I am using CKDroid 1.6b2
Today I updated my Maps app, but I can't get Navigation working
Also Buzz can display the layers but it fails publishing my own Buzz.
Anyone got this working?
I already read about Buzz that I may need to go to gmail using a browser.
I can live with that, but the Navigation would be very nice to have and Maps 3.3.1 just lacks some of the nice features compared to Maps 4
Hi,
I'm also on CKDroid 1.6 b2, in the UK.
Navigation works almost perfectly (except for the speech), but you need to remove the official Google Maps app and install the hacked version and the Nav Enabler, there's info on this here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5394164&postcount=134
(which is also linked from the FAQ on the CKDroid 1.5 page)
Buzz just appeared for me today when I went to google mail in the phone browser, it's just a new little icon in the menu at the top of the page, I didn't have to do anything to get it working. It's still not there in my desktop browser though, and they are rolling it out slowly, so if it's not there for you now, you might just have to wait for it to appear?
Thanks, but I don't want the old version of Maps
I want the most recent.
BTW I got Buzz working but not nav (yet)
Now I am flashing Vanillain instead... just for fun..
err, well then you'll have to wait until Google release it officially, you can't have the latest Maps and have Nav working outside USA as Google don't want you to, simple as that.
cant we have 2 maps installed? old and new?

Hi,
The two apps have been renewed for Froyo but where can I download it?
You may be able to find them in the Market, I do know that they were there for a while, just search for Samsung and they should show up.
What applications are you getting to work for the vtab?
I can get yahoo messenger to work but cant download the plugins for video
I cant get the buttons to show up for skype.
Trillian says its loading and signs me out of yahoo but doesnt finish.
I use trillian with google, facebook, and msn with no issues. I also use the new google voice+sprint for texting/chat.

How did you get Google voice working? When I install it, I go through the setup process, and when I get to the section about setting up voicemail (which obviously won't work) I get an error.
I believe the choices on the error are "cancel" (which let's you try again, to no avail obviously) or "skip". When I press skip, it just dumps me back to the same page of the setup I'm on (voicemail), but both the back and forward buttons are greyed out...
Now, the funny thing is that Google Voice is now running! If I get a text, it pops up in the notification bar. But if I want to go into Google Voice manually and write a text, I can't because I can't get past the setup process...very annoying.
I also use Google Voice on a real phone (HTC Magic on t-Mobile) using the same Google account....would that make a difference?
someone did a mod to the voice .apk, I don't remember which forum I got it from. I will put it on my dropbox and post the link here in a few. The modified .apk allows you to skip the phone settings part where you got stuck.
update:
I didn't think I would find it this quick on my computer. I uninstalled google voice then reinstalled using this one and it works like a champ

Thanks, that worked perfectly! I wasn't able to uninstall the old version (said it was a system app, not uninstallable), so I installed the new one right on top of the old one, no trouble.
You can also just upgrade to the current Google Voice in the market. The skip button works fine in it.

sweet, then I'll pull my super secret dropbox version off.
Anyone else run into this? TuneIn was preinstalled but not in my app drawer. If I searched for it the Play Store, it showed that it was already installed and I could click the launch button from there, and the program launched.
I looked it up in the application manager and uninstalled it figuring a fresh install might work. Still didn't show up in the app drawer. Now, the Play Store shows no buttons at all (no install/launch/uninstall/etc) if I pull up TuneIn. If I use the web store to push it to my phone, the install fails, stating that it is already installed.
Thoughts?

Had that happen on my OG Evolution with TuneIn. I think I had to use Root Explorer to remove the app and a library file associated with the app but it was a while ago. Definitely the same issue though.
Did you transfer your SD card over and maybe you had the app on the card or in an sd-ext dalvik cache? Seems weird THAT app was preinstalled seeing as Sprint has its own bloatware for internet radio.

