Today I was messing around with eugene's froyo and I was in the home screen and saw a pop up saying screen shot captured and saved to sd... I can't seem to reproduce it.... Anyone know?

This is interesting. I've seen that it's installed, but never figured out how to get it to work. Funny you got it to go of by accident. Someone's gotta know
Hold the back button then press the menu key. You should have a new folder with screenshots made which you can access through Gallery.

Same thing happpened to me today but I can't duplicate it. I'm on sombionix obsidian.
An amswer would be apprrciated.
Just realized this froyo does not have the option to mount/unmount the INTERNAL memory like eclair did. I used that a lot to get the gallery to show pictures that were missing.
Where is that function?
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.
If that was in reference to me, it used to be in SD & Internal Memory under menu options. Not sure why that was removed... it helped me a lot when images did not show in my gallery.
There is an app for that, I dont recall it off the top of my head, I think its called Media Scanner or something like that. Basically it forces a media rescan without having to unmount/mount.
Can we stay on topic people?
that WAS on topic. I'm trying various methods but if I can't mount/unmount they will not show in my gallery, jesus.
Accidentally did this today also...definitely involves the back key, but I can't seem to duplicate it again.

Damn I wish I could figure this out..
Is this a general Froyo feature or are you guys running custom roms?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I really think it's in the froyo. sometimes when i click on the running services there is this one that says screen capture but i don't have any applications like that.
oh wow, never knew about this!
Screen capture available by holding back button, wait for the 2nd vibration and press home. I read it in another forum. Does not work for me in Obsidian V3, probably removed by dev.
Can OP try this and report. Also what is your ROM?

It is def on Axura ROM
That's how I fixed my external SD issues after flashing it.
The media scanner app is called ReScan Media and the dev is registered here.
I also see Scan Media app on the market as well, different dev.

btw i had to uninstall, I was playing with the setting and when I hit the stream music button I couldn't find any of my local music on my card. Stock app did just fine.
I know, we can't use that option but it was a "don't touch that button" scenario and we all know it had to be touched.
I personally don't care for it until we get full functionality for it. I see some great options in it but I couldn't find the equalizer presets like the stock one has. (normal, pop, ext...)
This works really really great, thanks
Not for me...
I get force closes when I try to push this down on Bionix 1.2.
Could be doing something wrong - I renamed my MusicPlayer.apk to MusicPlayer.ap1 and put the new app in /system/app using ADB. I'm not new to the process, but this one is throwing me for a loop.
I just clicked it and installed it and have 2 music players now.
My stock and this.
I have flagship.
Its because the stock music for flagship is not stock but a miui music player

Interestingly, it wants to replace my system media player. May be time for a full wipe of the Bionix -v 1.2 ROM. I've had this one installed for a couple days (not quite a week) anyway. I usually can't go 2 weeks without flashing.

I have Bionix V and when I installed this music player I have both the stock mp and this...
Only issue I have with this is that shuffle all does not work, and the song title thing on the notification bar...

You could freeze the stock music player via titanium backup(paid) if you don't want to completely nix it.
I'm having all the same issues you guys are having and also a force close when I went into sd and deleted some mp3 files. Other than that it works well, thanks.
Well i had to go back to the stock music player.. for some reason when i would do other tasks or when my phone screen would turn off or on the music would get choppy and skip for a second or two.. Im sure there will be a better port soon...

