[Q] Multiple ROMs on one device - Optimus One, P500, V General

Is possible to have two or more different ROMs on the same device (LG P500) ?

Absolutely. Using nandroid backups, it is easy to switch between two or more roms. I have backups of four different roms and I regularly use two of them, backing up where I am and then restoring a different rom.

Dual boot roms?

Is there a way to have two roms available for use? I'd like to check out different ones but I'd rather not have to go through the headache of always redoing my accounts, apps, settings, scenes, etc.
Could this be accomplished using nandroid and just making backups of whatever rom I'm using before flashing a new one. Then vice versa if I wanted to switch back?
that's what I do... just make a current NAND backup, then restore a different backup. Then you can switch back using the same method. I do this like every other day haha

[Q] [HELP] Restoring the Data from Data.img

Hi Folks,
After S-0ff and Rooting, Like other Users, me too constantly switching between the ROMS. Taking Backup of the App and Restoring the same is kind of
hard due to frequenct switching. So, After flashing the custom ROM, shall i restore the data by restoring data.img from the nandroid backup?
Just Searched over the xda that flashing the ROM with different versions say, ICS to JB or GB to ICS, this would cause problem due to App compatibility. BTW, Can i restore if i am switching between same versions?
Any Suggestion or feedbacks from the Users who restored using data.img?

CWM Restore between two different ROMS

Does CWM have the capacity to run a restore from a Stock ROM while the ROM in action is Dorian RED PILL? Or would that cause infintely bad issues?
If not possible, I am interested in attempting to develop something that could allow this to take place!

What do you want to restore, the previous ROM or apps and data?

I was wanting to restore apps/data. I didn't back up my texts before I switched ROMS so I wanted to go back, back up texts then come back to R.P.
Restoring data would only work ok if the roms are very similar: same custom or stock rom base which contains almost the same apps and version. But, restoring stock data to a custom rom will most likely just give you a bootloop.
Titanium backup already has an option to selectively restore apps and data from a nandroid backup, though it doesn't fully work when changing android versions (gb to ics).
It would be great if you could make an alternative to selectively restore apps and/or data from nandroid backups using a UI.

ARGH...that's what I was thinking. I'll start looking into an alternative and see what I can come up with.

[Q] Backup before Custom ROM

Hi there,
Sorry if a similar thread has been opened numerous times. But I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
I rooted my S3 and want to try a couple of ROMs before I decide to settle on one of them.
I had a rom backup using ROM Manager, but I'm guessing that backup includes everything in my current system. I'll keep it, it's good to have an extra backup.
My question is, is there a way for me to have a backup of only some apps and their gallery folders (ie Whatsapp Shared Images folder, Instagram), my contacts and all of my pictures so I can get only the things I want back when I'm trying out new ROMs.
Also, what do you suggest before installing a custom rom? Thanks.

The app part you can do so with titanium backup or some similar 3rd part applications, I am sure they hundreds outta there.
Install new ROM won't affect your sdcard, so the images shared folder is OK, and setting can be restore by titanium backcup
Nothing special to suggest, just remember back up before you do it.

Don't use Rom manager
To back up make a nandroid in recovery
Back up efs with HC-KTOOL
Backup with titanium pro as well
Then make copies of all and duplicate to pc/cloud/etc
Thank you both for the answers. Especially about efs, I had no idea how harmful it was to not have a backup of it.

Q: Is TWRP the only backup option?

I have two new Moto G Power (XT2041-4) phones - one is mine and one is the wife's. The bootloaders are unlocked and both are running RPMS31.Q1_54_13_6 stock and are rooted. I don't plan on messing with custom ROMs.
I have Titanium Backup installed and use it to backup/restore at the application level. Typically, my next step without hesitation would be to install TWRP. For my past phones (HTC, Samsung, and LG), my usage of TWRP was limited to fully backing up the phone to the external SD card and restoring (when necessary). This has saved my bacon more times than I'd like to count.
Being new to Motorola devices, I've been reading through the G Power subforums and I've come across several threads that state that backup via TWRP is (or may be) unreliable. Yikes.
So, my questions...
Can TWRP be depended on for backing up and restoring this phone?
Are there other backup options (apps or alternate recoveries) available that can essentially "snapshot" or take an image of the phone?
Thanks for any guidance/advice.
