast as they could from direct download. Linux uses BitTorrent, couldn't you do something like that? Hell, I only have 1.5MBit DSL, which lets me upload about 30kB/s before web browsing starts to lag, but I'd help seed. I don't have a Photon, but Electrify development kind of depends on Photon development.
Best of luck to you.
To All,
I appreciate the offers for file hosting but as the number of projects increase so would the bandwidth. The main source for the, to be honest, leeching is from locations outside xda. For example, China is responsible for a very large portion of it and have found hotlinking of my files in a couple of sites.
I was able to sell of some things today and have buyers lined up for others. I may be able to continue but at a much slower rate and will have to kill a number of pending projects.
I have found a possible solution but have had to kill a number of services. It also involves a very limited access website and file hosting has been moved to a service suggest to me by one of my users in Russia. I don't know how well this will work out as I will have to remove the update service from all future releases.
Please try the new site and let me know if it works. For now it's just a copy of the old site with a bunch of broken stuff. Unlike the old site, live site updates are now impossible and can only handle a limited number of connections.

You can say it's BS but there were a lot of things on the site the most free services do not allow. In addition to the site itself it had live support chat, a forum, an update server (think ROM Manager) as well as the entire Photon file archive and my own projects.
Multiple file hosting accounts makes file management a job unto itself. Torrents have been tried before with very little success.
Like I mentioned above, I have found a possible solution that may or may not work out but have had to kill a number of services.
I will be more than happy to do something as simple as setting you up a ftp server. You would have full access to your personal "ftp folder" on my hosting server... If interested, PM me and ill set it up...

Frankly, I think it's unnecessary for you to even consider making the offer, but not surprising given the nature of your efforts to help and support this community.
Let's just say that this is taking the concept of giving back to others a little too far.
I start my new job this Monday and once my money flows, I'll start donating to those who deserve it, i feel bad but yea glad to see your still around.
i have most of the same files (old ones at least) hosted on holylivingfuck.com in my sig, i do however have a new host (seperate from hlf) which ill be uploaidng all my copies onto as well. if you could be so kind as to update the guide with the links ill be sending you that would be awesome

Try actually reading next time. Someone asked Eschelon if he was getting a Note 2. He responded with "no" but non-nonchalantly stated he'd be happy to dev if he ever got his hands on one, but he didn't anticipate it. That's it. He didn't make any false promises or even solicit this thread (I doubt if he even knows it exists).
And another thing: Why do you and your buddy Adrynalyne (who always seems to be sparring with some other dev team on a daily basis) always go after the Synergy guys? There's also a Beans donation thread here in the Note 2 section. Did you make a similar comment in that thread too? And Beans actually encouraged a donation thread, Eschelon didn't.
And yet here you are. Hypocrite.
Just because you've contributed to this community in the past does not give you authority to troll threads of devs you don't like while simultaneously giving others a pass.

Excuse me? You are totally off base and utterly clueless on all of this.
I've never made a negative comment against synergy nor Eschelon, I don't even know who synergy nor Eschelon are. I am not a rom dev, nor rom user. I don't follow the rom scene dramas. My comments were for the person that started the thread, and still stand. It was not a troll thread.
Adryanline is just another developer, we have had many words before. We have not, and doubtfully ever would team up on anything. I do hold him in great respect because if his honesty and abilities.
I'm a hypocrite for what, I called out three threads for the same issue. I have never supported donation before work done. So you not know what the definition of hypocrite is?
Hell I've bought other devs phones with donations from my work.
People like you burning bridges are why some promising devices don't get support from many very capable developers.
I'm going to bring up the donation before producing a product issue in the ERD forum. Thanks for providing the push to do so

You don't even know me, so don't arrogate to yourself this self-insisted authority to tell me what I know and what I don't. I've seen you on this very forum go directly after Virus and Ziggy in the past (Synergy guys), and now here you are again, and yet you completely ignored the Beans bounty thread. I'm not clueless at all, I've been watching you - a very public person in the Android world - for some time now. Your past actions speak louder than your current words.

All I can say is wow. My only reason for creating this was for a great developer to get a chance to work on the note 2. If I had realized it would cause this much animosity I would have never started this thread.
I apologize, and I'll do what I can on my own to get him the note 2 . I have no idea how he finds time between his work and his family life to devote time to develope, but the selfish me is glad he does. I just want to reward him for his hard work and dedication.
It may take me a month or 2 , but I'll get that phone in his hands.

Yea, ok buddy... (rolls eyes)
But you advising people to NOT get a device into a dev's hands helps promising devices get more dev support?

Seriously, you are lost and comments about bean don't even make sense, hr was the first I commented join regards to this.
I dont know Virus nor of his work, but Ziggy I and I had words, nothing to do with anything but his policy on ignoring the GPL. I do believe his work wasn't even allowed here for a while because of that.
How the heck am I suppose to track what groups a random Dev is working with at any given time.

8. Donations.
We appreciate all donations to xda-developers.com, it keeps our forum online and well maintained. As a user you're allowed to ask for donations in your signature as a thank you for your hard work. However donations up front are not allowed, this forum is about sharing, not about getting paid to do something, that's what your job is for.

Dude, I might not always agree with jcase, but he's always been consistent. He did say something in the bean thread...

This is no way to run a contribution thread to buy a device for a developer - plus you have to have permission from the developer to even start a donation thread.
