Amazon Appstore minor problem

I downloaded an app from Amazon's appstore and decided I didn't want it - so I uninstalled it
Now I receive notifications several times a day telling me that there is an update - which I don't want. I don't know how to stop it.. it's getting to be a nuisance.
Does anyone know how to eliminate an unwanted app from "my apps" (without calling Customer Service)?

I've been wondering the same thing... they have instructions for it, but they don't work because they refer to a checkbox that doesn't exist.
To remove an application from the "Apps to Install" list without installing/updating it:
Select the application you want to remove
Check the box "Don't include this in the new apps list"
You can always come back and uncheck this box if you want the app to show up again later
I finally found that I can uninstall them from the Nook Color tools. I was getting frustrated until I found that. Now I am annoyed that the Swift Keyboard app doesn't work.
We're not talking about uninstalling the apps purchased through Amazon, we're talking about not seeing them in the Amazon App itself anymore so that we don't keep getting notifications for updates.
on your SD card, look for the folder Android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache . This is where amazon stores the .apk files that it has downloaded but not yet installed. Delete them from here and you should stop seeing notifications on them, as the notification bit seems to just list .apks that are in there yet not installed. You could also move them from there to another directory and give them their proper name so that you don't have to download them again in the future if you do decide to put them back on.

Is it possible to run two instances of the same app?

I've been using a GTD app to keep track of things. My business partner will be joining me soon with an android device. I'm wondering if it is possible to run two instances of this GTD app so that I can have one for personal and one for business. The business one would be so that he can also run the app and we can sync our schedules.
Thanks,
PEZ
for schedule, you can make another one Gmail account for it. Both phone sign in with this account will receive the same schedule
Accidentally sent from my Google Nexus S using XDA Premium
Yeah but I don't want to use google and I want to run two instances of my GTD APP
As far as I know its impossible because every app has its own name its known by to the system, eg testapp.com, so what happens is when you click an app to try running a second copy it naturally just resumes it instead because your asking it to run an app you already paused.

It would be possible if you were to decompile the .apk , edit the manifest file to rename the app to something else so the system thinks its a different apk, then compile, sign it, and install to phone, hassle free.
Not too hard

In case anyone is still looking for a solution: there an app in the Google Play Store called "App Cloner" that works really well for my purposes.

[Q] Disabling everything but music

Hello!
I have this horribly cheap china android phone (it's supposed to be a GalaxyS4 mini - replica, but it looks nothing like it) and I bought it for one single purpose: To have it stolen in case of need. Yeah. At nights when the city over here becomes very very insecure, I keep my main phone hidden, while I bring out my chinaphone to listen to music and to connect to facebook chat (the stand alone app) by connecting to the "Portable wifi hotspot" I activate in my main cellphone.
The thing is, the chinaphone its a piece of crap (it has 256 MB of RAM under android 4.1.2) and while it works fine after it has been rebooted, it tends to go slower and slower, to a point where it does absolutely nothing. I managed to somehow root it (it was a pain, since the rooting tools were in chinese and so is the root app) and I have installed a couple things to "enhance it" which is basically removing the bloatware they put in to make it look like a galaxy s4, live wallpapers and whatnot. And I installed another launcher, Nemus launcher, which is supposed to be one of the most lightweight.
So anyway. I was wondering what "apps" can I safely delete or disable to have a bare-bones device that can connect via wifi, open facebook messenger and play music. Maybe instead of asking what can I delete, I should ask: What should I keep?
Well, I assume you will be using Titanium Backup to remove the applications? Do you have a list you can provide here of the apps that you have?
By the way, while sad that I think it is you have a "in case of robbery phone," I also think that that is an awesome idea ha. Where I live it's not necessary, but i'll keep this idea in mind in case I have to move.
Thank you. Yeah. I have to think ahead of eventualities. I have been robbed before and I sure dont want to lose my current phone, that's why I invested in this piece of hardware that "looks" like it could be my phone, while it's waaaay cheaper.
Anyway. As for apps, here's the list that android reports under apps->all
Acount and sync settings
Advanced task manager pro (i use it to kill everything in emergencies when it all goes crazy slow)
Android Keyboard
Android System
Atrium (im getting rid of this one, I dont really use it)
Bluetooth share (should I delete this one? the bluetooth in this thing is so slow that it's like not having it at all)