Tunein is definitely preinstalled. On the way home from Best Buy last night, I was playing around with car mode and it is the default tile for Internet Radio.
Also, same issue here with it not being in my app drawer. Only hint of tunein being installed outside of car mode is having the widget.
Weird. Maybe it is a similar but unrelated issue to what I had back then. Drove me nuts that I couldn't get it reinstalled for months though which is why I remember.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. It does show up in the car dock app for me, searches work but streaming doesn't start since its uninstalled.
neither TuneIn Radio nor Polaris Office show up on my app drawer
Tunein didn't show up for me until I installed a diffrent launcher.
Alright... I fixed my problem and as a plus now it shows up in the app drawer. Went to my OG EVO, found the apk, threw it in Dropbox and installed it on my new EVO from there. All is well. Hopefully this helps someone else.
another issue that I hope gets a solution is how to replace the normal TuneIn with TuneIn Pro, for example when in car mode, instead of having two different versions installed

I have the exact issue and did the same thing as you in uninstalling TuneIn and now I cannot open or installed the app. So after reading this thread, I went to the Car app to access TuneIn but it won't stream anything. Then I went into the app settings and disabled the car app and tried to download TuneIn with the same results of it saying it is already installed. Now the Car app has disappeared and I can't find it on the phone in order to enable it. Uggg. I went to the HTC Hub to try and find the car app but can't find it there. Unfortunately, I traded in my OG EVO so cannot try to use the drop box as you did. Man now I'm totally screwed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Tunein for some reason does Not show in the app drawer. But if you add the widget you can access the sign in page after opening the app through it. I also would love to replace it with pro, haven't figured that out yet.

Looks like the phone doesn't want you to install this. Odd. Will be fixed in viperROM
I dont know if you guys are aware but Tune In is located in your app drawer under the red "Music" icon
I ended up doing a Factory Data Reset even though I had spent all day setting up and learning the phone. I just couldn't figure out how to get the Car widget enabled or fix the Tune In Radio issue. FDR fixed both issues and resetting up the phone didn't take very long the second time. I also added a TIR widget to one of my screens so I don't have to access the Car widget to use it. All is well but wish I knew TIR was included on the phone.

yup!
what he said!
Tune in is there, but its part of HTC's music app. Polaris is there too, just try to open a document and it will be opened with polaris.

I though I was going crazy! I had the same thing happen - I ended up just buying Pro version for $.99 and it shows up.

Did the exact same thing but got credited for it a minute after I downloaded it. The second it downloaded I woke up and said "why am I buying something without even looking at XDA?" Uninstalled, got refund, got on here and got it fixed. I know it's only a buck, but hey these days every buck counts.

At the risk of appearing horribly dense (it wouldn't be the first time) I'm still not seeing it. I've opened the Music icon (a red music note) and all I get is a My Phone button and a SoundHound button and the music play controls.
BTW - I purchased (and returned, after finding it didn't work with the Car app) the Pro version. Left a 'love' note with Tunein support, never heard back from them.
Thanks in advance. If all else fails I guess I can wait around until they push an update.

In the HTC Music app, tap on the menu button on the upper-right, and you can add an app to the list.
Hi! I just bought a Jawbone ERA and I'm trying to get it to work with my DNA. When I press the button on the bluetooth headset, Voice Dialer is launched on my phone. I would rather Google Search (Google Now) was launched. I tried installing Bluetooth Launch and selecting com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.VoiceSearchActivity as the application to launch, but it's not working. I read a few posts that said to disable Voice Dialer, but I don't see it listed in Apps or in Titanium Backup, so I can't disable or freeze it. Another post said to convert Google Search from a system app to a user app, but I'm not given that option in Titanium Backup (I do have the Pro version too). Has anyone found a way to launch Goolge Search from a bluetooth headset on the DNA? Thanks!!
Well, I have it half-working now. I was able to use Bluetooth Launch to launch Google Search and allow me to speak a command, but it only works once. Then I have to reboot the phone to get it to work again.
