My phone drains the battery very quickly from 100% to 1% but after reaching 1% it can be used for hours.Last time after the full charge battery dropped from 100-1% in about 2 1/2 hours of use on WiFi but after that it lasted for more than 13 hours on 1% but the Network data, Bluetooth and WiFi was off.
Currently i am running CM7 stable (battery fix is also applied) i was also facing such issues on the stock 2.3.4.
maybe a battery re-calibration can solve this issue?

I bought my Atrix 3 weeks ago. My previous device was also another Motorola, Milestone.
When I first started to use Atrix I found that the battery was draining so quickly even I didn’t install any apps yet. It was becoming 1% in 70 minutes with full display and running default apps.
I tried to full battery several times, did factory resets and finally went back to shop. The shop replaced the battery with another new one.
Still it happened same problem. Then they changed my device with another new one. It was same, too.
I would give it back to shop but last time I decided to discharge it until it turns off.
At this point I found that discharging takes long time after it became 1%. For example by heavy using it becomes 1% in 70 minutes, then it takes at least 200 minutes more even I watch videos via Youtube, play games etc.. It means in total it takes at least 4,5 hours with full display and heavy usage. That’s OK for me as battery life.
But I want my battery meter show correct percentage. Then I can be able to know when it will turn off.
I tried battery calibration several times. I search a lot about this problem but found nothing. Probably people thinks that their battery life is too short.
So cannot find solution.
Summary: My Atrix’s battery meter immediately drop to 1% and then runs 3 times longer than previous 99%. PLEASE HELP ME TO CORRECT MY BATTERY METER DISPLAY.
Do you think that your battery fix way helps me?
Please see details of my Atrix below:

I don't know. I bought it, and unlocked it directly, then flash CM7 Rom, but noticed that the battery drain very fast. However, after the indicator becomes 1%, I can still use rather a long time. I thought it was an error on battery meter, but I can't make it display correctly through calibration.
Now if the battery is fully charged, I can still use rather a long time after the indicator becomes 1%. But after the battery drained, it can't be charged completely. It really disappoints me very much.

Ya that's the same problem i have i think its something to do with phone recognizing the mah capacity of the battery if u can see the charge-full-design in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design u will notice it showing only 500 which should be 1880 that's why our phone drops and charge quickly according the capacity its getting from charge-full-design.
This value can be changed on other phone but for Motorola i have not found any tutorial or app to do so

And for charging don't take off the phone from charging on 100% bcoz when the phone battery meter is showing 100% its battery mv is less than 3900mv and if u keep it on charge after 100% battery mv value will gradually go up to 4200mv which is the actual capacity of the battery.

Oh, thanks. The value in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design is just a result, representing the battery statue. So the key is that the battery capacity can't be recognized correctly by the phone. I just test another battery, and the value 1880!
But the former battery doesn't look like a fake one. Actually, I bought them together. I can't understand.
I have strange issue with my battery notification on phone. Flash sirkays 6.1.1 ics kernel. In which you can use your phone for 2 days
Then flash hybrid rom(2.3)--I choose this rom coz it is lite and can run very smooth even in 800mhz
Then under clock your phone to 800mhz and use conservative governor

Charge your phone to 100% (421)and then calibrate it....IT SHOULD WORK
maybe reflash ics firmware or change battery or take it to repair center
Just restart your phone.
r
When I plug my charger percentage remains frozen so can’t see wen it is fully charged. And when I try to calibrate it just says 0% battery spent for example when calibrating web browsing... It is as if some battery sensor burned out or something. Could that be the case?

No it didn’t it just started couple of days ago.
The thing is that I can read my battery status via hard battery calibrator script which means that sensors are still operating. but I cant recharge my phone via usb and I cant reed my battery status on it (in status bar). Also my battery time is extremely poor - like 12 hours max on very little usage (about 8 hours of me sleeping included) or like 3-4 hours of heavy usage. Is there any one here with knowledge to help me? Thanks in advance

so as im a new user and i can't post in half of the forum, but i've still got this urgent question/ point to ask, here's my question:
i recently moved on the new 1.9.1 ressurection remix rom from the 1.3, and aswell changed my kernel to siyah, now lately my battery drains preety quick (yes i did burn it down to 0% and charged it over to 100% few times), but here's the thing, when once i had issues with screen burning 30%-45% of my battery, now it's lying low on 10%-20% while the real issue now is the "Android OS" which goes as high as 60%-70% of my battery, i've been trying to calibrate the battery and reset battery stats and discharge and recharge couple of times, but this just keeps going on... any way to solve this?