VoiceCycle
VolidationTools (i thought it was "validation" but no, "Volidation")
Im using swiftkey as I love that thing and the whole "Flow input" is great for this phone, considering it is not multitouch, It's "single touch" and if I try to type with the thumbs as in my real phone, it ends all garbled because I type rather fast, and i press keys at the same time; this translated in a single touch device, when I press by accident two keys at the same time, it finds the middle point between my fingers and uses the letter in there, which is really annoying. And typing slow is... well, frustrating for me. With the flow thing, i just swipe and the words come out nicely thanks to the prediction. Problem is, that it also seems to slow down the system to a crawl very very quickly
Any other keyboard that has this function so I can try it?
Does anyone has any experience with Lightning launcher? It claims to be ultra fast, but Im not sure that means it's lightweight with the resources.
You only use this phone for music right? I would remove the launchers and swiftkey, if so.
Or do you use it for more?

[Q] How to Delete Instant Mix from Google Music App?

Have any of you ever clicked on the "I'm Feeling Lucky Mix" button which creates a mix based on your music taste?
this is a great and excellent feature to have. I've clicked on it multiple times, and now I have multiple instant mixes.
but how do you delete an instant mix? I have these instant mix playlists now, and I don't want them anymore.
I thought I had deleted them somehow previously (don't ask, I can't remember), and what's even stranger is that when I click on "Listen Now" 'All Music', I see all my music there, however, I also see Instant Mixes, I don't want them in there anymore.
When I go to http://music.google.com and login, and click on "Instant Mixes", THERE ARE NONE ! When I click on "Listen Now", there are none in there also!, this is how it should be on my cellphone/tablet as well.
Yet on my tablet, when I view All Music by clicking "Listen Now", I see them in there.
clicking on the 3 dot menu doesn't get rid of them because there is no remove option, no delete option either.
can anyone help?
The Listen Now section is populated automatically based on a few different factors (listening history, recently purchased music, etc...). If you are talking about the old "Instant Mix" feature it should have saved to your Playlists. If you're talking about the new "I'm Feeling Lucky Radio" feature, it shouldn't save anywhere.
Are these instant mixes still showing up under Playlist on your phone/tablet?
@slickromeo There are two types of instant mixes, user-generated ones (which you can delete) and auto-generated ones (which always appear). I was annoyed by them when they were first introduced, so I wrote a chrome extension[1] to give the user control over what they see. I just finished porting it to firefox[2] as well. That will help take care of them when using the web player at least. No joy for people using the app, though.

Love this phone but this dialer is horrible. Any suggestions on a fix

I have to make phone calls all day long. To make a call I always pull up the dialer and dial people using T9. When I get to the contact I want it does not give all the contacts phone numbers and it just decides which number to call and it usually is not choose the number I want to dial. Anyone know how to over come this horrible flawed software
Stock patched Google Dialer v15. Search for it here on XDA. Also install Google Contacts app from Play Store. After that you can disable LG's phone dialer and contacts by disabling "Contacts.apk" using LG package manager (paid) or using PC and ADB shell.
I'm surprised anyone uses a stock dialer. I'm accustomed to using, e.g. TrueCaller. There are many replacement dialers that add more features.

Why surprised? I don't use the phone for work or business, and only call the same few friends and family members, so stock dialer is fine.
I'm using an older version of the Google Phone dialer app, which was the last one that I could get to install without any compatibility issues and all features working. It was noted in a thread in this forum, I think, or it was linked from that rather popular article about turning your V30 into a Pixel. No visual voicemail tab unfortunately but place search works (which I used a lot).

Is your phone rooted? I installed LG Package Disabler on my stock V30. After installing Google Dialer and making it default, I tried to disable Contacts. apk with package disabler. There is no save button in the menu. When I exited the app, and reopened it, the check marks were gone and Contacts was not disabled. What simple step am I missing? Does your phone have to be rooted?