Since I first got my vibrant in november, ive been flashing custom roms all the time, Normally preferring the team whiskey ones. I was on 1.21 for longest till last week when i decided to try trigger. mms history and everything restored fine, wifi hotspot settings, sound settings, etc. All good.
i tried BiWinning, and none of that would come back if I restored. Ok, maybe it just treats it differently, oh well.
I had too many issues with biwinning so I went to try bionix 1.32 and this is doing the same thing. I restore wifi spots, none coming up. MMS history still blank.
Sound settings, all default. Also noticed it wasnt even changing my wallpaper which it usually did..
any ideas?
I've always read not to restore system apps/settings after flashing a new rom cuz it can screw stuff up. I always just use titanium to restore my market apps.
What issues were you having with Bi-winning? I've been on it two weeks and have had none.
As stated you should only use TB to restore apps and NOT system data as some ROMS and firmwares may not play nicely. Likely what you are experiencing. Things like sms/mms can be restored using third party apps and such. All other settings sound, wifi, and wallpaper will have to be restored manually. Unless a simple search can result in a similar resolution. Good luck!
What I had read was not to restore actual appear but data ok. Like titanium says it'll do the system settings, wiring, bluetooth pairings and web favorites. And it has fine over axura, liking and numerous bionix. I did trigger last week, again alls fine. I go to try biwinning, none of my stuff popped up.
Probably I had were contacts randomly disappearing, and leaving only sim card contacts. Random in ability to go to landscape, not a setting, I checked. Then just decided to wipe all the mms I did in 2 days. All that doesn't bode well.
I tried bionix 1.32 and I had the same contacts error but mms couldn't start issue as well, probably from the restore. So rights now im on a clean trigger 301 , no restoring besides market apps.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You should not restore system apps, they are the cause of most issues.
If you go from 2.2 > 2.2.1 things are different. 2.2 > 2.2 and green system apps would likely be okay and work.
Best practice, like others said, don't do it.
LMAO, seriously dude just don't do the settings. I understand your situation tho.
Example: I LOVE having unprotected sex! but i know one of these skeezys' ain't gonna be tellin the WHOLE truth and next thing i know BOOM! WTF is this rash!!!LOL
- Do it just to be safe(both wrappin it up and not restoring settings in TB)
I admit my example might not be a great one, but I think it displays the point just fine. Restoring everything with TB data, apps, settings..... should be fine if ur married to whatever ROM/kernel setup ur using or in ur case coincidentally flashing ROMs of similar firmware. Axura, Bionix, Trigger they are all 2.2 firmware i believe. But then you throw in Bi-winning a 2.2.1 ROM and uh oh!
Nod, thanks. I got me.a prescription of penicillin and learned my lesson. Didn't think about the 2.2 to 2.2.1 since I hadn't changed in a bit. So on that note, worth giving biwinning another shot or stick to trigger?

Soooo I started using WidgetLocker again yesterday along with ADW EX for an ICS-ish theme. Well today I started having some issues with WidgetLocker not allowing me to answer or even see a phone call when my phone was locked. Well to take things further; just an hour ago, when I woke up, when I unlocked my phone my screen was blank and unresponsive. All I had was the notification bar at the top, but it is unusable, and my wallpaper showing. So I rebooted my phone and then disabled WidgetLocker. Well now I'm stuck with just the wallpaper and notification bar on the screen. Nothing works accept the power button and I can't reboot or anything without pulling the battery. I never froze the Sense Launcher or HTC Lockscreen. So... WTF do I do other than wipe my phone and re-install everything??? :'(
I think you have some other problem and it is not widget locker.

eh? had to edit my post. my screen isn't actually blank, or off, there just isn't a home screen or lock screen, and none of the buttons work accept the power one.
Are you rooted and unlocked? If so make a nand backup and try wiping. This will allow you to troubleshoot. Report back and we can go from there
I'm rooted on inef 1.4 , I did that and it didn't work. WidgetLocker kinda pisses me off that it can mess stuff up that badly now. Do any rezound users have problems with it? I went though the settings trying to find the culprit but couldn't. Then once I disabled the app everything just broke.
I ended up wiping and staring from scratch. Not using that app again.
I wanted aosp ICS looking stuff but I'm too lazy to desense and theme apps now. I miss MIUI lol. soo easy to change everything from system apks to icons. Makes want to buy a nexus and put up with all the missed opportunities on the phone just to have aosp lol.

If you do go back to using it again, set up HomeHelper if you haven't done so. Also, unsure of the package names, but you can uninstall using ADB. Having this happen once before, I had to ADB shell into the phone and remove ADW. It's a rare occurrence but does happen.

