I changed the question to be more specific. I have a Galaxy S II Model: SC-02C,
Andriod 2.3.3, Baseband: SCO2C0MKF2, with 2.6.35.7 kernel. The phone is already rooted and have noticed there are a lot of Roms that look very promising. My question is, which Rom can I use? and Which are safe to use? Any suggestions would be of great help. Thank you in advance!

I watched the noob video when registering, heard that you should ask in the thread relating to your issue, well i wasn't allowed as a noob to post in that thread because i had below 10 posts, which makes the video telling me to do that stupid.

I'm realizing my version is XWKDG which no one else on the entire internet has, this is probably because i turned in my phone for repair just after 2 days after recieving it due to some technical errors, i'm guessing they gave me some firmware no one else has?
Can i just use the KE2 and root with that or the XWKDD? Honestly, try google XWKDG and you'll find nothing. Everyone who is aksing about it is me, it feels lonely.
Check your link again, there is a Kernel that matches your slightly, the: XWKDG1

I have bought 8 days old, second hand galaxy s 2 that is rooted and I want to unroot it. Problem is I dont know which cf root to use (there are 3 diferent codes XXKE7, XWKDD, XWKF3). And also which is the stock/original ROM???

Can someone explain more about kernel? What will happen if I flash a Rom with different Kernel than the one on my phone?

Meatness: I had the same issue. If you install "cpu spy" (find it on the Market), it gives you more information about your CPU, including the full kernel information.

**First off let me apologize if this a double post, or if im posting in the wrong area, I tried looking around and xda does not have the "Samsung Prevail" in the listed devices for forum support. I'm hoping maybe someone can help me. I recently rooted my prevail and now looking to flash custom rom. I have rom manager all set up, got a custom boot ready, and backed up system to SD only problem is i dont know what custom rom will work with the prevail. I'm hoping there some way shape or form I can get cm7 running though since the prevail is still new it has not gotten offical cyanogen support. My prevail is running a froyo build so I was thinking maybe I can get a stable cm7 froyo build on here with the custom boot going. If I can't get cm7 I'll be happy with shabbymod on it. Any thoughts? Hey everyone,
so i've rooted my phone once before, and after some time i decided it was time to install chainfire's rom due to my battery drainage.
so i went on over to chainfire's thread and read... and read.... and read... downloaded all the jizz. and eventually i got down to the odin part. it was hanging at a specific step. anyways i read... again and realised that my firmware supported a very old recovery tool that didnt work so great. so i got back down to the site and read some more, and eventually got down to installing a new firmware (still confused with firmware vs kernel... but anyway)...
i went down to sammobile. and voila got a 4.0.3 firmware nice! but then... root was gone, and like my rooted apps that installed requested it needs to be rooted first. so i was like (EFFFFFF) anyway.
so i began searching again on how to root, and yes i know i need an insecure kernel... but where on earth do i find this thing.
i noticed that on sammobile they have kernels (or is it firmware, jeez all these names )... and i noticed that some of them have hash signs (##) next to them, does that mean it's insecure? i read somewhere that the star (*) sign means incomplete (it's an update rather)...
so please, someone, anyone, please help...
all i wanna do is install chainfire's rom

Just download and flash via odin the cf root kernel for LPQ which is compatible with LP7 (use the latest version 5.4 referred to as proper it is a bug fix version). This will give you root and cwm.

No. Actually, the first firmware in the first post in the link below is the latest firmware.

Um, it might have the brick bug, I personally haven't used it. If you're rooted you may wanna try AOSP (Pure Google) ROMs, or other Samsung based custom ROMs.

Well, like the title says, i got a korean galaxy s II rooted with tegrak kernel. I rooted by flashing siyah kernel first, but because the phone did not boot, i flashed tegrak kernel after that. Now, i havent really seen any confirmation for custom roms to work on the tegrak kernel and i dont want to risk to brick my phone... so..does anyone actually know if its possible and if yes, does the person also know HOW to do it? I searched for it in the internet but i didnt find anything..(i should mention that im not too good at korean..so i couldnt search for it on korean :0)
