So I was originally on wolfs 7.1 with stock kernal when my problem started. The battery is constantly sitting around 50 - 52 degrees, I lose around 1% every 2 minutes until empty, if I have it on the charger while I'm using it, it actually discharges faster than the charger can charge it right till empty. Also even though I can leave it on charge overnight I never get more than half a charge. I have tried a seus repair thinking it may have been a kernal or rom issue, and now I'm on free x10 with zkernal no change on Any rom I try. I have also tried wiping the battery stats and cycling the battery. Which makes it hard since I can never reach a full charge.
I'm thinking my battery is pooched. Any thoughts?

I think to be sure about it you should flash the stock 2.1 rom and try it out.
You could also try this steps to optimize your battery and post results!!

I just flashed KaosFroyo v34 a couple days ago. Coming from stock 2.1, I have noticed that the battery life on my eris is nothing like what it used to be. My battery runs out VERY quickly. I have heard that KaosFroyo has great battery life so am I doing something wrong? Any suggestionson how to get better battery life?
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section I wasn't sure where to post it.
Look a few threads down for the thread saying for those having issues with battery life.

Did you recalibrate your battery? This is an important step, to do this charge your battery to a full charge (turn your phone off and charge at least 1 hour after the led turns green) boot into recovery, wipe bat stats, unplug your phone and run until it turns itself off, try to reboot, if you can reboot run until the phone dies and repeat until the phone will not boot, connect charger and fully charge, let drain again and you should be calibrated.

I would try the recalibration as mentioned before...or if you want to try something quicker, you could run v32 and see if that makes a difference for you.

holy crap thats a lot of work to calibrate for me since my phones calibration is off aswell but not by that far, with a full charge im able to run music for about 8-12 hours or so, so i think im good. Only reason i think my calibration is off is that even when my phone shows green the charge says only 87% and i can still let it continue to 100% the phone is not stopping that. But would it be a good idea for me to re-calibrate the battery?

Also be careful of battery/ cpu hogging apps and widgets. Flashing the cfs over the bfs included in v34 helps too

For the past four or five days my Thunderbolt has been charging at an incredibly slow pace. For example, I've had the phone on the charger for 13 hours now and i've gone from 40% to 91%. I have the extended battery, but it usually only takes about 3-4 hours to charge from zero to 100%.
I recently put the new gingeritis ROM on the phone. It charged fine the first couple times after that but then I started having this problem. Is it the ROM, the battery, or the phone?
Has anyone else had this issue?

I would say search but......
It's known. Reboot while on the charger.
das BAMF sense 3.0 rocking the bolt
Tried multiple reboots on charger. I did a bunch of searches but didn't find anything Thunderbolt specific and non concrete answers on what causes this.

I have been told it is to do with the kernal. Was told to charge full and while still on the charger go in the toolkit and refresh battery stats and then reboot. I just did it this morning so I have no idea if it will help but this is what I was told to do.
I have been on Gingeritis 1.0 with the 2.5 radio for a week now, and the past 3 days have been seeing the same thing. Charging takes several hours with the standard battery now. Last night I put it on at 3:30PM, at 40% on a standard battery. At 9:00pm, it was at 94% and still charging.
It was faster charging last week. Going to try a battery wipe.
Thanks for the responses. I'm still at 91%, but I'll try to wipe the battery stats when it finally gets to 100%.
Maybe I'm missing something, but gingeritis doesn't have a toolkit like BAMF, right? I'll have to do it through CM.
Thanks again.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
My mistake, I assumed you were on bamf. I think you can still do this by going into your normal phone settings with your battery info. That I'm not 100% sure on though
Download Battery Calibration NeMa from market, it wipes stats without going into recovery
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
OK. So I tried wiping the battery stats. My phone got to 99% charged and stuck there for an hour so I restarted into CM and wiped the battery stats.... Still slow charging. So the next day I let it sit on the charger for 20 hours until it finally got to 100% and I wiped the battery stats again. Still not fixed. Just took the phone off a 7 hour charge and it went from 24% to 68%.
I'm wondering if it's the ROM I'm using (gingeritis 1.0). I'm going to charge this thing up again all day today and then flash a new ROM. I hate doing that since it takes some much time to set up my phone after a wipe, so if anyone has any other suggestions I'm ready to hear them.
Let's trubleshoot this. Anyone else who is having the same problem post your ROM and if you're using the extended battery. I'm on gingeritis 1.0 using the extended battery.
Try an updated Kernal.
The latest Imoseyon are supposed to fix the slow charging.
Have you tried bump charging? Let battery drop to 5% then put on charger. Once 100%, unplug and turn phone off and put back on charger whole it is off.
Updated the kernel and put it back on the charger. I've gained 25% in the last hour which is back to normal. Thanks!

As stated previously you should update the kernel. The newest IMO fixed it for me.

Restart then charge or get the new isoman kernel.
I was installing zeam launcher and my phone froze, so I rebooted my phone and my battery was at 60 percent but when I started it up I only have 26 percent. What should I do,I tried piling the battery but it stills show 26 percent.

That's weird. I have had that exact same problem two other times on two different roms. I continued using the phone heavily throughout the rest of the day and the battery dropped to about 15% and stayed there for a couple of hours of use, then began dropping again normally afterwards. After draining all the way and recharging, everything was normal again.
On a side note, I switch batteries a lot and charge on external chargers.
Yeah its really weird. I had this same problem on the infuse but with that phone all I had to do was restart the phone...