LOL, I don't think so.
I used it forever in my DroidX & it worked fine. All I did was install it in my Rezound & I immediately lost the ability to answer the phone, how is that "user error" ??
boot your phone up without the sim, it should take you to the home screen. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and make sure cdma+lte auto is selected. Power down and re insert sim, and boot back up.

completely remove widgetlocker and see if it still happens.
I did completely remove it. That's when my phone was totally unusable. Before I did that I could reboot to get it to unlock at least. Idk what the app did or altered to mess up that bad. I'm glad I was rooted and could fix it.
My fix I mean wipe and reflash the rom

True. What's bad is that there is actually a market for a really good one. Money to be had there...
I have had troubles with this app as well. actually it worked kind of alright when it was installed (but it glitched/didnt work occasionally so i got rid of it) but when i uninstalled it somehow the widgetlocker lockscreen still comes up before my current lockscreen (GOlocker). i dont see how this is possible, any ideas? also it usually does this after booting the phone, after its on it pretty much never shows up. maybe reinstall it and wipe the app data with Ti backup, then uninstall?? not sure what to do here

Use FasterGPS to change the gps.conf back to the US. It is fairly straightforward to use, just give it root privileges then:
1. Under continent select North America
2. Once you select continent the Region box will become selectable, you need to choose United States.
It will show a toast message that says the GPS.conf was written successfully, then you just need to load Maps up and it should lock on quickly without losing the signal.
If that doesn't work just post back and I will give you something else to try because AFAIK the Super, Mega, and whatever the hell wipes aren't recommended for this phone and if I am remembering correctly they caused soft bricking on our phones that was a ***** to fix. While this wipes have most likely been fixed I wouldn't bother with them, if you want to do a wipe because what I told you to do doesn't work then you just need to boot into TWRP, click wipe, click the box on the right side (I think its format data or something but I can't remember off the top of my head), type yes, click go and then reflash whatever you want. At least try FasterGPS first, that works most of the time on International Roms.

With this fix you don't have to push anything at all, just boot into recovery and flash it like you would a ROM. Don't bother wiping anything with this fix, just flash it.
http://db.tt/9E3aMJxS
Also pushing files isn't that bad when you use something like Root Explorer, all you have to do is copy and paste it to wherever it needs to be. If you have to fix the permissions after pushing it you just have to long press and change them, it will load a little box with all the permissions and all you have to do is check the ones needed.

What the hell? There was a report of that in the thread in General but I figured it was bogus because the person would never ever reply and every single ROM I have tried it on, TW included, it either fixed or did nothing.
When you restore your nandroid does your GPS go back to the normal non working state?
Something else you could try, that i just thought of when replying to someone in the VRB thread, is making a nandroid of a TW ROM, that you got a strong GPS lock for at least 5 minutes, on your internal SD and then try either reflashing Moon or restoring a nandroid of it. I would probably just reflash it to have a clean slate but I would also understand if you didn't want to have to go through setting it up again.
That probably won't work but I know on my S3 I had to have a working backup on my internal or else GPS refused to work at all, on my Note 2 I have to reflash the fix I linked above if I forget and wipe my nandroid before establishing a lock.
Also are you trying to get a GPS lock with or without the Wireless network setting on? I know on AOSP having the WiFi and Mobile network location setting checked in addition to the regular GPS location it would refuse to even turn the GPS on. You had to have the wireless location setting off before you could get your GPS to work, while this isn't AOSP it could be a shared bug and is worth testing out.

I have not seen anything like that for the Note II yet.

It was released right after the phone came out. I want to say it was released in the N7105 forums, it could have been AT&T though, and there were some serious issues it was causing in all the Note 2's. It was supposed to have been worked on but I haven't heard anything since then and honestly wouldn't use it after all the corruption issues that arose from it.

That is the way i have always done it, on CleanROM ACE 4.9, Vanilla Rootbox, and all the other miscellaneous TW and AOSP ROMs I've used it on. It is made for AOSP but didn't hurt any of the TW ROMs I've rested it on.
If it completely got rid of your GPS when you tested it before though it may just not be a good idea to use it on Moon.
When you're testing GPS do you always have the WiFi and Mobile Network Location seeing under Location Settings checked? I know on AOSP for a while you couldn't use that setting at all and then on some TW ROMs you had to use it to get your first lock and after that you could get away with not having it enabled.
I would just flash Moon ROM and see if you can get a lock. Try it after creating a nandroid of a TW ROM that has working GPS on your internal storage, on my S3 the only way I could get a lock on any ROM was to keep a nandroid with working GPS on my internal SD card.