OK! I've read your situation. This is the only thing that I can recommend. Try installing a Gingerbread rom and see if the issue persists. If it does then some of your application could be the culprit behind the battery draining issue. But again, thats just a guess...And if it is one of your applications that is causing the drain then you should install bettebatterystats from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
Then charge your battery to 100% and try a new calibration method, maybe you haven't heard of it. But if you charge till 100% then take out the battery for exactly 3 minutes and put it back in and power up your phone and use your phone normally as you do and then at 20% or lower go and check betterbatterystats and see what is causing the most of the battery drain.
Have a great day and good luck with the battery drain, hope this helps!!
Did you check the ROM FAQ about battery draining?
Please check it out. There is also an example of making some changes using extweaks which comes installed by default with ICS Resurrection 1.9.1.

i did read about the new method today, but havent had the chance to try it yet.
im not sure if it's a certain application that causes it, but in the battery stats it points out "Android OS", i've seen many galaxy nexus users complain about the same problem, even with stock kernel/roms, and galaxy S2 users that moved from gingerbread to ICS. it's logical that ICS will take more battery because of the control over multiple cpus and all this kind of stuff but im not sure how much it is about that "Android OS".
anyway ill try to have this battery calibration new method once my battery will drain out, and im probably not going to go down to gingerbread again because i already know its not gonna persist because i remmember how my phone behaved on GB and that those 2 systems work completely different and i want to solve the drain per ICS and not solve the issue by downgrading back down to gingerbread.
thank you for your time and help anyway

I have got a strange problem.
My Samsung S5830i Galaxy Ace has a battery drain of 50% per night without usage, WLAN off.
The device is rooted, and I've had an battery issue when using Link2sd with a ext2 partition (bcm.sdhc.3 kept the phone awake all time). I fixed it using ext3. This was six month ago, no problems after that.
Since last week, I got this huge battery drain. BetterBatteryStats tells me the phone is sleeping most of the time, no suspicious processes.
I tried with a battery from a friend, no result.
I factory-reset my phone, no result.
I used a ClockworkMod recovery from the time before link2sd, no result.
The battery is still draining like hell.
What else could I do instead of throwing the phone away? Please help!

His Battery is not very old. And I think it would be strange it is really a battery problem, because it happens very sudden and the behaviour of the two batteries is the same.
The phone is 1,5 year old. I think about unrooting and try to make use of the guarantee or to get another rom and flash.
But if it would be a software problem, at least the recovery should overwritten the faulty settings, or not?

I've come from using the ipad air to the Z2 and over night the battery drains by over 50%.

I didn't use the device at all and stamina mode was on. This is frustrating since the ipad can stay in standby for days without even 5% drain.[emoji15]

Well, for starters, not sure if the battery temperature chart you attached will help.
So you say it goes from 100% charge to 50% overnight? If so,you got some serious issues there. Typical loss is from 3-5%.
But 50 is absurd.
When you check the battery usage, what kind of usage is going on? Display of course is a biggie and uses the most. It's possible some application is keeping the tablet awake/display on. This might explain it a little.
I will explain how to read it. If the usage chart states "Display 54%", then it means of the 50% battery you lost, the display was responsible for 54% of "that" figure. That's how to properly read it.
But you need to find out where the drain is. I suspect a "rogue" app or a bad battery perhaps. A rogue app can certainly cause it, as with running some strange mods that just don't get along well. So you are going to have to hink back and remember what you changed just before you noticed the drain.
You can install an app called Better Battery Stats, and it might actually pinpoint what is causing the severe drain.
You have already installed GSAM Battery Monitor, so you should be able to find the cause for your battery drain.
Do you already have the Root Companion App installed, too? If not you probably should do so, this should provide better stats. Your tablet needs to be rooted, though.
After the drain appeared, open the GSAM-App and select ´App Usageˋ or so (my app is in German, so I donˋt know exactly). Then select ´Show Kernel Wakelocksˋ or so.
Now you should see how long your device was awake and what caused this.
Hi guys! Thanks for your help here.

No problem. At least you know the cause. Personally I can't recall a bad battery on a new tablet, but I would think it's possible as many tabs as are sold. Sucks you got one though.