Did you flash a new rom? Maybe try a battery calibration? Hopfuly nothing is wrong with the battery itself.
Are you rootd? Did u try wiping battery stats in cwm?
It's been found wiping battery stats usually causes battery read issues. Best to leave alone.

Good evening all.
When i'm charging my battery with wall charger our pc charger. I cant fully charge to 100. Its saying fully charged but after i unplug its going down to 96 our even 65 percent. And another thing was when is was charging my battery it was at 86 and after that the battery was going downwards instead of upwards ( when in charger ). So i searched on the internet and i found a way to calibrate the battery, turn off foon let it fully charge, take battery out 180 sec and put back in and it should be calibrated. But my problem is i cant get it fully charged because its getting downwards. Even now its stuck at 81 percent and not going furter. annyone got a solotion. Thank you in advanced.
I hope you get an answer, I have had this problem before but changing ROM seemed to fix it...... Please don't ask me to many questions if any, I'm pretty sure I'm more of a noob than you

Thank you,ive tried that already. I am thinking to go back to gb and see how that works. Realy dont got a clue what else to do. And i'm completly new to this,so i'm a noob. hehe
The standard answer you will get from most people on here is "its been covered many times before."
However, I will tell you its the fuel gauge chip. Several charge-discharge cycles should correct the issue. Very common when swapping ROMs.
For example, for the hell of it, I just reset my chip and dropped from 63% to 2%. The chip kind of "learns" over time what full charge and empty is, and drifts about a bit until its fully sure what 100% and 0% are.

try rest battery history from recovery mode>>>advance
Also did that advanced wipe battery stats. Diddent seem to work out.
Thanks reverted, bij resetting the chip.
Do you mean, wiping battery stats?

Resetting chip,do you mean wiping battery stats?

No, just fully charge it, then let it discharge completely, charge and repeat, it will sort out its misrepresenting charge after a couple of full charges.

I'm trying to do that, but battery wont charge completly.
Its going downwards after reaching 82 percent our even don't load. After a couple tries its charging again but not to 100 percent.
So when i reach the limit when its going down again pull out wait till its empty and try again? At a sertain point it will be charging again till 100?
Btw sorry for my bade english!

Did you try turning the phone off and then charge it? After that do some charges when the phone is on like stated above.
Yes m8 i did,and trying it again right now.
The weird thing is,when my foon is on. The battery shows like 49. And now i turned foon of,and its seems like the green battery is like 15 our something. I also did wipe battery stats again. And whent back to a stock rom.
I would buy a spare battery, you'll get an official 1 for £10 to £15, that way you have a spare and will also be able to set if your phone or battery has a fault.
With my battery I did few bump charges (replugging it back in after it says 100%) and the battery life is excellent. I don'the let it drop below 15% if I can help it.
Good luck

Problem solved i think.
Got me a new battery, charged on a wall charger (not cable) and it was showing 100 in the phone. Then i charged my origenal battery on a wall charger (not cable) And was showing 100 to in the phone.
Now i found out that my charge conector on the phone, has a bad conection.
So i think thats why it issent loading our stops loading at a sertain point.
Sending back my s2 and hope to get it back soon.
Thanks you all for the help. And have a nice day.
Hey guys..
I noticed something weird on my galaxy s3. Whenever i charge my device till 100% and take it off from charger, it goes down to 99% immediatly. I thought it could be a bug in my current rom so i flashed another one. But the buf still exists. I even changed kernels. Still same problem. I am running latest foxhound rom
+franco r5 kernel right now.
Is there any solution for this bug?
Hope someone can help me.
Best regards

It is not a bug, that's how it is made.
If the phone charged to 100% and sat there for a long time, the battery would lose charge cycles and life faster. So what it does, is one of two things:
It will either NEVER actually charge to 100%, or
It will charge to 100%, take itself off the charger to about 95%, and then charge again to 100%, over and over.
HTC does the second one, I think the S3 does the first.
Thanks for the answer.
I didnt know that. Its just so weird because on every of my previous phones the battery stayed on 100%.
But anyways thanks

I know, I don't like it either haha. Some phones will even say "100%" right off the charger even if they're not actually at 100%, which is why sometimes you see people that take their phone off the charger at 100% and a few minutes later they are at 95, etc.
There have been a lot of questions about this in sammy roms, and also in the s1. And it got me thinking about it this way.
As soon as you disconnect the phone from the charger it's dropped to 99%. But in my head, I say it has had to have even used the most minimal amount of juice and is 'technically' no longer at 100%.
Some are saying other phones are reporting batteries on 100% for up to an hour after disconnecting from the charger. That might look great, but there is no way that is correct either, because it has to have used some juice in that hour.
Maybe samsung don't like pandering to the needs of the masses re battery use reporting. Maybe sammy is the only one reporting a correct level.
Me, I don't care. My phone lasts just fine. Are you getting better battery life than your last phone? Haven't I read that the 1x has ordinary battery life? Does it's percentage stay at 100% for a long time? If so, that would be a bit of a rip off to me.
I know sammy have included the option to show the battery percentage within the settings of the s3. I don't use it, and my battery indicator stays at 100% until the battery reaches about 90%. Works for me.
Batteries never charge to 100% anyways to avoid the battery over-charging and exploding
